People don't supply budget when they say they want a computer. They aren't all the same price D:

It's not too bad, especially if it's the GPU.
Most modern GPU's are built to withstand upwards of 100 degrees Celsius. But from experience that tool isn't accurate. It reports totally wrong temperatures, for me, at least.

If I had to get a laptop, the only people I'd trust to build it would be Falcon Northwest, however they can be expensive, but they used to build military aircraft computer systems, so you know they're good.
I'm trying to configure a balanced build for you right now.

Anyway, in all seriousness, I wouldn't get a Dell (alienware). Whats the budget for this computer?

If you're not interested in building one yourself, the best is
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883227314
But Spec has already posted that. The GPU is better in this one too.

My grandparents are both adamant that they are called gits.
WTF?

"PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA"

I tried to connect with the old wireless card, and I got blue screen with the above error. Does that help?
Like I've been saying on MSN, this is a memory error.

Also, the numbers are the most useful part of the BSOD.

Whats your current GPU that you will keep?
Do you need a monitor?

PS that Falcon guide is bullstuff, don't post if you don't know, DNA.

Off Topic / Re: Can someone explain how 12V rails in a PSU work?
« on: July 19, 2011, 09:29:38 PM »
From what I understand, each 12V rail has a certain wattage which is pretty much the total wattage divided by how many rails there are. If your PSU requires say 350W at full load, it's beneficial to have a PSU that is say 500W with 1 12V rail, or a 700W with no more than 2 rails (2x350W).
This is crucial for SLI or Crossfire configurations, where 2 12V rails can be better as each is getting it's recommended wattage separately. Say you SLI 2 5850s, each require 500W on their own, or about 800W as a Crossfire. If you got a 1000W with 2 12V rails, each would be getting their needed wattage separately.

Then again, I'm not sure I'm right. I haven't truly studied it. But I do know that if you get one with too many, the GPU may not be getting however much wattage it needs. It's best to stick with 1 for most configurations.

the only down-side to fraps is it saves them as uncompressed files, so a 2 minute recording will be like 3 gigs, lol.
You can choose to save them as half size, which, well, halves the size.
Also, there was a free tool I had that compressed them to about 1/10th of their size without losing any quality, I can't remember what it was called though.

Step 4: Go on My Little Pony thread
Step 5: Post
Step 6: ???
Step 7: Profit.

Not all of us are PC geeks.
He posted it for the ones of us that are.
Now that I look through it, it's great.
The GPU is lacking quite a bit, he will have a few problems recording some games that are a bit more graphically intense, than say, L4D.
