Zhang visibly comes close to choking on her drink as Elena speaks. "I'm sorry and you just bought that?" Zhang all but cries out, after a brief coughing fit. She lowers her voice before continuing, "Because that sounds a hell of a lot more convenient than anybody should get after what happened in that house. 'Yeah you killed a bunch of my men but here go smash up a few venues and now we're square'. That doesn't happen, so now there now exist three major possibilities. Either Xang is dumber than he looks, somebody's playing us for the long con, or-" Zhang flicks her hand forward to point the pen at Elena, "-you're lying to us."

"That's a great speech," Zhang grumbles, gesturing with her pen at Elena, "but you've told me nothing that I don't already know. A better question that I should have asked is 'what are you doing' - because as far as I can see-"
Zhang takes a brief moment to tilt her pen around to gesture to Jay, Ryde, and finally herself. "-we just got roped into working for some crime-boss," she continues, spinning the pen around her fingers to point at Elena. "And as I recall, it was your intelligence which led us into that house. The house that didn't have the target. I can't speak for everybody else but that sounds like one hell of a set-up."

With a snap, the cap to Zhang's pen fastens itself in place as she finishes writing everything down. She drops the notepad into an internal pocket in her coat. With one eyebrow roostered, she looks at Elena, gesturing vaguely with one hand. "So why are we doing this again?"

Zhang takes a seat at the table, glancing sideways at the rest of the bar. She quietly raises her hand, giving the waiter a nod as she says, "If I could get an ice water, that'd be great."
Zhang casts a sideways glance at the woman with the red eyes. She manages to pry her eyes away after some time, propping up her chin on her hand, her head tilted away. Resting her other arm across her lap, her fingertips brush against the compact baton attached to her belt under her coat.

With caution, Zhang gazes around the room, briefly locking eyes with a woman's piercing red ones. She breaks eye contact before she notices every minute detail of her face and catches Elena walking towards the woman with startling familiarity. Giving a slight huff of displeasure, Zhang looks at Norum.

Zhang enters the subway car, briefly glancing at her watch. She looks up at Norum and Jae, roostering an eyebrow up at the fresh clothing before giving them a curt nod. As for herself, she's still wearing the same clothing she ran out of Salus in, albeit washed.

Zhang watches him for the slightest sign of dishonesty. Despite this, she nods. "Fair enough." She suppresses a shudder as she does so. Zhang exits the building, with Rog following soon after.

Zhang nods solemnly. She takes a deep breath and straightens herself out, partially steadying herself on the couch with one hand. Her pulse pounds in her head. That's done. My heart is going to explode and kill me, but that's done at least. And now the night-
Xang is outside, on the phone, seemingly very annoyed. He puts his phone down and enters the house.
"Since you neglected to answer my question earlier Miss Rong, I'll hazard a guess, you are here for the surgeon,"

Zhang forces her face into a calm mask to hide her nerves. Watching Xang's face, she tries to draw on what she knows about people like him.
"You seem like a smart man, I'm certain you've drawn your own conclusions."

She goes around the back of the couch and pales slightly as her eyes drift over the men on the ground. Her eyes linger on the man who's skull was cracked a lot longer than she would like. Blinking a few times she crouches and sighs, keeping her voice down to a murmur as she speaks to Rog, "I don't like it either, in that we have common ground. I might have a lead, help me follow it. We can figure out why this happened, until then we're both going to have to bear working for this ganger."

Nodding at Elena, Zhang turns on her heel and jogs to the house. Halfway down, she slows to a brisk walk, casting a sideways glance at Elena. "You have a lot of explaining to do," Zhang murmurs. She does not break pace as she continues, "Keep the brutes busy, I'll talk to Rog."
