If an alien blitzkrieg just came out of nowhere, would we really stand a chance?

It's a great question, and I think that a game mode like this would just be very difficult, and need amazing organization and skill to accomplish saving your own ass during the invasion.

Now all we need is someone with enough free time and/or skill to turn this idea into an actual game mode

There were supposed to be soldier/police NPCs that the general could command, and send to several different places in the city. I also think that players should be able to arm rescued civs to fight

The whole encounter is supposed to last less than 30 minutes, and focuses on defending against an extremely powerful force, not relying on outside sources for help, besides the rescuers.
