Help / Re: Game crashes after being attacked by bot
« on: March 08, 2014, 01:32:36 AM »
Do you have the previous bot events still installed?
Maybe you activated an event in your list that force loads those.

Like, I use the old bot events but I had activated the event "onBotDamage" that force loaded bot hole events and they conflicted with each other.

Try to paste a console log or only start a server with the bot hole events selected.
If you delete the bot hole events, it redownloads them when you start Blockland, maybe this fixes it.

Help / Re: How do i make a dedicated server run with my laptop off
« on: March 08, 2014, 01:21:31 AM »
A server needs processing power, if your computer is asleep it doesn't process anything.
So in short, you can't.

You can however change some settings so you can close your laptop without it going to sleep, if you didn't already.

If you don't use that laptop for playing but only for hosting or you can find an other one. You can place it in a closet somewhere and access it using a program called "Teamviewer"

Help / Re: Can't Save My Builds
« on: March 05, 2014, 01:14:45 PM »
You can get my console.log here.
I couldn't find any lines referring to a save command, only load commands.
Did you try to save within this console log?

Suggestions & Requests / Re: EMP Tool
« on: March 05, 2014, 01:03:36 PM »
Interesting idea, I was thinking of an explosion that temporary disables cars, but this is even better!
The only thing I don't agree on is the trust-only.
If you want to use it in a minigame where everyone can detonate an EPM, you would need to give everyone trust.

No, instead make it minigame only and only on bricks by players in that minigame. Maybe even always incorporate the host of the minigame so it works when it is a dedicated minigame.

Can be used to lock doors behind you if you are being chased :P

Suggestions & Requests / Re: Event_onRandomActivate
« on: March 02, 2014, 05:59:12 PM »
You mean like VCE?

OnActivate > Self > ModVariable [Random] set [5]
OnActivate > Self > ModVariavle [Random] Random [1]
OnActivate > Self > IfVariable [Random] = [1]
OnVariableTrue > ... input your events

It randomly picks a number between 5 and 1 and if that number is 1 your events will execute

How do I customize the bots appearance? I see three boxes but I don't know what they stand for.

Like Mrmii21 said. If you set those events the first time and press "send" it will fill in those boxes on its own to your current avatar.

#2
How do I make a bot just stand and not move...
Setting the bot powered off it will make it do nothing:
OnBotSpawn > Bot > SetPowered > Off

#2
...also to do a gesture for a short period of time and then stop.

To do this you need an event that triggers the bot target so you can select it in the second column.
Events like: OnBotActivate, OnBotTouch, OnBotInWater, OnBotSpwn, OnBot......
Then select bot and select PlayGesture or PlayAnimation or something like that.

Help / Re: People can't join my server
« on: March 02, 2014, 10:49:28 AM »
Same problem here , but I can't port forward. What firewall do I disable?
If you are on Windows, just type in "Firewall" after clicking start.
Or if you have a other program like ZoneAlarm, try disabling that.

Everyone can Port Forward, some can't do it on their own modem and need to go to a website of their ISP.
But Port Forwaring isn't necessary to being able to join. So if you haven't messed in it yet don't do it.

833
Hmm, if you say you only have it sometimes it can't be your firewall.
Maybe a family member is using the internet intensely?

Does this happen with any other website/game?
Blockland is undergoing some server changes once in a while, so always check this if you are having troubles:

Help / Re: VCE - Is this necessary?
« on: March 01, 2014, 01:28:29 PM »
VCE checks for every OnVariableTrue/False on that brick.
If you want to check for multiple variables you need to use the [blank] textbox

So to clean up your code, just delete the second retroCheck, otherwise you execute everything twice:

onActivate > Self > VCE_retroCheck > ifPlayerScore > >= 2500 [blank]
onVariable True > Client > incScore > [-2500]
onActivate > Client > CenterPrint > no need to worry here
onVariableTrue > Teleport(Brick) > setPlayerTransform
onVariableFalse > Client > CenterPrint > no need to worry here

Maybe you have port forwarded your server to a different computer.
Or you have port forwarded and didn't set a static IP.

If that's not the case, try disabling your Firewall.

General Discussion / Re: Bi-Polar Server Operation
« on: February 28, 2014, 03:32:45 AM »
Interesting.
The only thing you really need is a auto load system.
There already is a auto save system, so you need to host both servers from the same computer and let one save to a certain file and let the other load it after the first one is done saving.

But what I fear is when it loads on the other server, it has to delete all bricks first, otherwise events or deleted bricks are still there. This can break the current deathmatch because everyone dies of fall damage or gets stuck in bricks.

Suggestions & Requests / Re: Improved Event System
« on: February 28, 2014, 03:07:07 AM »
I like it!
It can make eventing much easier even though it doesn't look that way.
When eventing, you usually have loads of the same input events. This combines those into a single line.
The rest may be harder to code if it isn't default, but it would add a lot of features and flexibility!

Suggestions & Requests / Re: Anti-Lag please?
« on: February 26, 2014, 08:31:34 PM »
Is that even real?
Yes, it is entirely possible to download hardware, after downloading it prints itself on a electrical board and you can plug it into your computer. All the computer specialists do it. But they don't want you to know so they can charge money for it. /

Ontoppic: Like others have said, it is probably your internet connection.
If you want you can test the speed here:
http://www.speedtest.net
I get about 98Mbps download and 5.7Mbps upload.
For a server, the upload is the most important. Higher = less lag

Other possibilities are maybe your computer, but I don't think you are also having lag problems.
Or maybe it is your router. If it is ancient it can be the bottleneck of your connection.
Also check if one of your family members isn't downloading research, the boobs can also slowdown your connection. Gay research is allowed.

General Discussion / Re: Return To Blockland domain for sale!
« on: February 24, 2014, 07:47:12 PM »
how much is the domain anyways
About 10$ for a year for a .com website.
This only lays a link to your host server so people don't have to type in the IP, so it does not include server maintenance cost or the data on that server.
