Help / Re: help with putting weapons into the game.
« on: June 30, 2008, 09:37:04 PM »
on portal gun the first folder is add-Ons then itemicons, shapes, and sounds

Extract the package to C:/Program Files/Blockland.

it gets into the game fine but how do i spwon the wepon?

Alright... When you are first creating a server, open the addons dialog by clicking on the addons button, and make sure Tool_PortalGun is checked with a tick.

Then, in-game, hit your wrench on any brick, and under the Item drop down list (3rd one down) open it and select portalgun then press send.  The portalgun should appear above the brick.

Good luck.

Help / Re: How do I use a new map?
« on: June 30, 2008, 03:04:56 AM »
Chances are that either the map is corrupt or an addon you are using is not compatible with this map.

When setting up a server, click addons and disable them all.  Still having this problem?  Try redownloading this map's main file again.  Main file should be in .mis and .ter.

Good luck.

Help / Re: Invalid Packet 12?
« on: June 30, 2008, 02:52:48 AM »
I believe it is an addon that is incompatible with these maps, either that or it is a corrupt map.

For the first scenario:
When starting a server, open the addons dialog and disable all addons.  See if this works.

Second scenario:
Reinstall the maps.

Good luck.

Help / Re: prints
« on: June 30, 2008, 02:16:14 AM »
Seems weird.  Is it just for the one server? because if it is, its probably a corrupt print on their behalf.  If it is like it for all servers, it means that one of your prints is not a valid decal size.  Change all your prints to a good size, 512x512 pixels.  Use a free program like paint.Net (www.getpaint.net) or Gimp (www.gimp.org).

Good luck.

Try reinstalling the addon.  Any old corrupt versions of the addon should automatically be replaced.

Help / Re: Invailed packet 12

Chances are that you installed a mod recently that stuffed something up in the inner-workings of the /Blockland folder.  Try reinstalling Blockland, but make sure to keep a backup of your saves at Blockland/base/saves.

Best of luck.  Sorry i didnt give you a more detailed example, but everytime i open a folder in explorer i get an adware thing wanting to download a virus onto my system, better go deal with that before it does any damage.

Adios.

Most weapons and addons you download from the forums are ready for extraction to the main blockland folder.  To put that into edible English, If you download a addon/weapon with a .rar or .zip extention, open it (with WinRAR, http://www.rarlabs.com) and see what the first folder is called.  If it is called 'base' (no caps) then press the extract button up in the top toolbar of WinRAR.  Extract it to C:/Program Files/Blockland.

If the first folders name is not base, then post what it is called here and i will help you...

The default letterset backup can be downloaded here:

If you still have the problem, try downloading my alternate letterset and tell me what happens:

Good luck.

Forgot to say, extract the backup to your main blockland folder (for Windows: C:/Program Files/Blockland/

Help / Re: Help hosting a server
« on: June 30, 2008, 01:29:22 AM »
I had this problem ages ago... For me it was Windows firewall having a spaz...

If you are running Windows firewall:

Start>Control Panel>Windows Firewall.

On the Exceptions tab, click 'Add Port...' and enter the details:
Name: blockland
Port: 28000
TCP/UDP: TCP

Do it again, but this time click UDP, see below:

Name: blockland
Port: 28000
TCP/UDP: UDP

While you are there, check to see if Blockland.exe is on the list.  If it isnt, click 'Add Program...' and search for Blockland.exe and add it.

It seemed to not matter whether windows firewall was on or off, but this fixed it.
I am not sure what to do for vista, but shouldnt be too different.

Best of luck.
