Intel Core 2Duo Cpu E7500, 2.93GHz, 2Cpus. Works good for what I use if for.
Either way you put it, 3.4 is going to be better than 2.8.
Not everyone has $3,000 to use to buy a laptop.
I know they don't. I've only posted the falcon thing in about 3 topics, and this one I was explaining it to Ladios. I don't know why you got all defensive.

Any idea what socket your motherboard is, and what expansion slots you have for a video card?

If you examine my post edit I made, The difference is more than just quality.
The Falcon is basically an expensive door stop when you purchase it.

Thought I'd also mention my stuffty overpriced dell from almost two years ago costs about $700 or so without the monitor.
And It is better than that Mach V in almost every way.
4 GB ram, 2.9 Ghz, etc.
Yes, they are overpriced, but they are put together by the best prebuilt people. They also make one of the most powerful laptops if you have the money. You can't exactly build your own laptop, so if you needed one, it's there.

Also, 2.9GHz Pentium would suck, but a 2.9GHz i7 whips ass. You need to be specific.

since im seeing acers, i remembered something about my mom's laptop
it has a 1.2 ghz processor and an almost 2GB graphics card
they don't mix together
Are you sure, or is the GPU integrated and using the system memory?

You mention this in every computer topic.
I've viewed their site, and I am sure they are quality.
But they are so loving over priced. You should know that you are paying for that whole "We build aircraft computer systems" gimmick.
Sure, I'm sure they make fancy aircraft computers.. what does that have to do with the whole thousand dollar paint job on the case that they want me to pay for?
I guess it is just Preference, because I would never buy one.
Quality is well worth the price. When it comes to computers, unless you want an expensive door stop in a years time, you've gotta pay for the extra quality of the components, and the fact that they custom build laptops isn't cheap either.

Or if he doesn't want to spend that bit more:

I've had nothing but good experience with Acers.

First off if you want it for games you should go for a desktop computer.
Whilst I agree with this for the most part, there are some great gaming laptops out there with more of a CPU/GPU balance than the non gaming laptops, which seem to have a good CPU and nothing else.

You should've asked before buying, there's many better laptops we could've recommended for you.
Alienware = Dell. Dell = bad quality, overpriced.
Just hope it doesn't turn into a paperweight in a year or so's time.

Also, ladios, Falcon Northwest are the best thing besides building one yourself. They used to build aircraft computer systems, and use the best quality parts. If I ever got a laptop, it'd have to be a Falcon NW.

I used to be part of Australia's best rushing team, and I can rush any map solo without getting downed or pounced. But if you get the whole team together, all. loving. hell.

« on: July 23, 2011, 03:08:18 AM »
You can force it.
I only have 1GB VRAM and I just use a command to force it.
It works just fine, it's just kinda weird because it will suddenly go into slow motion, not like a framerate drop, just it turns all slow motion-y for a second. It's weird. I think it's trying to get it from my slow hard drive and is weird.
Holy stuff, that happens to me, but I don't need to force it, cause it allows me to.

Ah. Well, I remember you for some reason, lol
Holy stuff, you're beachbum?

Anyway, on topic, you'd be better to get the 2GB version if you play a lot of high res games, or want future proofing.
However, list the GPU, cause if it's low end, it may not be worth it.

Dell is more of a work computer than a gaming one
I wasn't talking about them being gaming or whatever, I meant the general quality of the parts they use.
