A trip down memory lane. I recently felt reminiscy so I decided to trawl through the oldest reaches of my Photobucket account to find my old stuff.
My first real build and app to USSR... ah, the blisses of youthful naivety.Getting a little better. My first alright build. I think I may have also at this point discovered that it appeared that the number of ramps I had was directly proportional to quality. At the inside corner of that road there is a build that I don't have any other pictures of in my account. It is what I'm going to give the (cool) name, a "lost build". Basically, that's the only picture I have of it and the save is on an ancient decrepit computer that is probably too encrusted with dust to operate. Maybe if I'm bored one afternoon I'll go in there with a USB drive and see what I can dig out, but it's in rough shape outside and in (viruses, overcrowding, slow, etc.) By the way, I'm pretty sure those aren't my towers. My attempt to re-create the World Trade Center. I only got as far as building 3.(Might be) first clan app. Definitely first successful one.My old Blockhead standing next to an even older colorset.Fun little build I did with underground passageways and stuff.I was absolutely blown away by how this one turned out. Definitely the beginning of my "ramp build" era. Also appears to be the first time suit guy turned up on the scene. I still kind of like this build. The absolute earliest picture on my Photobucket account of what would later become the Sirrus Compound. It started out as a lone tower. At this point I didn't even know how I was going to finish this building, let alone knowing that I would turn it into a default save eventually. It stayed like this for a while.First picture of it as a compound.I forget what the hell this was supposed to be but the important thing is it's not there any more. You can also see the old fence design. This might be the only thing I built besides the Sirrus Military Compound while the aforementioned build was under construction. A small house I built for stuffs and giggles in Vertical Horizon's server one day.Completed Sirrus Military Compound. It's by far my biggest project and became both a default save and my successful app to RotB. For these two reasons and the fact that it's loving awesome, this is closely tied with the Plateau House for my favorite thing ever built.A restaurant type affair that I built for a build-off with a member who's name eludes me at the moment.Small modern office.richarding around in a server. The first picture on Photobucket of what I'm going to call my greatest blunder. The Empire Tower was a mediocre build that I went too far to try and defend while making myself look like an ass because I thought I had the support of the community and ended up just being an egotistical richardweed to a ton of members.Interior, ground floor. Like I said, not horrible but the problem was with my inflated ego coming off of a successful RotB app (I don't think it was a default save at that point though) and all the fame/success I had garnered from the aforementioned build.Set off offices directly above the lobby. I like this part, it was basically a three story building inside a skyscraper. Definitely my favorite part. Six sets of maze-like office arrangements connected by an open atrium, all in a skyscraper. Fun stuff.Obamaface I made for either his election or his inauguration. I'm pretty sure it's the former.Entire tower and then spire that got put on later, respectively. Not terrible, but handled poorly.First (unsuccessful) app to NWB.Island build from my mildly successful clan, We Build Stuff. The weekend we spent working on that is probably the most fun I've ever had playing Blockland.Pretty cool build I never finishedAnother small house.First and then most recent (respectively of course) uploaded pictures of the Quite Mysterious House, a house based off the concept of the Winchester House and probably the only thing I'll ever bother continuing unless for some reason I really get back into Blockland, which is unlikely. It's the Blockland equivalent of doodling, and it's pretty fun to walk around in. I hope for it to one day encompass all of Bedroom.Either an airport terminal or a convention center that I never finished, but had a good sketch of:One of my favorite builds, from the WBS island.Strange build that was going to be like the Q.M.S. but hanging from the ceiling. I may do something like combine the two, that thought just occurred to me. That would be cool.Second app to NWB, also unsuccessful.First picture/exterior/sketch/night/last picture of my successful NWB app and if I'm not mistaken my last serious BL build. Since it's based off of Frank Lloyd Wright architecture, it's probably the build that I'm the most proud of and is most realistic. It includes a bitching underground portion for bedrooms/living area and was an all around party to build.Well there's that thread. I don't know why you felt compelled to read the whole thing but thanks. I've had a blast playing Blockland, and although I pretty much just lurk the forums now, thanks for all the good times you've given me, BL community.
