Meh, I like RTB for the name. I like that it has history, especially since we have references online to "RTB" going back like 4 or 5 years, so people will be more likely to find the new versions of BL through those if they google "RTB". Plus I think the name still applies right. "RTB Cloud" for the cloud services would make sense IMO. The RTB "brand" has strength and momentum behind it. Everyone that's been plang BL forever knows what it is anyway.

Luckily there is a built in way to fake precipitation physics with the engine, using splash images for map precipitation. Autumn Pond (rainy) map uses them if anyone wants an example of how it works. It's just a 4 frame bitmap animation that happens when any raindrop hits an object. Definitely not real rain physics, but fakes it well enough.

Well, the router I'm using apparently can't port forward to save its life. I'll have to wait til tomorrow when I get it on the good connection with a different router before it will be playable.

I'm posting this from the new dedicated! This thing is going to be a beast: 3GHz Pentium D dual core, 2 GB ram (will be expanded later). I just got a nice GFX card for free, but it won't do the server any good. The only plan have for this machine right now is for it to run the BLBC server, so we should have no problem with whatever we want to throw up as a build. :)

EDIT: And I'll be connecting it through a fiber connection when I get it to its rightful "home."

BLBC color pack could be cool, but not high on my priority list. I haven't really looked in depth at other color sets out there, so I'm not sure if there's anything that would be perfect already.

I would allow specific vehicles if they were relevant to the build theme in the server. I'm also going to add in the "building tools" preset from RTB's system.

Having a good permissions system will be important. I want to keep the server structured like how it was before, where there's a freebuild area and a club-build area, and you can only build in the club zone if you're a member or "friend" of the club.

Definitely. But most of the rest is still relevant luckily. I can't wait to choose which add-ons will make it on the server. Only things that help with building! :) If you guys have suggestions/favorites, let me know.

I don't like your forums because its barely posted in and when it is its crap.
I'm going to take issue with that. I just checked it and over 73 threads have new posts in them since 3 days ago when I last visited (and many of those threads have multiple posts in them). I'm also going to venture a guess that there is less crap (as a percentage, and total) posted compared to the BL.us forums. What I really like about the RTB forum is a lack of an Off-Topic forum, and no Drama forum.

I'm not trying to convince you to join, I just want to say my piece so that other users won't take your opinion as the golden rule.

Maybe you could try making a wall texture that you use on the skybox sides? Might want to put wooden borders around the edges so you can see where the wall joins together, so it will look like a box too.

I think it's equally likely someone will build well whether they have a high or low ID. Lego/building enthusiasts are just as likely today as they were in v2 to like this game. Before "Retail" released there were already plenty of people that didn't care much about building.

Are you talking about like on Roblox, where you can add the studs on the side so that you can build sideways. I like that idea, and it is possible, but I don't know if that's something the people who work on BL want to do. You would have to either make more bricks, or add events that allow other bricks to hold on to it.
I'm talking about regular ol' LEGO building... I've never played (nor want to) play Roblox, so I have no idea what their mechanics are like.
