XP is starting to feel really dated now, to me. All the new Linux, OSX, and Windows editions are very glossy, or clean, and feel and look very fresh. Where XP just seems... old. And it is. Time to move on finally.

They're called custom skins br0, try them some time.

I would hate to uninstall a 7.5 GB game and take another three days to reinstall it.

Another thing, there is some kind of compacted file in this folder that has the letters "DB" in it, but it's not anything I can open and check.  I think "ZoneObject" is part of it...

Winrar might be able to open it if you change the extension to .zip or .rar .

It sounds like the game can't load an object. Try reinstalling the game or using windows search to see if the file is even on your computer.

that's a MODDING tool
you can't change how the engine works
source takes ages to load anything remotely large (AS maps are tiny), it can't do open areas well, it relies on slightly updated map making engine that was originally made 14 years ago, almost all the lighting is pre-baked stuff that takes forever to render, the AI out of the box is horrible, the dynamic lights are resource hogs (even compared to STALKER)

Quit your whining. Sure the source engine is dated, but it still works just fine.
