Yes. It would be.
I calmed down, then re-raged and ranted again on MSN.

Weiss says (9:06 PM):
Look at Zynga. currently against VALVe, and I guarantee they will win and may even be able to beat the WoW subscribers.
Weiss says (9:07 PM):
Farmville. Harvest Moon but with all the potential fun cut out and replaced with point-click-wait. Mafia Wars/Vampire Wars, essentially the same game themselves and also the same as thousands IF NOT MILLIONS of other browser games.
Weiss says (9:08 PM):
They beat Rockstar - GTA and Manhunt. They beat NCSoft, Lineage, Aion and Guild Wars which is arguably WoW's only probably competitor in the market ever. They beat Infinity Ward who produced Call of Duty.
What. The. forget.
Weiss says (9:09 PM):
But this blows me out. They also beat Square Enix, ala Final Fantasy, Kingdom Hearts and Dragon Quest. So basically every JRPG gamer in the world would have voted for them, at least the ones who read the Escapist which admittedly probably isn't a huge amount.
Weiss says (9:10 PM):
Basically they released three badly made casual games on Facebook and are likely to actually beat Blizzard in this.
Weiss says (9:12 PM):
Due to the fact that you can vote using your Facebook account, I'm willing to bet that their games automatically vote since they have access to some of your Facebook info. If you've saved your Facebook password which 90% of people do, then their games will undoubtedly have automatically voted, since my mum's a Farmville addict and has seen nothing about this competition.
Yet Zynga acquired literally over a million votes in the span of a day against Square, apparently.
Weiss says (9:14 PM):
However the very fact that Zynga is even in this loving competition states blatantly that it is inherently flawed. We have all the big-time franchise companies and developers of the most popular hardcore gamer lovebugs, and some of the masters of emergent gameplay and innovative concepts and in the middle of all this a loving Facebook app developer?
Weiss says (9:15 PM):
It's like voting for the best breed of dog with bricks as an option. It's just not the same loving thing. It shouldn't loving be there and the fact that it is seems to violate any hint of credibility this competition could have had.
Weiss says (9:16 PM):
Let alone the fact that they're winning despite not even advertising the competition. I don't think the Escapist even has a million readers and the fact that Zynga got that many votes tells me something's up.
