Life of Mabinogi

With over 50 different hair styles and over 40 different eye and lip features you can select from, Mabinogi allows countless possibilities to build your character with a wide range of colors and shapes. Users are also provided with various decorative accessories and shoes. Not happy with the selections? Dye them into different colors of your own choice to perfectly suit your taste! Elves and Giants also live in the world of Mabinogi. Uladh consists mainly of the Human race while Iria is occupied by Elves and Giants. Explore the eclectic range of surroundings from the dry deserts of Connous which are frequented by sandstorms, to the snowy fields of Physis.

Mabinogi NPCs will remember your character. Every NPC is kept busy with his or her occupation. If are looking for a part-time job, then simply try talking to them. If you complete the job, there is no doubt that you will be met with worthwhile rewards, not to mention the rapport you will build with the NPC!

Have you ever felt like you’re just another player with nothing to make you stand out from the rest? In the world of Mabinogi, you can earn titles that every player will respect and recognize. Some titles are easy to earn while other rare titles take a lot more time and skills. But regardless of how they are acquired, it will be your opportunity to express your creativity as well as the uniqueness of your character. Reach for titles that will let the whole world know who you are!

Exotic giant marks on the ground and hidden dungeons that appear and vanish. It is the role of our users to uncover the mysteries of the exotic giant marks and hidden dungeons.

In Mabinogi, anyone who has a fishing pole and some bait can enjoy fishing. You can either read the fish’s gesticulatory hints and fish at your own pace, or have your character fish on his/her own. If you’re lucky, you might even catch a precious item instead of a fish. You can choose to fish at the bank of a clear stream, at a serene reservoir in the middle of endless waters of the ocean, or even on ice for ice fishing!

All manufacturing activities begin by gathering the natural resources around you. In Mabinogi, users can shear sheep, spin threads, weave fabric, and tailor their own clothes. In addition to shearing sheep, you can actively partake in other activities such as chopping down trees for firewood, milking a cow, mining for iron ores, and much more.

When you are stranded alone in the field in the middle of the night, follow the small glimmer of light afar and you just might run into a group of travelers sitting around a campfire. You can stay warm by the fire, play music, tell stories, cook a delicious meal and share it all together. It’s an intimate place, where bonds are formed and friendships grow closer. Best of all, you will be in for a treat as the troubadours’ music will accompany you through the night. You can even compose and have other players listen to your composition, available only in Mabinogi.

In Mabinogi, users can cook with the ingredients they have gathered around them.
You will begin with simple meals, but as you take classes and acquire the necessary mastery, you will be able to create fine-dining, gourmet meals that rival those of any restaurant! The taste of the food depends on how you mix and match the ingredients, but if you’re constantly eating fatty foods, you’ll gain weight so be careful! If this happens, you’d have to go on a strict diet by eating fresh fruits and vegetables. Eating healthy is not only good for your body, but it also helps you develop your skills.

[
Basic skills are taught at school, but you can acquire deeper knowledge of skills by reading skill books. Many books are available for you to read, ranging from skill books necessary to sustain safety in Mabinogi, as well as informative books that explain interesting facts about the towns and regions.

In Mabinogi, you can even create a unique message that will illustrate the personality of your character.

Pets also fulfill their duties to help the masters by rescuing them from danger, carrying their heavy loads, and executing commands. You’ll make more pleasant memories when you travel with a loyal pet.

They don’t simply buy and sell items; they also remember you and provide guidance. They establish a personal relationship with the player and even remember how often you’ve visited them, if you’ve been a good worker, or even whether you treated them kindly or not. There are many ways to befriend an NPC… who knows, they might even give you special treatment.

You will be able to spot chickens and dogs around town, and find sheep and white spiders from which you can collect helpful resources and manufacture goods. Animals in Mabinogi come in a myriad of different forms, sizes, and types!

Don’t let curiosity overtake your rationality. They are called monsters for a reason and you must proceed with caution.

Nao, who leads you to the world of Mabinogi… and the cute Camera Girl, who reports the present conditions of the game through a live screen, not to mention her loyal friend, the Camera Dog… The owl that runs errands for the townspeople… and the fat bird who is dozing off on the tree branch near the Chief’s house… Trace the stories of each of these characters and you will unfold a whole new side of Mabinogi adventures.

In Mabinogi, you can rely on a pet that will maintain its loyalty throughout all of your adventures. They serve multiple purposes to benefit you, such as engaging in battle along with you or even for carrying your load.
Their helpful roles do not just end there. You can also log in as your pet and experience a different life as an animal; namely, you can develop faster and acquire skills that are only available for animals. Sometimes cute, sometimes helpful… experience the countless pleasures of a loyal companion!

One visit to the dungeons of Mabinogi and you will become aware of the difference. The Limitless Dungeon promises a new and thrilling experience with each descent into the dungeon depths.

Only the most experienced warriors will be able to reach the deepest depths of the dungeons!

Activities in Mabinogi are enabled through skills. A swordsman can learn the skills of a bowman, and bowmen can wield the magic of wizards! Anything is possible if you take the time to learn and train. Hard work and time are all you need to fulfill the requirements of each skill in order to master it.
Your appearance is not the only way to make your character unique and personal. The skills you learn and master also shape your character’s identity. Express yourself through your appearance, but define yourself through your abilities! As you continue to advance your skills, many new doors will open for you; you can earn more, learn more, and do more. Along with combat skills, Mabinogi allows its players to learn skills such as crafting, composing, and cooking amongst countless other skills. There is never a dull moment in Mabinogi.

You can acquire multiple titles, so express your identity through them!

No two items have to be the same! Tweak and upgrade store-bought items and add your own twist to weapons and armor. Modify or Enchant your item until it's perfect for you!
Items used faithfully for long periods of time increase in dexterity. Appropriate NPCs can modify items for you. Each NPC has a general modification skill and a special modification unique to each NPC. It's important to find out each NPC's specialty and style before asking for modifications.
Further personalize your Fantasy Life with custom weapons and items!

Mabinogi has an innovative system that allows users to play instruments. To play an instrument, you need an instrument as well as a music score. Users can purchase prewritten scores, or even manually compose a song on a blank score.
Users can play composed songs and have other players listen to it as well! This creative system is found exclusively in Mabinogi; yet another avenue for users to explore Mabinogi's endless possibilities.
At first, you might have a hard time playing an instrument, but as you train the skill, you will become better over time. Although you can only compose short melodies in the beginning, you will gradually be able to create longer masterpieces. Compose a song and even throw a concert with your friends! Only available in the Fantasy Life of Mabinogi.

Off Topic / Nickolodeon is bringing back classic 90's cartoons

Due to Drop in Ratings, Nick Returns Classic Lineup

Jacob Suarez
Online Editor

Teenagers can finally rejoice because they now will be receiving what they have been talking about for years. For awhile now teens have been wishing that Nickelodeon will finally put their favorite cartoons back on the air and now their wish will come true.

Starting March 14, 2011, Nickelodeon will go back into the studios to produce new episodes for classic cartoons such as: Rocket Power, Doug, Rugrats, Hey Arnold, the Angry Beavers, and many more.

Cyma Zarghami, who runs the television station was quoted saying, “We have noticed a significant drop in ratings since our show from the late 1990’s. We have strayed from our cartoons and we believe that was our biggest mistake. We have contacted the producers from these shows and we were able to work out a deal to get them back to making new episodes.”

It is not known whether or not the shows will try to create new concepts for the characters, or if they will pick up from where they left off years ago. Rumors have been circulating that the kids in the shows have now aged and will be moving on with their lives. For instance, the gang from Rocket Power now have taken the leap into their teenage years and now attend high school in Ocean Shores, or Arnold and his pals from Hey Arnold, have now moved on from elementary school to middle school in New York.

Whatever new ideas they bring to the table they will be welcomed with open arms and hopefully they can remove the bad taste in our mouths from terrible shows that are on Nick now like iCarly, Big Time Rush, and TUFF Puppy.

Zarghami has not stated if the shows will be brought back full time or if it is making a comeback for a limited time to revitalize the Nickelodeon networks poor reputation in the new Millennium for cartoons and other shows. After the last episode of Rocket Power was aired, kids thought the only hope for Nickelodeon was Spongebob Squarepants but even that once great cartoon has had its own fall from grace.

Teenagers have wanted to show kids now-a-days what a real cartoon is made of but never had the evidence to convince these pups. Starting next month; these kids are in for the surprise of their lives.

I may be late, but oh well.

Diff article, thanks seventh. Article.

What is golf?

Quote
Golf is a precision club-and-ball sport, in which competing players (or golfers), using many types of clubs, attempt to hit balls into each hole on a golf course while employing the fewest number of strokes.

It is one of the few ball games that does not require a standardized playing area. Instead, the game is played on golf "courses", each of which features a unique design, although courses typically consist of either nine or eighteen holes. Golf is defined, in the rules of golf, as "playing a ball with a club from the teeing ground into the hole by a stroke or successive strokes in accordance with the Rules."

Golf competition is generally played for the lowest number of strokes by an individual, known simply as stroke play, or the lowest score on the most individual holes during a complete round by an individual or team, known as match play.
Quoted from wiki.

How do you play golf?
Quote
Every round of golf is based on playing a number of holes in a given order. A 'round' typically consists of eighteen holes that are played in the order determined by the course layout. On a nine-hole course, a standard round consists of two consecutive nine-hole rounds.

Playing a hole on a golf course is initiated by putting a ball into play by striking it with a club on the teeing ground (also called the tee box, or simply the tee). When this initial stroke (or 'shot') is required to be long due to the length of the hole, it is usual (but not required) for a golfer to suspend (or 'tee-up') the ball on a tee prior to striking it. A tee in this last sense is a small peg which can be used to elevate the ball slightly above the ground up to a few centimetres high. This elevation is at the discretion of the golfer. Tees are commonly made of wood but may be constructed of any material; the ball may even be teed on a mound of grass or dirt (at one time a small pile of sand placed by the golfer was routinely used and sand was provided at teeing grounds for golfers' use).

When the initial shot on a hole is a long-distance shot intended to move the ball a great distance down the fairway, this shot is commonly called a 'drive'. Shorter holes generally are initiated with shorter clubs called irons. Once the ball comes to rest, the golfer strikes it again as many times as necessary using shots that are variously known as a 'lay-up', an 'approach', a 'pitch', or a 'chip', until the ball reaches the green, where he or she then 'putts' the ball into the hole (commonly called "sinking the putt"). The goal of getting the ball into the hole ("holing" the ball) in as few strokes as possible may be impeded by obstacles such as areas of long grass called 'rough' (usually found alongside fairways) which both slows any ball that contacts it and makes it harder to advance a ball that has stopped on it, bunkers (or sand traps), and water hazards.[8] In most forms of gameplay, each player plays his or her ball until it is holed.

Players can walk to their next shot or drive in golf carts over the course. The game can be played either individually or in groups and sometimes accompanied by caddies, who carry and manage the players' equipment and who are allowed by the rules to give advice on the play of the course.[12] A caddy's advice can only be given to the player or players for whom the caddy is working, and not to competing players.

What do I need?

All you need is a club and a couple golf balls. But what is reccomended, a set of golf clubs, a bag to carry the clubs and balls, extra golf balls, a hat, and a golf cart or a pull cart.

Why walk? Won't you get tired?

The reason I walk is to get a feel for the course, and then I won't lose my rhythm like I would riding in a cart. If you still don't understand, look up other reasons to walk.

Currently Im trying to get a new set for my birthday.
Set
Some Footwear I would try.
My pull cart Im asking for

Honestly if you really can't judge distance well at all, just use these stuffty rangefinders I really hate. Rangefinders

Duty Calls Review: The Definitive First Person Shooter
A Masterpiece To Be Remembered

by exterminat
©2011 Nicholas Laborde

Every so often in our lives, a piece of entertainment is released that completely blows the doors off of what we thought was possible.

Whether it be a revolution in tempo, story telling, special effects or quality, these events do not occur often. But when they do, the world is taken by storm.

Today, I am reviewing what will be known to hundreds of generations as THE hallmark of interactive entertainment: Duty Calls: The Calm Before The Storm.

You should already know from the title that the game KNOWS it will create a storm.

From the first time I saw the game and chose to download the meager 759mb file (for the perfect price – FREE!) I knew it was going to be something special.

Maybe even the greatest moment in the entire gaming history, such was the amazing innovation of this title.

Move Over, Bioshock: There’s A New King

Duty Calls is quite revolutionary from the second you get to the main menu. There is no option to adjust visual settings or keyboard controls; you simply just play the game.  Incredibly simple, but brilliant!

After seeing the brief control layout, the opening cinematic completely enveloped me into the atmosphere. A grizzled war veteran talks about how war has changed, or not, and never before in my life have I felt so connected to such an impressive narrator. Ron Perlman will be jealous of this guy!

From the first second of gameplay, I knew this would be the greatest game I ever played.

You start off by receiving orders from a distant military commander who is completely ecstatic about your mission.

After accepting these orders, you proceed through the most realistic shooter corridor I’ve ever seen. All of a sudden, Duty Calls’s intense action begins with a bang: an enemy pops out from behind a crate, yelling in the most intimidating of voices.  I mean, the game has crates for cover, how great is that!

I proceeded to end his poor, meaningless life, and was treated to the most realistic death animation ever witnessed in a video game.

As soon as I killed him, I immediately received my first rank in Duty Calls’s deep leveling system: Master Sergeant! It also takes a unique spin on traditional military ranking system, thus rewarding the player tenfold and encouraging nothing but positive vibes.

After blasting through a few enemies and traversing minor areas, I discovered that Duty Calls features a deep inventory system, with a wide arrangement of objects to pick up. The ability to pick up a stick?  Amazing!

Many encounters later (which were some of the most creative I’ve ever witnessed in gaming), I was at the end of this robust title.

Cautiously, I busted my way into a warehouse where I ran into the most fleshed-out boss of all time. A large, menacing figure who held a nuclear warhead, and would fight to the death to give it up. Maybe.

I won’t spoil how the scenario turned out, but what followed was the most profound, emotional ending I could ever hope to experience in my lifetime. When I realized it was over, I found tears running down my face; Duty Calls was the textbook definition of what the game industry needs more of.
The Numbers Are In

After completing Duty Calls, I walked away a different man. I was emotionally impacted by some of the most influential storytelling ever derived.

Not only was the cast of characters brilliant, but the sound design was in a perfect equilibrium.

Weapons are highly realistic, with the most true-to-life shots since Battlefield: Bad Company 2. Apart from the actual firearms used in the game, characters have voice acting with some of the best actors since Nathan Fillion.

All these elements combine to create a riveting, visceral, emotionally challenging narrative that will undoubtedly send a ripple throughout the industry; the next generation of storytelling has arrived.

I just downloaded it, this review is amazing!

The story is innovating, the graphics are just drop dead realistic, and especially the guns, they're the most realistic of all! Every time I shoot it says boring. The enemies have the best intimidating voices, and the death animations, don't even get me started.

I recommend picking up this amazing title here for the amazing price of $0.00 dollars, Idk the price in Euros, pounds or other currencies.

Discuss this amazing game.

Overview taken from this link.

Factions

Cossack Hetmanate
The Cossack Hetmanate, a Ukrainian state comprised of wild-spirited independent fighters lead by Hetman Bohdan Chmielnicki.

The Cossacks fight against Poland for their freedom. Cossack leader Hetman Bohdan is forced to seek help from Russia in order to combat the Polish threat. Together the Cossack Hetmanate and Tsardom of Moscow march on the Polish Republic.

-This Faction most closely resembles the Kingdom of the Rhodoks in the previous Mount and Blade games.

Polish Commonwealth
The Polish Commonwealth also known as the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth. The Polish Commonwealth is famed for its majestic Winged cavalry. And while it possesses a rich army it is fragile, which could ultimately lead to the Polish Commonwealth's demise.

-This Faction most closely resembles the Kingdom of Swadia in the previous Mount and Blade games.

The Tsardom of Moscovites
Born again in this new age of fire and sword. Russia sees itself under a powerful dynasty of Tsars bent on reclaiming land lost to the Polish Republic. The Tsardom of Moscow is truly a force to be reckoned with as it has a vast army of well equipped troops.

-This Faction most closely resembles the Kingdom of the Vaegirs in the previous Mount and Blade games.

The Kingdom of Sweden
Wealthy, neutral, and ever powerful, The Kingdom of Sweden patiently waits to conquer the losing side of the Russian Polish conflict with an army of dreaded dragoons and musketeers.

-This Faction most closely resembles the Kingdom of the Nords in the previous Mount and Blade games.

Crimean Khanate
A kingdom caught in-between shifting alliances. The Khanate has been shielded from both the Tsardom of Moscow and the Polish Republic, but soon may find itself vulnerable and desperate. The Crimean Khanate may be forced to betray the Cossack Hetmanate and take its lightening fast army of mounted bowmen elsewhere.

-This Faction most closely resembles the Khergit Khanate in the previous Mount and Blade games.

Your Own Faction
There are several ways to start a kingdom for yourself and they are similar to the ones in Mount&Blade: Warband.

One way is to become a member of an already existing faction and capturing a castle or a town which you will not be granted by the faction leader. When this happens you can choose to denounce your current oath and leave your faction. This will result in your new faction becoming a rebel faction for that faction.

When you have become a rebel for a faction it is a good idea to find the claimant for that faction and proceed to persuade the lords of the original faction to join yours instead. This way works exactly the same as it does in Mount&Blade: Warband. However this will not make you king/queen of the new kingdom. Instead you will become the marshal and the claimant will become the new faction leader.

Taken from the M&B wiki page.

Q&A

Q: Do I need to own 'Mount&Blade: Warband' to play 'Mount&Blade: With Fire & Sword'?
A: No. 'Mount & Blade: With Fire & Sword' is a standalone expansion, which means it can be bought and played, without Warband.

Q: If I buy the Steam version, will I be able to extract the CD Key and use the regular game client
A: This will probably be possible. There is no confirmation, as of yet but the chances are it'll be the same as Warband, in which case you won't have to play it in Steam, once you extract the CD Key.

Q: If I buy the non-Steam version, can I use it in Steam?
A: Again, it will probably be the same as Warband. This means you can't import it into steam and play it as a steam game (with achievements etc.). Though, you will be able to add it to your games list as a "non-Steam" game, meaning you can launch it from your Steam library and use the overlay (confirmed).

Q: Where can I buy it?
A: There is some release information here

Q: When is it released?
A: May 3rd 2011.

Q: Is it the same game that was released in Eastern Europe?
A: Quote from Mikail Yazbeck: "It was actually released twice over there. The most recent release is this new version of the game that’s been made in the Warband engine(which we’ve since polished even more for the international release). And the first release was inside of the Mount & Blade 1 engine and was released in between M&B 1 and M&B:Warband, but only in Eastern Europe. That older version of course didn’t have all the features that this version has, but was demanded enough for us(and by us I mean Sich Studios/Snowberry along with TaleWorlds) to want to remake it using the Warband engine and bring to an international audience."

Q: Is it basically just a mod? It looks like a mod.
A: It uses the Warband engine (with some alterations), so it will look like a mod. The difference is the professional level of work, the large amount of content with fully fleshed out singleplayer and multiplayer, which includes a new game mode dedicated to commanding. Ultimately, it's up to you to decide whether you want to buy the game or not.

Q: Will it have cooperative campaign?
A: No. Although, Battle Time is open source so could probably be easily modded into the game.

Q: Is there a manual I can download?
A: Yes - Link and another Link.

Strategies

My strategy
1. I tell my party to follow me, then my marksmen wait for my command to fire, and then hold a position.
2. I cover my flanks with Calvary and infantry.
3. If cavalry are charging, I have my men close together, if its just infantry, I spread them apart so as to weaken my opponents marksmen.
4.Fire volleys to break morale.
5.Rinse and repeat
(6). If the enemies aren't all dead when I'm done, I charge my cavalry and infantry.

Post your strategies.

So Im making a CyberPunk TDM, and I want to know if anyone knows how I can make a bot spawn where in front of the monitor where he "jacks in" when he jacks into cyberspace. And when the bot spawns, if the bot is killed, I want the player to be killed.

Drama / Moonlight-Resort to banning due to being outsmarted
« on: June 23, 2011, 03:32:58 PM »
Generally I wouldn't make a topic about being banned on a server, but this permanent because I was being an "annoyance," in his case.
Moonlight, someone I have never met before, was an admin on Gravity Cat's server. Admins are there to keep the peace, but should be able to discuss something.

So it started with me being an argument, and I can agree it was pointless and should have been left alone. Anyway I get kicked, and I come back asking what was reasoning?
What is it, "spamming." I was never attempting to be disruptive on this server, as my argument only took up 2 lines every once in awhile, including the person I was arguing with. And I try to reason with him and say how that kick was pointless and I should have been allowed to continue with my quarrel, as that's what happens in this world. And I have a discussion with him, I'm not talking too much and am a mellow mood. Then he says "If you keep this up, I will have to permanently ban you." As there Admins are supposed to be able to discuss matters, as I do whenever I am, I tried to discuss it even more and then I see him say "Time for your permanent ban."

Then I tried to discuss it with him on IRC, and then he just answers one question and then ignores the rest of this. I don't care if you're an admin on a big server, this does not mean you can't discuss a matter, that's what you are there for, answering questions and keeping the peace.

I do not agree I deserved a permanent ban, I wasn't warned once in my argument and I was warned once when trying to discuss the matter in an intelligent way.

Pictures because you guys will want them or its not real.

So I don't agree with anything he has said, and this ban wasn't with a stable reason.

If you end finding me a cry baby for this, I don't care. I'm just sharing my thoughts.
