you know those are just uniforms, right? they're not for use in combat
Four words: Waste of tax dollars

Yes but some of them don't even use their uniforms to operate war machines

Infantry are core part of any army

Another turd that our government like to throw money at besides stealth technology is stuffty camouflage.

Doesn't blend in with anything except for the gravel on the base and grandma's couch. However the pattern is being retired and being replaced with a Scorpion W2:

however they are trying to apply the one size fits all scheme to camouflage. What works in the desert isn't going to work in a forrest/city/arctic. Another problem is that Army Combat Uniform is not all that durable as the old Battle Dress Unform and Desert Camouflage Uniform. All this started just because the USMC wanted to be unique and copy the Canadians failed cadpat pattern. Now every branch has their own stupid uniform and pattern.
Airforce:

Pretty useless for a branch that spends most of its time in the office and hangers. Who knew there were jungles in the office?

Navy:

Blends with the ship and the water. Kind of useless seeing as how the ship is the target and not you. Good luck being found after going overboard.

USMC:

Doesn't wander too far from the DCU and BDU, works out alright. Now people can tell the difference from a marine and a soldier, however this thing started the whole stupid concept.

Olive Drab is still pretty much the Univerisal camo.

Anyway, yeah stealth is pretty useful. However it is not full proof. Just because you are harder to detect on radar doesn't mean you can still be targeted by infrared missiles.

Another problem with that newer and better radar systems are always being made. Good luck investing in research and spending money to make a new stealth fighter to replace the one that just got obsolete.

Another problem with jets like the f-35 and f-22 is that there weapon systems are built around the redesign of the hull. If one problem is encountered, it will be unfixable because you would have to entirely re-design the hull and you basically designing a new jet.

The F-35 is also a big joke. It was supposed to be a cheaper stealth plane with multi-role capability. Instead you end up with a jet slower than a f-16 with an internal weapons by. Oh and get this, they want to replace the A-10 with it by placing weapon pylons the wings which will defeat the purpose of its stealth role.

If you ask me, everyone is better off with Gen 4, 4.5 fighters, and drones. If they are going with 5th gen, they should axe the stealth thing. There hasn't been a major war in awhile, all the US and Russians do is pick on small nations that are too small or poor to defend themselves. Major wars are still possible, but they aren't as likely to happen as the small wars and counter insurgencies.

Rest in piece all the souls on board, and those poor soldiers who shot it down
For the record Pro-Russian rebels claimed to have shot it down.

Also this wouldn't be the first time something like this happened

It's one of those books you have to read out loud. It is also written in a southern dialect.

can we just like
put their characters on auto-play or something
this is getting stupid
1 character did 1 move in the last 5 hours qwepir started the mission

I will attempt to get the flow going for you.

*scans the sky with binoculars*
"Anything on radar?"
The soldier says nothing is on radar.
"Carry on. I will tell the radar units to maintain being active."

my roommate was from Sacramento and he was one of the most annoying guys I have ever known. "IM HELLA STOKED BRAH" "NORCAL LIFE BRAH"
"Stoked"? "Brah"? Who the hell talks like that? It sounds like they were trying to be an annoying, living, breathing beach dweller stereotype. In my area the most I hear is homie, dude, bro, and several variants of my brother.

Then again I'm from the central valley, which is a different place than compared to the typical NorCal places like the Silicon Valley, San Jose, Davis, San Francisco, Berkly and Sacramento.

I think he should have definitely had a partner with him. If I was a cop I'd never do anything alone. Not only because I'm a little bitch, but also because if things go haywire, then I have backup.

But the officers screaming in the dashcam video scares the piss out of me.
Depends on the department, sometimes you have to go in by yourself. Having a partner can help, but if you lower your guard there is a chance that your partner has their guard down as well because they think you got their back.

this video is depressing, and that cop took the benefit of doubt of the man to keep him alive rather than shoot after his first few warnings... ended up with the officer dead

there should be a standard warning system, 3 warnings and its shots fired. he warned the dude 9 times before he shot.
also andrew brannan (the real guy who killed kyle dinkheller) is still alive. he was given the death sentence but it still has not been done yet. he killed kyle when he was 50, now he is 66 and is still alive and well even though he does not deserve to live.

honestly they should have torturous death sentences for people like this...
It depends on the department and what there policy is and state laws. He could have shot the man as soon as he pointed the gun at him.

It should also be noted that he is a deputy and not a metro cop. Deputies are far and few between out in the county, so backup could be 10 minutes away or 40 minutes away. Also all shootings are investigated and record much paper work. Out in California in a city near me, there was an officer who got a call about a suspicious activity in the airport district. So the officer gets there and finds a guy who fit the description, they end up getting a physical fight. He called for back up, but they couldn't find the officer. By the time back up came the officer had been fighting the guy for 11 minutes and was on the ground wrestling with the suspect. By the time they pulled the suspect off the officer passed out. Also to add, is that taking a life is a big thing that sticks with you for life and can haunt you. You can't be a full pacifist with this type of job, sometimes things can be settled with words and other times you need to kick ass.

Another thing to note if the defense finds a weakness, they will exploit it and it could cost the officer his job or reputation if fowl play is suspected or forged. Thankfully he have dashcams and cameras that can be worn and can be used against the defense.

Quite a shame that people who watch FOX news and CNN think that all cops are bad and nothing, but talk stuff about the police. However they always end up calling the police when they need help.

Considering the way the S-Tank is used wouldn't it be reasonable to just label it as a Tank Destroyer anyway?
That works.

True though, it was made to fight in the forests and occupy narrow roads surrounded by trees with the intent of slowing down the advancing soviet tanks. It would have been better off in the tank destroyer role like the Stug than in the tank role.

It should also be noted that they still hade the British centurion in service alongside with the S-Tank and IKV 91:
