RUSTED SUN

What is Rusted Sun?

Rusted Sun is an RPG whose world I've been making with other friends for the past few years, taking smaller projects and ideas and putting them all into one. I dreamt of an RPG that could be like a mix between Fallout, Shadowrun and Wasteland, but with some robots vs humans action a la Terminator style. I also dreamt of a game that had a living world with story and exploration. There would be love, war, profit and loss, this would be a game about immersion and getting in deep with the world. This dream became Rusted Sun, an RPG about our world during the NEXUS wars. It's all about survival and tactics, making sure you can keep one step ahead of your enemies and leading your party to victory and glory. This is an idea I've used for a few of my OCs and decided to develop it into its own standalone world and story.

So if it's just and idea, why are you pitching it to us?

I want this idea to flourish and grow, but I need fresh ideas from the outside to help with the story and mechanics. That's why I'm coming to others to help this turn into one heck of a RPG. I hope to develop and publish it, or at least get it to a tabletop and playable format. If you can help me, that would be greatly appreciated and you'll be given credit where credit is due.

Look at this stuff, this is my motherloving favorite food ever. And today, I'm showing you how to make this loving gourmet dish.

First, rip this stuff open.

After boiling some notherloving scalding hot hell water, open the lid. Oven mitts are for pussies.

Pour that stuff in.

Now stir the forget out of it, make sure you have a velocity of too loving rad with your stirring.

Now waterboard that strainer for being such a pusillanimous individual ass bitch (picture removed by the CIA, they don't want their cover blown). Then stir the stuff out of it again to get all the water out of the way.

Next, put it back into the pot, and stir the stuff out of it while put in the gooey and creamy goodness.

Give your macaroni a good rub, oh yeah, nice and hot, hot and cheesy mac, yeaaaaaaah boy.

Now you are done with this perfect stuff!

Enjoy motherforgeters! ;^)

I'm now certified with PCPro and NetworkPro from TestOut.

I got a feeling that I should start pursuing either a Microsoft cert or any of the CompTia equivalents, maybe even Linux+.

Silico's DJ Den

What is it?

If you haven't used plug.dj yet, then you need to get out from underneath your rock and explore it. This specific plug.dj community is meant for more than just the Blockland community, encompassing others to bring a wide variety of music to listeners. We are open to most genres and have open mic (as I call it) most of the time, there will be special events in which dedicated DJ's and admins pop on to play specific genres. So spread the word, bring your friends and enjoy some music.

But we already have a unofficial one

That's fine, that one is meant for the Blockland community however, this one, as previously mentioned will encompass others.

Rules (please read these before actually going into the DJ wait list)

1. Only music, nothing else (ytpmv/mad is allowed under special conditions)
2. No earrape
3. No spamming in chat
4. Be friendly
5. No research, shock, screamers, etc links in chat
6. Please no pony/fandom music, it only pisses people off and starts fights
7. Songs must be less than 10 min

Breaking rules 2 and 5 are permanent bans. The rest are 7 days.

YTPMV Rules: Must not be longer than 5 min and no earrape

A good rule of thumb is to always check a video or soundcloud clip before queuing it, in order to prevent any unnecessary bans.

Today's Menu is:

Open Mic! Come and Play!

Forum Games / Pass or Fail - Chapter 2: Die Führer, Die!
« on: March 23, 2015, 06:47:50 PM »

(or how I died from dice)

This is a game about luck and dice. I set up a scenario, you attempt to solve the problems and finish objectives within it. All successes or failures are determined by a roll of a d10 and a percentile. Any fatal damage you take will set up a death roll, which will be determined by a d8.

Action Rolls

<=9: Critical Failure: You definitely fail the action and it will cause something horrible to happen in turn. Damage will more than likely be done.
10 - 29: Failure: You failed, but not so badly, still bad though. You may take damage to yourself or break something.
30 - 49: Slight Failure: Action fails, don't do anything.
50 - 69: Slight Success: Action succeeds, but not much happens.
70 - 89: Success: Action succeeds, works to the fullest extent.
>=90: Critical Success: Action succeeds, in fact it's doubly effective and brings a bonus to you.

Death Roll

1 or 8: Whoops, you died. Either wait for a revive or the next scenario.
2, 3, 6, 7: Yay, you aren't bleeding out, now get back to rollin.
4 or 5: Still in bleedout. Not dead, but paralyzed.

Morale check

When scared, you will roll a d8 much like the death roll, only instead of dying, you flee. There is no inbetweens, you either get scared or don't.

1, 4, 5 or 8 - Fleeing
2, 3, 6 or 7 - Not Fleeing

Benevolence Gods

The gods of benevolence will smile apon you in times of chaos. If you all manage to roll failures during a turn, the benevolence gods will roll to see if they can help you. Their rolls follow like yours.

Chaos Gods

The gods of chaos will become involved when everyone succeeds in their rolls. They will try to screw you up as much as possible. Their rolls work in opposite to yours. Fail for you is a success for them, etc.

Boss Battle

Occassionally a boss battle may be triggered, whether it's apart of the scenario or a chaos roll. Their rolls work like the chaos gods rolls do.

So I was playing super hexagon a couple days ago on my phone and decided to take a look at the global leaderboards. And by god you won't believe what I've seen.

I did the math and it would take over thousands of years to get. Like wtf.

Games / Favorite DOS games
« on: February 21, 2015, 06:42:39 AM »
Discuss your favorite DOS games and why.

For me, a lot of the DOS games that I played were mostly FPSs. This is my list, not in any order.

1. Duke Nukem Series. Why shouldn't it be on my list, both the platformers and the 2(1/2)d versions of it require quite a bit of praise. It's a classic in my opinon and will always be on my list of must plays.
2. DooM. Another classic game about just killing demons from forgetin hell, how metal is that? It's fun and fast paced, I still play 2 frequently along with other WADs and PAKs. The very fact that it also has a constantly alive community making content for it is amazing for any game that hs lasted as long as it has.
3. Wolfenstein 3D. Simple enough, you have to kill national socialists and win WWII. Also mechaRiddler is a thing in that game.
4. Commander Keen. Fun platformer for DOS and certainly a must play for anyone who wants to relieve in the DOS days.
5. Rise of the Traid: The Dark War. Probably one of the hardest FPSs of its time. Made by appogee, it was a fastpaced shooter much like DooM, but it was very insane due to the fact that you had to platform like a motherforgeter, before platforming in a 3d game was viable. Still fun, pop it in at any time for instant fun and hilarity.
6. Mechwarrior (2 more specifically, 4 wasn't playable on DOS). A game and series that me and another friend really enjoyed. While yes it has aged quite a bit, it's still a great Mechwarrior game that everyone should play at least once.
7. SIMCity. Ah yes, another classic, both the first one as well as 2000 are worthy of praise. One of the greatest simulation games of its time and certainly time consuming.
8. Command and Conquer. Yes there was actually RTSs for DOS, one of them being my favorite RTS series. Extremely aged, but still a worthy must play.

I know I left out some, but these are the games that I hold the closest.

And the criticisms go flying.

To be honest, SYRSA handled it poorly. Poor guy, he should've found outside help with the mechanics and gameplay.

Mouth hurts like hell, glad they gassed me out for it.

I only had two out, impacted and hadn't rooted. They said it was a great time to take them out with literally 2 days recovery.

I've been playing the Reelism Mod recently to pass the time. I kinda want to know if there are any more fun doom wads or paks out there that are fun and could give me a really good laugh or a couple good wtfs.
