Help / Re: Can't spawn on Badspots Blockparty, help?
« on: April 14, 2014, 02:37:00 PM »
Try and move your addons folder somewhere else for a sec.
It will redownload all the default addons which are the only ones you need to join Badspots server.

This will eliminate the possibility of it being an addon problem.

If it then works, it is probably some client addon messing with you.

Does this happen with any other server?

>onactivate>self>VCEretrocheck>Player score> >= point value
>onvariabletrue>player>additem>item
and then use onvariabletrue for like messages to the client and sounds and stuff.

don't forget to use OnVariableFalse for a "can't afford!" message or sound.

No no no no!
You forgot a lot of things like saving which items they bought and decreasing their score

onActivate > Self > LoadVariable [client] [Sword]
onActivate > Client > IfVariable [Sword] != 1 [2 3]
onVariableTrue > Player > AddItem [Sword]
onVariableFalse > Self > IfValue [<var:client:score>] >= 100 [4 8]
onVariableFalse > Client > Centerprint ["You do not have enough money for this item"]
onVariableTrue > Client > AddScore [-100]
onVariableTrue > Player > AddItem [Sword]
onVariableTrue > Client > modVariable [Sword] set 1
onVariableTrue > Self > saveVariable [Client] [Sword]

Just keep them in this order or use delays

Suggestions & Requests / Re: Fakekilled Bricks kill
« on: April 06, 2014, 07:01:50 PM »
What I mend was executing the physics on the server too.
And using those to calculate the velocity and collisions.

The clients will not calculate the exact same physics thus they will die from bricks they don't render, they will think they are killed by nothing.

The part about using vehicles was just an idea.
I think it would be possible with like 20 bricks or less.

1AM-12PM
1AM-24PM (I think that's how it is, I don't use this layout on my PC)
It is actually just:
0:00 - 23:59
No AM or PM is used

Maybe only the server sided physics (if they are even executed) could be used.
But that would mean clients would be (in their eyes) killed by seemingly nothing.

You could make it so (only some) bricks turn into vehicles when they are fake killed.
Using too many of those will lag up the server and you'll probably need every brick as a .dts file.
But it may be possible for what you need.

This belongs in Help

Does this happen with other 3D games?
Have you tried changing the settings of your graphics card?
Mainly the 3D rendering settings.

Help / Re: I Switched To Linux
« on: April 06, 2014, 05:12:55 PM »
"The Windows 8 product key is a series of 25 letters and numbers and should look like this: xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx."
If Windows 8 was delivered with the computer in an OEM fashion, you generally don't have the product key.
It is written in the BIOS and you need a program called RWEverything to retrieve it or use a OEM Windows 8 iso that retrieves this automatically.

Anyway, if you want to keep using Linux, be sure to use the latest version of Wine and have all the latest drivers installed.
Or maybe you aren't locating enough RAM to Blockland?

Help / Re: Authentication: Validating Key [Help!]

I don't know if this would help, but I'm running on a laptop with windows 7. I'm not running on an administrator account, there are various restrictions (anti-virus programs, inappropriate content, etc. Nothing that I think would interfere with Blockland. I've set my anti-virus to ignore Blockland as well.), and my firewall has no issues with the game.

Maybe try to install Blockland not under program files.
I am speculating because you are not running on a administrator account, an administrator has installed the game for you.
This can mean that you do not have write rights to program files or any subfolder when running the game.
Which in term may interfere with writing the key.dat file.

Try installing it in your personal folder, you should have full right there.
Or, if you do know the admin password, open it by right clicking, choosing "run as Administrator" and entering the password.

You can still get all your data back if only your motherboard broke.
Find the Hard drive, unscrew that and connect it to preferably a desktop.
tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3a9n7G4q30M
If that desktop has a dvd drive of some sorts, you can deconnect that and connect the hard drive to that. Then you don't need to have extra cables, everything is already in place.
After that it is only a matter of booting the pc and looking in my computer, a new drive should have be added.

Help / Re: Hosting Problems

Maybe there was an update of your firewall or any other program that may interfere?

Try to ping your brother and let him ping back.
(assuming you are both on Windows)
Open Command prompt: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/open-a-command-prompt-window
Commands: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AimCNTzDlVo
Use Ipconfig to find your and your brothers IP and do a ping with the port 280000 to each other
Your IP and port will be something like 192.168.0.xxx:280000

You could have used macros, but that is probably above your skill level at the moment.
That time will come. I think the default controls are ctrl+Q to start and stop 'recording' and ctrl+X to replay said recording.
Otherwise you'll need to look in the controls menu.

After downloading you have to start a custom game and activate that addon.
You will probably also like the fillcan. It recolors all bricks of the same color that are next to each other.

It may be the case that your firewall is blocking the communication.
Have you tried turning that off?
