Off Topic / So I'm having a feeling of difficulty breathing.
« on: February 14, 2015, 09:27:29 AM »
Not entirely sure why. I tried something that I used to do when I was younger (plug nose, breathe in all the way, then "gulp" down additional air for no good reason) and despite "gulping" down additional air, no extra air was breathed out.
So um, do I have a ruptured windpipe or something?
What do I do?

Drama / Kozak is probably at it again.
« on: April 05, 2014, 11:41:54 PM »
So we all (or most of us) remember the incidents with Kozak and the Triple T Trollers, don't we? They went around crashing freebuilds and rps using VCE and the like, or if that fails, spamming the hell out of centerprint and chatmessage events, emitters, and other bullstuff to, well, troll. Kozak claimed a while ago that he was done with that stuff, but it appears he has attempted to VCE crash Annie's Medieval RP.
Kozak's IDs are 16737 and 31129, and possibly also 39734 (not quite sure, but that ID was also associated with the TTT so I'd watch out)
Here's Kozak's track record:

http://forum.blockland.us/index.php?topic=212211.0 (this topic was posted BY KOZAK, in which he was banned for alleged theft after claiming he wasn't kozak (since the only way he could not be kozak was if he had stolen kozak's account))
Last time I saw him was in Feb or March 2014, in which he used client timescale cmds to forget around on Badspot's speedkart.

So Kozak joined. I knew of his track record and the rest of his bullstuff; apparently nobody else did. After joining, he read the "rules" section. He then broke one of the rules by refusing to set a name, remaining completely silent. After leaving the spawn, he went "afk" on a hill for about two minutes. For reference, two minutes is about the amount of time it once took my brother Duskhelt to find out how to make a VCE repeater. Meanwhile in addition to occaisionally spying him, I'm trying to help another new guy figure out the rules, figure out why loading is completely broken, and figure out what the hell some other folks were up to.
I'm occaisionally spying him, keeping a careful eye on him, since I know his track record. He goes off to the side of the map where he can build without the host's trust, and plants a red 1x1 brick. He wrenches it.
Two or three minutes pass. This is very, very suspicious, as even when I'm setting up my player datablock and loadout I take less than a minute to get all the events through. It occurs to me that taking that long to get events through is usually a sign of a moderately complicated event set, or a set that requires a manual to operate... put two and two together.
At this point, since we all know what Kozak does with VCE, I d-wanded his brick and permanently banned him, then preemptively banned the two alt IDs mentioned further above.

Keep an eye out for this forgetwit, as his days of trolling are evidently far from over, in spite of what he told me back in july 2013.

Also apologies, but I have no screenshots of the incident, as I was too busy fixing three other problems while keeping an eye on Kozak.

General Discussion / Space Guy and Trader removed from the credits?
« on: March 07, 2014, 05:17:04 PM »
I checked the credits and these two aren't on here, but they most certainly were a year ago.
What happened? Were they only kept on by the insistence of Ephi, or what?
EDIT: Figured it out, my old listing had the RTB folks included in it, which added Space Guy and Trader.

Simple: Something significant that happened for each day of the year.
I've got June 19 as Pench Memorial Day
Pench Memorial Day

June 19th

Honoring his death, all 35 of them.
(he was killed by Ravencroft in a trench TDM thirty-five times in a row without getting a single kill, and without Ravencroft dying at all)
Also according to a topic we can no longer access, July 7 is Act Like Destroyer day.
What other random holidays should we all celebrate?

Help / Speedkarts using raycasting instead of collision sometimes?
« on: February 06, 2014, 09:38:45 PM »
So I've been working on a speedkart track, and I was having some trouble with some decorative bricks cluttering the track, so I decollisioned them. Simple problem, simple solution, right?
Well, the bricks in question are 2x10 plates and a 2x2 plate. I don't know if that's relevant somehow.
Anyway, so I decollisioned them. Then, as I was driving past them, I noticed something funny.
My kart was still colliding with them.
I went "wait wtf" and re-wrenched them.
Still no collision.
I walked through them.
I walked through them normally, like one is supposed to do when collision is off.
Meanwhile my kart was parked on the bricks in question.
I turned off raycasting on one of the bricks, and my kart wheel fell down through it.
When I turned raycasting back on, the wheel popped back up on top of it.
So what in the world is going on here? Do physics use raycasting sometimes now, or what?

Off Topic / Just found out my cousins hate my guts
« on: November 28, 2013, 05:32:16 PM »
They act all friendly most of the time, but today of all days, I spot a text message over one's shoulder, and see him texting my other cousins generally talking stuff about me, and judging by the state of the conversation they're all generally in agreement. And these were people I thought I could trust.
And then he notices I notice. Awkward silence ensues, and then I just go sit in a back room.
What do I do now, forums?

Off Topic / So apparently I got hit by a browser hijacker
« on: September 02, 2013, 01:34:30 PM »
Some guy messaged me on another site (in which I had mentioned adblock plus when some stuff was spamming bad images) and said that there was an update and provided me with an innocent looking download link.
Turns out it was a browser hijacker or something. I don't even know exactly what it did but my parents "family safety filter" sirens went off prettymuch every other page I visited. I never saw any difference but apparently my computer was trying to access research sites. I'm wondering if it was trying to, idfk, change ad destinations or throw broken popups at me or what?
Anyway I redownloaded ABP from the official site after deleting the weird stuff with malwarebytes. It didn't seem to put up any resistance.
Has anyone else ever run into anything like this where it doesn't just mass-spam your browser, it tries to make it look like it's visiting certain pages as if a real person were doing so?

Off Topic / Work In Progress; please ignore this for now.
« on: July 28, 2013, 11:25:30 PM »
Because the 3ds cant do tabbed browsing or even copy+paste, I need to hold this here while I do more research.
In the beginning, there was nothing. From this primordial nothingness sprang Badspot, the Creator of the World. Badspot accomplished a great many creations, and mortals thrived in his world. Soon enough, however, Badspot realized he needed more. Badspot split the worlds he had created into two forces of pure energy. From the dark side, the Destruct, he pulled Kompressor, Lord of the Shadows, while from the light, the Construct, he brought forth his divine helpers, once exceptional mortals who had rallied to his cause: Ephialtes, Rotondo, Bones4, nitramtj, Wedge, Sumz, Facechild, Mocheeze, Space Guy, Trader, Kaje, âstrô, entrepreneur in, and Moose. Together, they created the world as we know it today. Badspot, Kompressor, Ephialtes, and Rotondo were imbued with power over mortals, setting forth divine laws, and woe to he who does not abide, for they shall be banished from the world. Ephialtes and Rotondo chose Mocheeze, Space Guy, and Facechild to hold dominion over that which was created; should these members raise objections, the creation would be banished from divine realms, and sometimes even from mortal realms at the behest of the almighty Badspot. Ephialtes brought several other old mortal friends into power under his guidance, cheif among them Lub. Wedge had assisted Ephialtes, but found his powers of logic, understanding, and knowledge were such that he was destined to help those in need, always with polite, calm, and practical messages.
Together, Badspot, Kompressor, and the rest of his divine helpers extended the world out to all those mortals who had once frequented them, and many more. Not all was well, however.

âstrô and Moose soon tired of Badspot's creation, and vanished from the world. Meanwhile, a particularly dastardly mortal, LewnaJa, went on a rampage, trolling, insulting, and ruining all that he came across. LewnaJa was banished from Badspot's creation, though some say that to this day he lurks at the borders, sending messages into the world via arrows poisoned and covered in flame. As the worlds grew, the remaining Divine Helpers assisted Badspot in making things right, as Badspot and Kompressor worked together to craft the first of the new maps. Unbeknownst to all but Badspot, Kompressor intended to one day destroy these creations, for he was ashamed of their poor internal quality. In the meantime, Sumz, Facechild, nitramtj, and entrepreneur in went on to become grand paragons of construction, as Kaje became the paragon of finely-shaped detailed crafting. Trader went on to eventually invent the door, an important feature which the Blocklands had strangely been lacking. Bones4 found that his new status neither helped nor hindered the goal he had always held as a mortal: to build the Titanic, in true perfection, so that he might one day sail the Slate Sea with all those he knew.

Drama / C++ (41019) and Clay (44729): Pathetic trolls
« on: July 27, 2013, 07:35:27 PM »
Caution: Very image-heavy. Pagestretching.

Here's a look at their name histories on RTB, because they seem prone to changing them:
Clay: http://forum.returntoblockland.com/list.php?cmd=view&id=44729
C++: http://forum.returntoblockland.com/list.php?cmd=view&id=41019

So I was on Apak's server, having a grand old time. Clay starts camping at the end of each race just to stall, unfortunately I don't have screenshots of this. However, his buttbuddy C++ joins, and I have a long series of conversation screenshots. Many of them were obtained using Pageup, so the background may not be 100% relevant to the contents of the chat.

I didn't know Starcraft had walking richards...

Here's where the trolling begins...

Yes, my framerate usually averages between 2 and 5. That number in the corner is bugged.

I love how he has no response to the fact that a so-called "newbag" just beat him.

First evidence of their buttbuddy trolling.

Here's where we started laughing. He's a 41k ID who claims to have no alts but claims to have been playing for 4 years.

Something got cut out here. I basically said C++ was a troll, cause people were reacting.

One does not simply "hack" a 41k ID.

He demands that I show him proof that he DIDN'T "hack" it. handicapped/trolling much?

Note their avatars. Really, guys? Pathetic.

And then they both left.

Long story short, these two are a pair of pathetic trolling buttbuddies. Ban them from your servers accordingly, for they will bring you no good. I was laughing the whole time, but some people won't find it funny.

Drama / yawa200 (ID 17399): Cheats at his own game
« on: July 24, 2013, 05:41:42 PM »
WARNING: Image heavy!
yawa200 hosts a speedkart server. yawa200 also has a tendency to abuse admin orb for his own benefit.

My brother was playing on the server, me watching over his shoulder. He was extremely far ahead of everyone else, when Yawa suddenly decides to orb up behind him. Yawa later orbs on over to the finish to steal his win. No screenshots are available because my brother refuses to take them for any reason. Not one to take this sitting down (hah), I connect myself with the intent of gathering more evidence.

As soon as I join, I am greeted with the sight of yawa orbing around:

Yawa orbs on over to the finish, ditches his car, and orbs off somewhere else. Curly here is apparently Yawa's step-sister. She gets caught on his car.

Where did yawa go? Oh, there he is.

There is a distinct possibility that Curly went afk, which would (sort of) justify the subsequent action:

One game later, lo and behold, Yawa does it again. Right before he orbs, the last person dies, so he technically won by Last Man Standing anyway, but...

Map change. Yawa leaves the minigame...

And this is what he was up to:

I am still alive ingame while watching this scene unfold (for the moment) and Yawa starts throwing spears at me.

...and kills me with the spears that he cheatspawned in. For some reason, weapon damage in Speedkart works outside of the minigame.

Yawa makes a bogus apology. People who are sorry don't go back and do the exact same thing right away. People who are sorry don't aim for you and kill you and then go "srry". Forgive my cynicism.

Then the spawn bugs up and we all die. Yawa is still messing around with spears.

Curly begins spamming hashtags as Yawa continues with the spears.

Curly continues spamming hashtags, and Yawa decides to give out free spears. I pick one up for sake of this drama to prove that Yawa was in fact dropping them around, as most of them vanished before I could get a screenshot in.

I throw one spear at a wall near where Curly crashed, to showcase what Yawa is up to. The response:

When the round ends, I see that Yawa has replaced the spear with a gun.

It may not be incredibly obvious here, but Yawa is in fact firing upon the racers.

Seeing Yawa orb back up, I smash my car and Self Delete to watch via killcam.

A quick screenshot of Yawa's ID.

Lo and behold, Yawa has turned the gun into a rocket launcher! He begins spamming rockets after the racers, who have by now far outdistanced him.

Curly continues spamming hashtags. I note that Yawa is way too far away to hit anyone with the rocket launcher. Noting that he's being observed, Yawa throws it into the water and pretends like nothing happened.

Yawa then decides to orb outside the spawnroom during the next round to give himself an advantage. I note that I oughta release a version which includes some code (I believe it was from ZAPT, but now that I think about it it may have been from slayer) which prevents respawning using orbing.

Yawa fetches Curly into the admin room and they both go AFK (Yawa is afk while playing an animation). Logical makes some illogical comments about destroying his computer because of his bad internet. Meanwhile Logical is also the last person alive in the arena but he doesn't win by Last Man Standing because of these two.

Several rounds later, Yawa returns, orbs back into the spawn after the race has started, and spawns his car.

Yawa then discovers that his car has no engine power because of the way the events in the spawn are set up. He immediately sets out for more power, orbing into the admin room.

And then he warps himself back onto the track! What a great host! /sarcasm

Finding himself being beaten, Yawa orbs again as Cybor's car takes a rough landing, allowing Yawa to pass him.

I call Yawa out on this, with a simple, "Hey yawa, nice cheating." to which I get no response (as is often the case).

Hilariously, Yawa falls into the water and gets dashed against a wall and killed. Cybor reaches the finish despite Yawa's actions. Yawa seems unaware that admin orbing allows for respawns (or maybe it doesn't anymore; I'm not quite sure). Regardless, I'm not going to tell him that, for obvious reasons. Yawa then tells me that he "had to to get power to his vehicle" and "so deal with it!".

On the next map, Yawa loses to a fellow named "Blujang", who has a grudge against me because whenever people lose their karts in Speedkart, I run them over to keep them from stalling the game when they inevitably cannot win. Blujang wins the first round... and Yawa comments on it. This in itself is not so bad...

...but then Yawa wants to know where the admin room is on the map. So he can go afk, join late, and orb his way to victory. Again.

Blujang insists that Yawa kick me for running him over. Yawa ignores him (one point in Yawa's favor, but then, Yawa also ignores prettymuch everyone). Yawa, meanwhile, gets mad that I said "she" when referring to him (he had been very unspecific about his gender up till then).

One uneventful round passes.
Yawa asks how to make it so that the server doesn't shut down when he leaves. He's going to go host his L4D server. I tell him that the dedicated server system is a bit of a pain to set up and that if he's hosting it off his computer (he is) then hosting L4D on the same computer would make both Blockland and L4D lag immensely. He responds to my attempts at assistance with "what ever".

Yawa then goes and orbs up to an unreachable location with the intent of going AFK there, thus stalling the game if anyone else was left with no kart.

Yawa refuses to Self Delete so as to not hold up anyone else.

Someone else comments on Yawa's cheating (not shown), and I mention all the orbing Yawa was doing when my brother was playing. Yawa's response is "what ever".

Surprisingly, this story does not end with me getting banned or kicked; I suspect Yawa doesn't know how to ban or kick people. However, if you want to play a fair game of Speedkart, yawa200 is not the ideal host.
Discuss.

Help / Can't make hole bot avatars transparent using events
« on: July 23, 2013, 05:08:37 PM »
Title prettymuch says it all; because every time the events are sent it recalculates the sender's current avatar, and transparency isn't allowed with avatars, there is no real way to make a ghost bot with the events as opposed to the script. Because I am trying to make something with the default functionality this is a problem. Does anyone have any workarounds?
I have one idea left: I am going to test making each part of the body a recognizable color and then going into the bls file to edit the save, thus forcing the bot to try to be transparent.

Games / Looking for a good ambient horror game
« on: July 18, 2013, 06:34:52 PM »
So I'm looking for a good ambient horror game, one that's creepy and unsettling but not full of tons and tons of jumpscares. A more slow-paced sort of horror, possibly some bit of "what the hell happened here" discovery. Any recommendations?
Games I've tried:
Amnesia: The Dark Descent. Was too hard to the point I ragequit on the first monster. Game mechanics were frustrating. I almost want to buy it and go in with some hacks or something and remove most or all of the monsters so I can just witness the ambience.

Music / KotB's music loops: Suddenly, Cave Story! (taking requests)
« on: July 17, 2013, 01:07:08 PM »
Unfortunately, I had to make these in vegas, so there's a chance the timing at the point of looping will be a tiny bit off.

Note that because good file hosting sites are dysfunctional for me, I will be attaching all files. You can see the list below.
Sources: Mannheim Steamroller songs grabbed from videos available for download on Youtube, Super Smash Bros Brawl tunes uploaded to Youtube by Gilvasunner, Cave Story and Cave Story Wii (Eu + Na 1.1) tunes uploaded to Youtube by Frygoon, Cave Story 3D tunes uploaded to Youtube by CurchackBonk, and Cave Story Beta tunes available on a Cave Story fansite (alongside their final counterparts) by special agreement with Pixel himself. First: Cave Story OST: Run!
Plays during King's crowning moment of awesome when he rushes in and smashes Balrog over the head, and later plays during Iron Head's boss fight and a few other instances.
Second: Super Smash Bros Brawl OST: The Battle for Storm Hill
I think it's available on a DK-themed stage.
