Yeah, and depending on the angle from where you got shot you would probably be paralyzed if you somehow survived it.

The Avanti I use uses a .177 cal lead wadcutter(not sure if it's the right name) that's used for target practice.
A shot to the jugular would probably be fatal though.
Plastic pellet, same speed as a shotgun pellet.
