EVERY Ps2 game has a monthly fee for online play.
All the ps3 games i've played were the same.
I have a ton of the usual PS3 games (Since, you know, how PS3 has not a lot of games available) and none of them require paying for multiplayer.
Maybe it's just the country you're in?

All Sony online services are free. They have always been free. Maybe some handicapped game companies decided to make you pay since the game is on Xbox as well. But not the good ones.

Yes, if you want to take the time to travel to them, you can. You can also use the fictional "Delta Glider" to explore them. There are also missions to do that spawn you on a different planet, such as the moon, mars, etc.

And also, I forgot to warn you, the vanilla game sucks. You need to get some of the addons in OrbitHangar if you want it to look nice.

Seeing how Discovery just launched, I felt like getting back into this sim.

I was just playing with three guys in a massive OGR co-op, I was sniping the most of the mexican soldiers while one guy went in to pluck them off short range, and then the third blew up their munitions with an antitank. :D

Just started playing it again, and realized how much fun it is.
Anyone else have it? I just love how tactical it is and how careful you have to be. I'll figure out how to host a server as soon as I can.
