Games / Re: Wurm Online
« on: April 08, 2010, 10:49:04 AM »
I played Wurm once.

It lagged like ass considering the actual quality of the graphics. Even looking straight down I was getting very low fps with everything turned down. Not saying that the computer was very great but it would run a fair few similar looking games at >100fps.

Modification Help / Re: I wanna make some scripts but...

Despite that Torque files are generally *.cs they are not in C#. Torquescript is a separate language with similar syntax.

[rant]And people will learn by actually reading the forums and by logical deduction.
There is a packaging tutorial as Tezuni said.
There's a topic at the top of this forum titled A great torque functions guide which would imply that the language is Torque or something along those lines (coincidentally the PDF in that topic is a great reference, I use it myself when I forget the arguments for something)
And why would you put an add-on you made/are making anywhere different to any other add-on? If you couldn't figure these things out on your own, odds are you'll have trouble. Not saying you'll fail, not saying you will have trouble, just saying all signs point to it.[/rant]

or use mFloatLength(%num,0); - first arg is the number, second is the number of decimal places, and it rounds the last place correctly.

I keep food in fridge. :o
and i eat pillows

it all balances out

also these awesome cotton boxers I got that are knee-length and have pockets. I've been to the mall wearing them and nobody realized they were boxers, there's just a danger of my rooster poking through the fly-area if I happen to pop a boner

You forgot UNNECESSARY AGGRESSION.
BUT WHAT OTHER KIND OF AGGRESSION IS THERE?!

Funny, my new computer arrived this morning not two hours ago.

Pretty similar specs... just non-trichannel memory, about five gigs less of it, and a HD5850 instead of 5870. Sides from that identical. After exchange rates, about $600AUD cheaper I'd guess.

Why buy the game and have to wait forever to play it
Why whine that you can't play the game if you haven't bought it anyway

Games / Re: Spore Hero.

Actually, the original "scientific" look was battered down by the EA team that wanted to put an aspect in spore to attract a bigger customer base.
And I'm pretty sure a ton of other things were simplified for them as well.

When I first saw Spore in 06 sometime I thought "OH forget YEAH THIS LOOKS AWESOME".

When I first saw the new 'kiddy look' whenever they did that, I thought "I'll still get it for the creature customization and stuff".

And silly me, I bought it at a store with no return policy. As awesome as the concept is, and as little actual potential as there was for them to really forget it up, they did. It just feels stuffty. Tacky. It got dumbed down way too far, and everything in the game is just so simplistic and repetitive that it's just boring as stuff. And it's not challenging! I first played in a net cafe and got to the space stage in less than four hours. And then when I played it at home, I couldn't even stand it for that long. Just got so boring after the tribal phase, the gameplay just becomes literally point and click with no actual thought involved. And you can choose to take the peaceful path, except it's loving identical. Your projectiles just look like sound instead of missiles, but the effect is exactly the same! Your choices don't matter. The effort you put into evolving your creature doesn't matter. At the end of the game you will have the exact same as someone who makes snake monsters and thinks they're funny.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is the bitter moment of the morning. Now I'm off to take a massive stuff somewhere else

SPORE + ZYNGA + BLUEBALLS IN MY HEAD ALL AT ONCE FFFFUUUUUU

I haven't even bought the game yet, idiot.
Then why the hell does it matter that your laptop is away?

SELF-DEFEATING LOGIC, GOOO!

Snipped.
So I actually put myself through reading that enormous run-on paragraph. Maybe if you actually used proper structure people would read your posts, and maybe if you didn't type it as if you translated the entire post to Spanish and back using Google Translate, you wouldn't be misunderstood.

First of all, when Heed pointed out where you were contradicting yourself, he was exactly right. You ignored that, which is one of the things you're supposedly against - ignorance.

Second of all, you constantly state that everyone else is "raging like a child". They present perfectly well-reasoned points against you, and you state that they're "raging". This indicates not only more ignorance but also that you're the one raging - more contradiction. And before you state that "my points are better reasoned", typing more doesn't necessarily mean your reasoning is better.

Now, on to this post specifically which I've removed for the sake of my own sanity. My first point is in what should be the second or even third paragraph.
And besides,at least I don't stare at a screen everyday for 8 hours. You should get out more.
This is disrespectful. This is outright insulting, something you directly state you're not being. Denial and contradiction.

but if you want me to own you by showing light on your idiotic defense so be it. Trust me, the things I said were right.
Elitist much? You just reinforce that attitude with the next sentence. Putting yourself above someone is fine if you don't make a big deal of it, but you've basically thrown it right out there that "I AM RIGHT AND YOU ARE WRONG". Once again, disrespect. In fact, basically your entire post is disrespectful on the whole.

But I guess proving you 2 are a poison to the Society will show things. Now, before you rage more like a child, control your anger and tell me what you thought I was trying to say, and then I'll show you what really was going on.
That first statement wouldn't be so bad if you were following it through to begin with, but you just state that you can without showing any proof. Don't talk about proving things unless you have proof yourself. Then there is of course the blatant insult there, and more elitism.

And then you go on to state that basically if they can tell you what "they think" is going on, then you'll give them the truth. Truth isn't context-sensitive. If you're capable of stating the "truth" in this situation then you should be doing it, not ranting about how everyone else is inferior to you.

In short: Get over yourself. And learn how to separate paragraphs, god damn.

That was the 6th for me. Maybe because I'm from Australia so Google knows I'd rather have my hands on a figure skater's crotch than own an M14 :cookieMonster:

Also check out that mouse. holy stuff that thing looks cool, I googled its name (M-SN1UL BK) and this is what it is. Interesting. I should google single letters more often.

It's not adult material. It's figure skating! My six year old cousin was watching it when the Winter Olympics were on! :cookieMonster:

It also turned up this thing. I want one!

I personally prefer this version's model vastly to heeds; no offense is intended, however this one is a lot more compact and detailed. I don't know why anyone complains about its wheels, either. They look great. The only qualm is with the camo, which doesn't actually look too bad, it's just not what I want. It'd be nice to have several 'skins' of this, regular camo, 'urban' camo (that is, more square shapes than rounded ones) and flat colored, however if I'm right that would basically require several copies of the model which could put download times up pretty high. But still.

Modification Help / Re: TCPObject.listen();
« on: April 02, 2010, 10:19:06 AM »
BobAndRob posted something about all this, just ran through it all in console for a quick test.

For connecting to a Torque TCPobject, the 'server' tcpobject needs an onConnectRequest function, which should look roughly like this:
Code: [Select]
function ServerTCP::onConnectRequest(%this,%ip,%socket)
{
   if(isObject(%this.connection[%ip]))
   {
      echo(%this.getName() @ ": Got duplicate connection from" SPC %ip);
      %this.connection[%ip].disconnect();
      %this.connection[%ip].delete();
   }
   echo(%this.getName() @ ": Creating connection to" SPC %ip);
   %this.connection[%ip] = new TCPobject("",%socket) { class = ConnectionTCP; parent = %this; };
}
function ConnectionTCP::onLine(%this,%line)
{
   // do stuff here
}

Obviously this is just an example but you should be able to figure out what to do with it from there.

I would try and find BobAndRob's post about this though, I have no idea where it was and I'm too lazy to look but I'm sure he probably explained it properly.
