EE3 seems pretty vague and empty of content but it is pretty cool

Frankly my big problem with the tech mods is that they automate everything, like your incentive to play the game is so you don't have to actually play the game. EE3 right now focuses on transmutation as an actual mechanic of its own, not just some other thing you do in your big machine that circumvents needing to do anything yourself anymore.

And his entire reason for doing EE3 is a clean break from EE2. He's not releasing source or rights to EE2 because in his own words it is broken and a total rewrite is the easiest way to fix it. (paraphrased, obviously)

EE3's got a prerelease out on the forums. Pahimar's on a holiday right now, though. Most of the mechanics he's planning on having aren't implemented or revealed yet.

Tekkit is iirc bukkit based, the mods are all ported by the guys at mcportcentral.co.za which is half the reason people hate it

Also heedicalking is more or less right but is still missing the point: Minecraft isn't really about the vanilla singleplayer experience anymore for the vast majority of players, hence the move to multiplayer only (allowing them to focus on the multiplayer codebase more and allowing modders to also only support one platform)
Bad players are going to be bad players, patching their exploits is honestly a waste of time because they will find more. Blockland is locked down pretty loving tightly which is the only reason stuff is actually hard to exploit, that and compared to the people in the Minecraft community the people who work on mods here are practically handicapped (case in point: heedicalking). Blockland modding is more accessible and harder to exploit but as a result is also about fifty metric forgettons more restricted in terms of the functionality that's actually available to us.

The game is best when played with friends on a server that is fairly local to you. At lower latencies it's not a significant issue to play the game - it just gets worse a lot faster as latency increases compared to how Torque handles it.

Also combat should be a focus of the game, as environmental threats are basically null and void. The survival aspect of the game comes from surviving the waves of mobs, and honestly in open ground they're objectively not a threat at all. Without high latency you can survive a night fighting with your bare hands and no armor.

agreeableunnecessary
EDIT: like, not needed at all. i get the point. don't have to add that you're an starfish about it.

Sorry
Happens sometimes maybe I should light up to relax :V

Also after a bit of reading the Washington and Colorado laws are the same on two counts:
  • Legally you can own up to an ounce for recreational use
  • You cannot legally consume it in a public area

And in Colorado, you can have up to six plants for personal growing (but you're not allowed to sell it) - in Washington, growing it is still illegal entirely which is still fine really.

just gonna wade through all the ragemad in the thread and say this

notice how cigarettes and alcohol both have age limits, and both generally do damage. if you're not an idiot, you'll realize that basically everything you put into your body can harm you in some sort of way, regardless of what it does. now both cigarettes and alcohol are legal, yes, but that doesn't mean they can't hurt you. i'm sure all you stoners know that, but do you realize why it would be a very bad idea to legalize it?
think for a second. why is it hard to get alcohol? cigarettes too? they are both not the best of things for you, but they are legal...
...and controlled. a lot. they put taxes and prices onto things such as alcoholic substances, as well as cigarettes. a pack of camels? $15-$20; a pack of bud water beer? anything in between $6-$10. also, both of them have pretty insane limits to who, what, where, when, and how you use them. if (and when) they do legalize everywhere, they are going to do the same thing to weed like they did to alcohol: limit it.

jesus, people, stop posting so i can put my paragraph here

The restrictions on alcohol and cigarettes are far from unreasonable. In fact, I think if something affects your cognitive function it's perfectly normal for it to be illegal to consume publicly, but if it does not cause harm to you from short term use or significantly increase the likelihood you will cause harm to others it shouldn't be illegal outright.

Your entire point against legalization is that it'll be regulated. You're a moron. I actually cannot get past that in my head for long enough to put why you're a moron into words.
Congratulations, you're so stupid you've made me stupid by attempting to quantify how stupid you are.

I don't really have an opinion on this, but doesn't smoking Marijuana have the same bad effects smoking tabacco has with a side of becoming extremely high?
Tobacco itself isn't that harmful, it's mostly the other stuff in cigarettes that causes issues.

please stop claiming that everything is a conspiracy against drugs and that the schools are lying and all that stupidity
We're not claiming everything is a conspiracy or that anyone's lying, but nobody's really distributing accurate information on that count either and your screaming about how it's oh-so-terrible without backing it with anything other than your opinion certainly doesn't help with that.

I don't know why I even need to stress this - education is key. People are told it's bad but never told why or given evidence of it. Give people information and let them form their own opinions of it. The only person who can legitimately tell people they can't smoke it are the parents of that person in question, and even that's only until they reach the age of consent after which nobody is justified in telling them what they can or cannot think. Your pushing your opinions - and they are opinions, though frankly I'd love to see what factual evidence you have if any - on others is only harming their ability to make an educated and independent choice.

I'm totally fine with you not wanting to smoke or drink or whatever else. But the moment you start pushing that on others you're a loving cunt.

Hi
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7MIzMHYpgkQ
You get a hug

That Haunted Shores song is so awesome, dunno why Periphery didn't use it on Periphery 2. Unless it might be going on Juggernaut?
Damn right. I'm not really a fan of the recycling material on Periphery albums (seems like a stuffty thing to do) but I prefer the old Haunted Shores and Bulb stuff to the Periphery originals anyway.

I forgot to mention Machinae Supremacy, too. :C
I'd say progressive is your safest bet, stylistically a kind of power-industrial mix with the techno stuff in it. It's the SID from a Commodore 64 too, which is infinitely loving badass.

Man, I have so much loving music.

82
I added a bunch of stuff to that other post too because I just loving love contributing
Go back a page if you missed it

So I found some really loving awesome ambient/instrumental stuff

Orion - This track. This loving track, man. It fills my head with this weird happy sad feeling. S'forgetin' weird.
Sithu Aye - Listen to Double Helix and the Multiverse tracks off this. loving wow. Also, Grand Unification off Invent the Universe makes me a happy person.

Also, for something heavier/more aggressive, Intervals' The Space Between is also name your price. This stuff is awesome.

In fact, here's a playlist of a whole bunch of weird djenty stuff. Stuff above is included in this playlist, plus a bunch of other interesting stuff.

YEAH INFORMATIVE

Also bands that I think you should mention in the OP:
Soilwork - Melodic Death Metal. Highlights are Late for the Kill, Early for the Slaughter, Distance, Sworn to a Great Divide
Pagan's Mind - Progressive/Power Metal. Highlights are Intermission, God's Equation
Persuader - Power Metal. Twisted Eyes. Nothing more needs to be said. This band is awesome.
Turmion Kätilöt - Industrial Metal. Teurastaja, Minä Määrään. Rammstein, but Finnish and thus marginally crazier.

I have never smoked anything in my life. There are 5 people in my house. My sister and I do not smoke are included in the previous statement. I was born with no breathing problems, but now when I cough wheeze and hack up phlegm. Explain that.
Yes, if you're exposed to second hand smoke a lot of the time (several hours a day) over a long period (over a decade) you sure are gonna develop problems. But a few minutes of second hand smoke from a coworker if you happen to join them on a break isn't gonna cause any problems - only aggravate ones that already existed.

85
i can agree with that. unless he lives with his uncle it's not going to affect his breathing at all, noticablyWell I can't argue with you there. There will be more people smoking something in public. It shouldn't affect you very much, though. Unless you live in a place where there are smokers around every corner.
It's a psychoactive drug, even if it's legal to own and use it probably wouldn't be legal to just smoke it in the street. Much like how it isn't legal (at least here) to drink alcohol in any old public place - only in licensed establishments.

Wait, no equivalent exchange? :(
EE3 is still really early and is also copping a lot of flak from the people who do find and use it and find that it's not loving broken like EE2. Including it in a widely accessible modpack at this point is just inviting yet more trouble, since instead of only the smart dumb people whining about it, the dumb dumb people who can't even install it themselves will see it too.

how to cut gang revenue: get rid of the gangs
if only it were possible to be harsher and simply kill off gang members

how to save government money: stop distributing the drugs in the first place
the war on drugs is less on the people doing the drugs and more on the major cartels that are spreading it throughout the country and world; this would be unnecessary if the same idiots crying out "LEGALIZE MARIJUANA AND SAVE THE COUNTRY'S MONEY" would make the war on drugs unnecessary by not buying/selling illegal drugs

how to- no, i guess that format won't work here
"unless." you will develop a psychological addiction, it's that simple. it will kill braincells and make you generally stupider, both during and after highs.
i'm sorry your life is so awful you are incapable of feeling joy without chemically inducing it
1) Yes let's just murder them because that doesn't require you know severely impacting those around them with the possible trauma of military and/or police raids and increased gang violence since they're being targeted with violence themselves.

2) It is totally possible to just make everyone not buy it that's completely feasible and not a stupid idea at all wow why didn't I think of that
Now how do we do it I'm guessing mass hypnosis or maybe we should all just pray to loving God
If marijuana is legalized and distributed by licensed distributors that means it can be taxed. Most people will buy from these licensed distributors because they're perceived to be safer and more accessible. There's clearly a market for it, so not tapping into that market then complaining when someone else continues to profit from it is loving stupid.

3) Saying "you will" develop a psychological addiction fails to account for the fact that no two people respond the same way to stimuli. I've had friends who smoked literally daily for 4+ months then just stopped because they didn't have the money and didn't suffer for it at all. Clearly every single human being who ever smokes weed will develop a psychological reliance

88
I don't smoke weed these days but I fully support decriminalization and legalization as a global thing. The reasoning behind this is twofold:

a) Marijuana is at best not harmful or addictive chemically, at worst a crutch you can get stuck on in your own head. It isn't going to kill you or adversely affect your long-term well-being, but depending on the person it may adversely affect you in the short term and if you have an addictive personality you will likely end up feeling pretty stuffty without it. But that varies depending on the person, and it comes down to you to take care of you. Make your own choice and don't act like your choice should be applied to others.

b) Marijuana is also not a drug which is likely to lead people to crime. The only marijuana-affected crime you regularly see is buying it. It may make you freak out a bit but worst case scenario you want to hide. It doesn't make you aggressive so is unlikely to cause you as a user to adversely affect others.

I'm not saying it should be legal to grow and sell it as a personal business. It should still be regulated, probably under the same or similar regulations to alcohol (require proof of age for sale, no public consumption outside designated areas, not legal to produce for non-personal use without licensing). What's most important though is to educate people. Teach your children about it and let them make an informed decision - ultimately, everyone's happier with that. Probably the worst thing that could happen is they spend all their money on Doritos.

On the launcher, top-left of 'modpacks' section, click 'Filters', change client to server, and the login area will become a button that downloads the server files all ready-to-go
