Suggestions & Requests / Different kinds of events
« on: August 29, 2012, 11:12:30 PM »
Would be cool if we can control stuff other than bricks via events.

Server events:
There would be another button on the escape menu, admin only, and would allow you to apply events to the server. These events would be saved with builds to make stuff easier.
Input Events:
OnPlayerJoin: When a player joins the server.
OnPlayerLeave: When a player leaves the server.
OnPlayerBuild: When a player builds a brick.
OnPlayerTouchGround: When a player touches the ground.
OnPlayerTouchWater: When a player touches the water.
And possibly more.

Output Events:
[clientmessage]Server: Would do a client message, like chat, to everyone in the whole server without a minigame.

Client events:
Using the admin menu, you would be able to apply events to certain client, or make it so certain events are applied to all clients when they join your server. These events are similar to server events but only apply to certain clients.

Input Events:
OnClientBuild: When a player builds a brick.
OnClientTouchGround: When a player touches the ground.
OnClientTouchWater: When a player touches the water.
And possibly more.

Suggestions & Requests / Epic Loading Gui
« on: August 27, 2012, 10:43:54 AM »
Seeing as there is literally one "map" now, the loading gui is now just a picture with "Loading" and a bar.

It's quite boring, and does not really give info about the server.

So I think this loading gui would be a lot better! The images will fade into others, like the main menu. If that is not possible/too hard then I suppose it could be a random image every time the gui opens.

Suggestions & Requests / More FX Paints
« on: August 25, 2012, 08:57:20 PM »
I'm reviving an old idea I had for v16 that was never made, more FX paints!

The FX row would be reworked into 3 rows, color FX, shape FX, and property FX.

Color FX is everything that is listed in the events for color FX. plus a few more, laser, reflect, dim, and invert.
Laser would look like rays on a brick. Think of it like this, some kind of space game and a ship is shooting lasers by the screen.
Reflect would look like the reflect affect in Roblox, but of course, better.
Dim would be the reverse of glow, it would make the brick darker.
Invert would invert the color of the brick.

Shape FX is everything that is listed in the events for shape FX, plus a few more, water, shake, and spin.
Water already exists, but it would be cool if it was default and put into the colorset list.
Shake would make a brick appear as if it's shaking.
Spin would make a brick appear as if it's spinning.

Property FX would allow you to change a brick's properties without hitting it with a wrench. Normal, no-raycasting, no-collision, and invisibility.
Normal would be kinda like how none and solid is, but for properties.
No-raycasting would deactivate raycasting on a brick.
No-collision would deactivate collision on a brick.
Invisibility would deactivate rendering on a brick.

Please click the image if you want to see the better version of my example.

Suggestions & Requests / Good idea that some coolcigarette ruined
« on: August 14, 2012, 10:01:26 PM »
Sometimes, I feel that how Add-On creators set up bricks in the Brick Selector is quite annoying. I would change the script of bricks to change their placement of them, but it's quite annoying, because every time it gets updated again, I would need to change it again.

I feel that a secondary Gui should be made for the Brick Selector, which would allow you to change the placement of any bricks, and also allow you to add new sections and categories or even remove them. It would also allow you to apply new icons to bricks, and even save your changes.

I would love this so much. It would also be cool if it was a part of Too Many Bricks Inventory, cause it's kinda what it is, right?

TL:DR:
A Brick Selector editor

Suggestions & Requests / Ack! A long list! That can't be right!
« on: August 11, 2012, 12:35:43 AM »
So yeah, Custom Gamemode is cool, right? But there is one problem, A long Add-On list!

We need to make that smaller in a way that we can still see all the Add-Ons, so i have come up with a solution!

(see image above)

This should really be made, perhaps by RTB or even as default by Badspot.

Suggestions & Requests / More music properties!
« on: August 09, 2012, 08:21:59 AM »

This is a mockup image using my epic image editing skills, not a real gui.
No need for range/volume music brick edits or eventing the music brick to make it invisible!

Another idea: A checkbox to activate/deactivate fade, so if you want background music it does not get silenter as you go farther.
An FX Layer Option, like Echo, Bass Boost, Treble Boost.

A Tempo and Pitch Slider that uses Time Scales as a base.

Some Music Filters as Add-Ons.

You can do any one you want.

Press Alt F4 to update blockland to v21.

Suggestions & Requests / Music packaged as Add-Ons/.zip
« on: July 24, 2012, 08:54:55 PM »
Music packaged as normal Add-Ons 'n stuff.

Explanation
Let's use this as an example:
Music_Default

Music_Default would include all the default music, and would be downloaded with the game.
Files:
Music_Default.zip
|-music
  |-After_School_Special.ogg
  |-Ambient_Deep.ogg
  |-etc...
|-description.txt
|-server.cs

All of the music would be included in a "music" file in the .zip. Server.cs would do NOTHING, nothing at all, just like prints. Description.txt is just the same as with other Add-Ons.

But... Why?
3 Reasons:
1. Don't need to do that little bit of effort by saving in music file, just save in the add-ons folder.
2. So RTB won't need to do that hacky thing it did in version 2 to download music.
3. No need to download lots of music or extract a .zip or .rar file, as you can just place a lage music pack directly in the add-ons folder.
