Well then, I'll just hope for the best and pray it's not integrated (although it probably will be). But even then, it's better than the piece of stuff I'm using now.
It is integrated. And it's only a Pentium, so I'd imagine it would be HD2000. :|

uh
what
It's pretty much a technology, SRT technology, that without going too deep into it, pretty much boosts the speed of your entire 1TB hard drive to speeds of SSD drives, which are a LOT faster.

It's only $380 dollars, and it's better than the computer I have now in every way. If that's not reason enough to buy it, then I don't know what is. Also, my computer is running Windows Vista 32-bit, the computer I'm getting is running Windows 7 64-bit. Plus, how the forget is it outdated by 5-years?
You're judging the computer on the OS, RAM and HDD. These are the wrong things to judge it on. The speed won't be that good because of the processor and the graphics chip. Those are the things that matter.

windows is ~30GB iirc

and they cost around $60 for it but it cuts boot time down to like 20 seconds.
8 or so seconds.
You put your most used programs on it too.
Or, use SRT to cache the whole 1TB drive for speeds SSD-like for all of your data. But you will need the z68 board for that.

Yeah, it's pretty good, but there's a couple of things I would change.

1. The motherboard has an earlier chipset that has a few problems. Personally I would get a motherboard with a Z68 chipset, which has more features and most of the bugs have been ironed out. For example:

2. I would definitely be getting an SSD boot drive for a computer in this price range. Although that's entirely up to you whether or not you want the extra speed.

3. The sound card isn't really necessary unless you're a big sound guru or you have a headset or something that needs one. I guess it's only $15 though.

4. The monitor is only 1600x900 resolution, and the computer is so powerful that it will be bottlenecked at this resolution. I'd suggest a 1080p monitor to fully utilize the computer's horsepower.
One like:

EDIT: Oh, and 16GB of memory is a bit much TBH. 8GB would be ample, unless you have a use for the extra.

Are you joking?

This website actually tells what the pins are, which seems to vary: http://pinouts.ru/Slots/PCI_pinout.shtml
In response to PM, since I can't reply:
Haha nah, I knew you weren't being rude.

I apologise, I was thinking about PCI-E, in which the first segment of pins are for power delivery and anything after that, whether 1x, 4x, 8x or 16x, are for data.

yeah but the GPU is horrid

and you have 3TB of space
Where does it say that?

it's a core part

i would understand not knowing what a tiny part like the forth pin in a PCI slot is but a PSU?
The fourth pin is power delivery :P

That's all you really need for your system. Anything more is overkill, and Corsair is a great brand.

Get a mechanical keyboard, not a membrane keyboard.

I think from memory the Cherry MX Red switches are the best.

guys

i have an ati radeon 6750 hd gpu

when i try to overclock it by any amount, the drivers keep crashing

any ideas?
What are you using to overclock it? Download MSI afterburner and try in there. But do be careful, like, go up by 25mhz, then go test it, and make sure it's all good and the temperatures are fine, then go put it up by another 25mhz and test again. Don't push it too far.

remember that guy who said he wanted a SSD for his laptop because apparently a harddrive wont work in his conditions?

well, i can officially call bullstuff.

i was using my laptop in a car under VERY bumpy conditions.
it may as well be in bumpsville, but when i used it, the HDD slowed down to survive these conditions.

garrys mod took like 2 minutes to start up, unlike when i used it on the battery when i started it up in a non bumpy place.
SSDs would be the same speed as in a non bumpy place for obvious reasons, but browsing files and coding with the exception of compiling worked nearly instantly so i dont know why he said that.
music was an instant to start up.

using my laptop through the entire 4 hours battery life and im typing this out now.
whoever said that is talking major bullstuff.

i dont even know how long ago it was either so i cant find the post.
Yeah, but why risk having data corrupted by an HDD, when an SSD will work super fast in those conditions and there's really no risk of any of the moving parts collapsing or anything?
