General Discussion / I have changed my name!
« on: December 10, 2011, 01:58:03 AM »
I am now known, in-game at least, as Crispy. I also sent a message to Badspot requesting my forum name be changed to Crispy as well. So if you see someone with the name "ChristopherP" it's not me.

Suggestions & Requests / More... Presentation and Creativity
« on: December 01, 2011, 07:48:49 PM »
I'm not saying that blockland is ugly or does not allow you to build cool stuff or anything. I just think blockland need more ways to present add-ons and a few more creative things.

Add-on image and description:

Noticeable Differences (besides rtb look):
DEFAULT Add-On Saver
Add-On Image
Add-On Description

How it would work:
The default add-on saver would be really, really helpful. I know there is already one on RTB, but it seems qualified to be default.
The Add-On image would be an 206x158 .png image, any larger/smaller the game would just stretch the image to fit. I suppose it would be placed in the .zip and called "image.png".
The Add-On description would be like placing the description.txt under the image.

Planning to add detailed info about a gui texture editor also, but not right now...

Forum Games / Space Wars 100x70: The civil war of the solar system
« on: October 28, 2011, 01:13:48 AM »
Inspired by and credit to SPACE ADVENTURE and other stuff.

In the year 2146, when the depths of the solar system were colonized, beyond the asteroid belt most of the colonies revolted. They started setting up their own empire called the Gas Giant Lands, or GGL. GGL banished the colonies on Pluto, they were not part of the empire. Ships flew away from Pluto, but the GGL would not allow passage to Earth. Pluto ships flew away from the sun with nowhere to go except out of the solar system. Depression was hitting everywhere in the inner solar system. Humanity Order of Worlds, or HOW, were teaching commanding skills to lower ages.

MISSION 1: TRAINING
YEAR: 2153

"Commander, those two GGL ships are approaching!"
"Red alert! Arm cannons!"

One "pixel" is one unit of health. Looking at above, your ship has 10 health. Each of the other ships have 7 health. Color of health bars is based on what it belongs to. In this case, GGL uses orange, and HOW uses blue. There are different types of weapons and some are limited. Well I'll let you get on with your battle.

Health: 10

Rockets
Type: Weapon
Ammo: 93
Damage: 1-6
Level: 1
Rockets are the current basic ranged weapon, they shoot out from the ship's cannon and head to it's target. Dice roll defines what damage it gives. Right now it seems obvious what each number does if you look at damage. 1 die is used; 1 does 1 damage, 2 does 2 damage, 3 does 3 damage, 4 does 4 damage, 5 does 5 damage, and 6 does 6 damage.
Torcreep
Type: Weapon
Ammo: 25
Damage: 3-5
Level: 1
Torcreepes make a large explosion on contact with it's target which could damage other objects. The explosion does half of the actual damage rounded. 1 die is used; 1-2 is 3 damage, 3-4 is 4 damage, and 5-6 is 5 damage.

You must use one of these weapons, you can't flee.

Suggestions & Requests / Better JVS Organization and a few JVS ideas
« on: September 28, 2011, 06:37:48 AM »
You know how JVS bricks are currently organized, like separated by pack creator/pack name? Well not to go ranting here or demanding people, but I think JVS content bricks could be better organized.

What I am suggesting is JVS bricks being separated by TYPE. Do you see in the bricks section like "default bricks" with installing a pack and having another sub-section called "derp1234567890's pack"? So JVS bricks should have sub-sections like "Doors", "Windows", "Switches", etc. I think this would make JVS content look better and more professional.

Now for a few JVS ideas:
Smaller Rolling Vault Doors, 2x10x5, 1x2x2.
Ceiling Switches

Suggestions & Requests / Object dropper?
« on: August 25, 2011, 08:07:49 PM »
An event that drops an object that is like an item, you can choose the model, it's color from the paint can, and what happens when you pick it up.

Example:
OnBotKilled -> Bot -> DropObject -> [ Green ] [ Brick ] [ 0 ] [ 0 ] [ 0 ]
OnObjectPickUp -> Client -> VCE_ModVariable -> [ Money ] [ + ] [ 10 ]

Events:
Input:
OnObjectDrop: Does stuff when object is droped.
OnObjectPickUp: Does stuff when object is picked up.
Output:
DropObject: Drops the object. Options for color, model, and velocity.

Off Topic / School trip, will be gone May 22 - 24 - EDIT: Back!
« on: May 17, 2011, 05:18:35 AM »
I'm going to a cool amusement park called Cedar Point, it will be fun and me and most of my school will be gone for 3 days starting May 22.

But I don't have a laptop and if I did I would not have time to go on anyway, so I will be likely to not post 6:00AM on the 22st to 10:00PM on the 24th.

And I'm typing this so people who care will know. If you don't care then just don't post, because people won't care if you don't care.

I'm back!

I'll tell you some of what happened:
I got some boobs.
My mom drove to to school and buses showed up and then we went to a Mac Donald's and a Burger King and got to choose what one to go to for lunch and then we went to some rock and roll museum and a science museum and then we went to a Golden Corral and had dinner there and we went to a hotel and I got some boobs I unpacked and I went to an arcade there and I went to sleep and I woke up and had breakfast there and we went to cedar point and I rode a roller coaster and then I rode a swinging ship and during that I was given $10 2 times for lunch and dinner and then we went back to the hotel and I went to sleep and I woke up and I got all packed up and I had breakfast there and we went to a zoo and we went to dinner in a place I forgot the name of and we started riding home until an idiot tried to beat someone up and the SWAT team came and we got to the school around 12:00 and my mom picked me up then I went to sleep at 3:00 and I woke up right when I had to go to school and then after school I started walking home and I got home and now I am siting on my computer typing this very long run-on sentence and I will now hit preview and now I will click post.

Suggestions & Requests / Advanced Trust
« on: May 08, 2011, 09:30:22 AM »
I think trust should be more advanced. What if you want someone to be able to paint your bricks, but are afraid he will destroy your bricks?

I think the player list trust buttons should all be removed and replaced with one button "Trust Options". When you press that button, it will open up a window that looks kinda like the mini-game editor window, but with check boxes that have to do with trust stuff. You select what you want to have trust with the player and select "Send >>" and the player will get a trust invite with a list of what you want trusted with him. These have check boxes too so that the player can uncheck them if they don't like that trust idea, and they press accept. They can decline by unchecking everything or pressing decline. You can be downgraded a trust option without being asked if you accept.

Like the bricks/minigame gui, there should be a favorites bar. This would allow you to use less time while trusting a person, making you happy and them happy/mad. I suppose somewhere there could be a classic trust button. Trust options "None" and "Full" would still be included fully.

Like I said, it would have the look of the mini-game editor gui. That is because mooders may want to add their own trust options, like for example, requesting duplicator trust. Old mods would still use the classic trust options.

The trust options gui would look like this (text example):

|Blockhead's Trust - - - - - - - - - - - - - X
| |Building|                                         ^
|                                                       |
        Build on                                      |
  • Paint on                                     |
  • Print on                                      |

|                                                       |
| [Cancel]         [            ]         [Send] |
|__________________________________V
The middle button is a drop down menu for classic trust (build and full).

The trust invitation gui would change to look like this (text example):

|Trust Invitation - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - |
| Blockhead (999999) wants trust to:             |
|                                                              |
        Build on bricks                                     |
  • Paint on bricks                                    |
  • Print on bricks                                     |

|                                                              |
| You may uncheck trusts you do not agree on.|
| [Decline]                                    [Accept] |
|_______________________________________|

Okay, here is a list of default trust options that should be included:
#: Will start on being trusted automatically.
*: Admin may do without trust.
**: Only effects you/your client
^: Overwrites above trust ( is that same trust but better )

I hope this is made, as it may help many blocklanders.

I don't want server-wide permission levels. I want a way to specify trust between certain players.

BlockoP Headers

Make a header for my website. You will be credited.

Winning Headers:
August 2010: Nobody yet

Rules?

  • Make the size 920 x 259
  • Make the pic have something to do with Blockland.
  • Make it good. I don't want a picture that has a red house made out of 1x1 bricks and a spam snake and random red bricks everywhere.
  • Don't add text. I'll add the text that is showing on the picture now.
  • After 1 full day, or to at least when I fall asleep then wake up, I will not accept anymore, the best will be chosen, and the topic will be locked for 1 month.

Happy shooting pictures!

Suggestions & Requests / Wrench Option: Item Skins
« on: July 26, 2010, 11:24:31 PM »
This would be very useful, because I don't think you would want many weapons that are just copys with diffrent skins cluttering the item selecter.

The skin matches with the item and the skin changes depending on the item you selected.

Like if you click "Gun" the list may turn into:
Default
Brown
Light Gray
Gold

And you select "Rocket L" You get:
Default
Blue
Red
Yellow
Black
Gray
White
