Help / Re: Bots won't attack when owner isn't on server
« on: March 22, 2016, 02:30:19 PM »
Type this into the dedicated server after you set up your dedicated slayer minigame:
Code: [Select]
$DefaultMinigame = Slayer.Minigames.getObject(0);
It will work after that.

Help / Re: Links keep opening in the wrong webbrowser
« on: March 21, 2016, 11:19:18 AM »
The register key Shift Kitty is talking about is this one:
Quote
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\Associations\UrlAssociations\http\UserChoice\Progid

Do you know how to edit your register?
If you don't, be very careful because it can make your computer not start up again if you do it wrong.

Type in start: regedit
Start the program and follow the location mentioned above.

If the "progid" key is "ChromeHTML" then the problem lies somewhere else.
If the "progid" key is either "FirefoxURL" or "IE.HTTP" then you can change it to "ChromeHTML" (without the quotation marks)

Do the same with:
Quote
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\Associations\UrlAssociations\ftp\UserChoice\Progid
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Shell\Associations\UrlAssociations\https\UserChoice\Progid

Help / Re: Shift Key
« on: March 20, 2016, 08:27:40 PM »
Does it also happen outside of Blockland?

Are you on a laptop with thumbprint perhaps?
Can you see in your device manager if there are any yellow triangles?

It seems Blockland can't edit some files:

Can you check if the entire folder is writeable?

Help / Re: Caps glitch
« on: March 19, 2016, 09:31:52 PM »
I think I have had the same problem as he is trying to describe.

What happens is that Caps lock is suddenly switched in Blockland itself.
The keyboard registers Caps lock off while Blockland types with Caps lock on.
This wouldn't be much of a problem if you don't have to switch to other windows like your browser.
Otherwise you will have to keep flicking Caps lock on and off to just be able to type normally every time you switch windows.

Press caps lock till you are no longer typing in caps in Blockland.
Alt tab.
Press caps lock till it is off.
I think this might indeed help.

Help / Re: A no-build place in my server
« on: March 19, 2016, 09:22:41 PM »
Can't upload the pic (big size), but it said something about a PTG error...
Then it probably has something to do with PTG.

If you want a quick fix: turn off PTG, place the bricks and save, re-enable PTG
But please also say something on the PTG addon post so Ghost can take a look at it.

What I think is happening is that PTG is keeping that spot cleared because it is the starting point of its terrain generation right there.

Help / Re: Can't connect to servers
« on: March 19, 2016, 05:02:29 PM »
Servers show "---" ping if they aren't port forwarded properly and use UPnP.
Unfortunately, UPnP has some problems.
Some users (including you) can't connect to servers with it:
http://forum.blockland.us/index.php?topic=265922.10

Can you look into Blocklands options under Network and see if UPnP is turned on?
I don't know if that will fix it.

You can also try connecting to those servers from a different location.
It is possible the problem lies with your own router, that it doesn't support UPnP.

Or it might be a firewall issue.
So Try turning it off for a minute.
UPnP needs a port opened, although I doubt it needs to be on your side.
But try anyway.

The only other thing you can do is ask the server host to port forward.

Help / Re: Zone bricks won't load in the event and brick menu
« on: March 18, 2016, 06:10:36 PM »
It loads the datablocks perfectly.
You sure they aren't in your build menu?
I think they create a new sub in the brick menu, so press tab a couple of times to scroll to them.

Help / Re: Windows 10 killed my Blockland
« on: March 16, 2016, 07:38:47 PM »
Windows 10 isn't bad and it also doesn't "kill Blockland".
Since you probably don't know much about drivers, I suggest you install driver booster
It will search for all your drivers and install those you are missing or are outdated.
It is about the only "driver install tool" I trust not to install malware.

Just make sure you read everything thoroughly while installing.
It will try to trick you into installing things you don't need a couple of times.
But everything else about the program is fine.
And you can delete it once it is done installing drivers.
You won't need to update them for a couple of years anyway, unless it is your graphics card.

Help / Re: Chat breaks when going into events menu
« on: March 16, 2016, 07:29:46 PM »
Usually if Blockland hits a certain amount of RAM (I don't really know the value because it varies), it crashes.
Too much disk usage could freeze up Blockland when doing stuff that writes/reads files.
Too much CPU usage could freeze Blockland.
He is saying nothing about crashing, only that his chat becomes unresponsive after being in the event menu.
The rest (presumably) runs fine.

Do trace and send another console log (if it's too big use another site)
With this I do agree.
Your current console log says nothing about your problem.
Are you sure you uploaded a console log from right after your chat broke?

Suggestions & Requests / Re: Back to the Future: Trilogy Stuff
« on: March 16, 2016, 07:10:10 PM »
Doc's glasses are simple with the Hat mod, and as for the hoverboard, well we have had a hoverboard for a very very long time, but I wouldn't mind if anybody gave a shot at making a new one, since the other one is from the days of V10 (I think).
The hoverboard existed before I joined, which was in V8.
So it must be from even before that.

General Discussion / Re: What if? Topic.

What if SBG is correct about zombie6069 being correct about Nicepoint being correct that this "what if" game belongs in "Forum Games" and should be moved there asap because even though the first question was about Blockland, it is still a game and not a discussion as the name "General Discussion" implies?

General Discussion / Re: Thoughts on DarkRP?
« on: March 11, 2016, 10:12:09 AM »
most city rpgs die because of three reasons:

too many criminals

too many cops

it becomes a deathmatch

as long as you can mitigate these reasons or prolong them...
then hey this seems pretty sweet
The easiest way to fix those is to not let any job spawn with weapons except for those who can lose their job if they use it unwisely. (like cops)
And if I remember correctly, that is a thing in DarkRP.

Suggestions & Requests / Re: Shared name bricks
« on: March 08, 2016, 11:29:13 PM »
Why not invite someone to be able to place your bricks and to modify them?
All bricks placed by that player after the invite will then belong to you. And so will the named bricks.
Then all you need is for the other player to be able to select your bricknames in the eventing system instead of his own.

Basically treat the 2 players as if they are one.

After you are done, you can remove the invite so the player is able to place his own bricks again.
