So the second one is better?
Not really.
Whilst the 6870 is near equal to the GTX560, AMD video cards tend to work better with AMD CPUs, so the first one would mean marginally better performance.
Also, if you really want and need a laptop, I suggest this:

Are you really comparing some kid who's computer broke to a starving AIDS infested African child?
Africans should be given contraceptive.

You can get a free trial thru someone.
I think DeFranco does one.
Think it's netflix.com/phillyd
Not sure though.

How do I completely wipe the computer.
To COMPLETELY wipe it fresh, you'll need an OS disk to install Windows again.
Also, there is a nifty thing that I found that should help you with things like this:
www.google.com

It will remove ANYTHING that has been put on your computer up to the last time you updated your CPU
No.
If it's a reasonably advanced virus, it will either disable the System Restore feature altogether or will infect it, causing the virus to be there after a restore again.
Also, updated your CPU? I think you've used the wrong wording there.

I was 7 when it happened, and watched it all on the news.
Got a day off of school for it.

Don't make a statement helping someone if you're completely loving wrong. You're just going to cause problems.

Also always take ati for pcs and AMD's for laptops.
Are you that dumb?
They are the same brand loving idiot.
AMD owns ATI. They are the same thing.

It's a good list, only thing that's bad is the video card but you did say it's just until you get a better one.

However the PSU is quite bad. I'd suggest that to be your next upgrade before your video card.

An HD6250 is 2 generations newer, so will support later technologies and it is in fact approximately 1.5x more powerful.
But do note that these are still both low end cards.

when you have divorced parents and the need for something easy to move around, you'll see.
Alienware/Dell are not the way to go though.
Asus are better and cheaper for specs. If you have a lot of money, get a Falcon Northwest custom laptop.

How could you forget something up with it? It's literally plugging stuff into slots and using a screwdriver. There's no reason that you shouldn't be able to do that.

The only thing I'd be concerned about with somebody new to it is trying to force things, using too much heat compound, and static. But all three are easily solved by not being dumb.
Ask MegaScience. He was really unconfident going in to it and whilst I was able to guide him thru it over MSN flawlessly, he nearly had a meltdown.
It took a lot of talking and sorting things out to get him through it emotionally, lol. I built my first computer when I was 9; I guess I forgot the stress? Or maybe everyone is different.
