can i get a short rundown on why people are so focused on FRENCH politics?
bonjour. welcome to the national forum of France. The blue is for France, and the white is for surrender(and maybe wine).

Self Delete by stab

The thing about Christie is that he knew he's not getting re-elected again, which is why he caused the government shutdown(over budget issues he disputed) and started pulling this stuff
either way he should be impeached

Hate crimes are a farce. Yes, its assault and they should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law - BUT - it is not the state's business on what the attacker thought of the Muslim family's beliefs because its not the state's job to control the thoughts of its people, in this case a  guy who hates Muslims and committed a heinous crime against a (probably) innocent family.
Ahem.
Attempted murder is a farce. Yes, it's assault and they should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law - BUT - it is not the state's business on what the attacker thought of the victim because its not the stye's job to control the thoughts of its people. In this case it's a guy who intended to kill a man and committed a heinous crime against a (probably) innocent victim.
tl;dr your logic is flawed, there is a precedence already for the law to take into account the attacker's mindset when committing a crime, so claiming that hate crimes are a 'farce' because it's based on what the attacker THINKS is wrong.

this is really just a side-effect of how the political spectrum is polarizing itself tbh
unrelated groups showing solidarity because of a single supposed 'common' trait

Off Topic / Re: Found a weird USB device in my TV

smart TVs are a thing now
smart TVs that connect to the internet and can spread viruses through that
this is why I hate IoT
except you'd need storage space to do that. The USB in question is pretty obviously just for flashing firmware, so the amount of storage space is miniscule and you'd have to get the BIOS to accept that it's a configured flash drive, as well

sticking a random usb in your computer is like shoving a needle you found on the ground in your arm
to be fair I don't think inside a TV would be the first place someone looking to spread malware would put a USB drive

two big things to note:
1. Puerto Rico is $72bn in public debt, and becoming a state would add this to the federal debt
2. puerto rico has already been refused statehood once, due to blank ballots

I don't know what the forget "blood sacrifices" are, but if you truly understood the New Testament, you'd realize all the really spooky stuff God commanded people to do in the Old Testament was voided by Jesus, exempting the Ten Commandments, of course
out of curiosity, what are your thoughts on Judaism then, considering they thought Jesus was a false prophet

I want to see what the reporter did to warrant this outlash because no sane person acts like this

there may be something that the witnesses missed that video would reveal happened
the guy that was attacked was responsible for this article so that's probably why

anti virus software will not protect you from good zero day exploits
Nothing can really be done about that one anyway. Some AV software does push out hotfixes for some cases of zero days if they have heuristics that can detect it though, as long as it's OS-level and not related to bios or hardware/firmware directly

Common Sense
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exploit_(computer_security)

Also, to put into context why thinking this is a /really bad idea/, allow me to state a similar argument in similar terms:
"I don't need vaccines! I have common sense, I won't get sick!"
In conjunction with an antivirus it's decent, sure, but don't trust your sense to save you.
you have to run an executable or approve a java applet to get a virus. simply visiting a website won't give you a virus unless you're using an ancient version of internet explorer that's vulnerable to activex exploits.
there are ways to get around requesting human authentication for processes. Zero days / exploits, malvertising, port exploitation, etc
it's not typically(key word) present on a machine that is kept 100% up-to-date, but it is always possible that even something legitimate you installed may not be correctly secured and may accidentally backdoor your system because of legacy code or bad practices.
