Why wouldn't you go for the dell monitor?
Refurbished :\

Honestly I wouldn't care that much but if they're of more or less equal quality, $10 isn't an outrageous price to pay to get a brand new monitor as opposed to one that's been used, even if it was refurbished.

The Dell one is $10 cheaper and has a contrast of 50,000:1 as opposed to the ASUS one which is 20,000:1

Okay, so I was looking at this monitor, and felt pretty good about it. However, I was telling my computer apps teacher about it and he alerted me to this solid looking deal. Which would you guys recommend?

I head CC is back in business. I don't really want to spend a lot of money on a gaming computer though, unless it is a really good and it's good for its price.
I forget which company, but some company bought the stock that Circuit City hadn't liquidated and the rights to the name and is using that as an online store. There are no Circuit City retail outlets.

This was confusing as all get out.

$500 prebuilt isn't going to get you much. Besides, you really shouldn't buy from Best Buy (Circuit City is no longer in business) as I can only assume that they load their computers up with as much junk that's either spam or as close to adware as they can get without it being illegal.

Order a Dell or something online. You can get a Dell that does passably well on most older games (including all Source games) but recent games are more or less out of the question. I had a $450 Dell that the best game it could run (even on more or less the lowest settings) was Assassin's Creed 1.

Even a >$500 built computer isn't going to leave you much wiggle room, as there is more or less a minimum you have to spend with a prebuilt to get something that isn't going to be stuff quality, let alone play games well.

Penum... Dammit.

Try STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl. If you get a total conversion mod that updates graphics and tweaks the lighting/textures, the underground labs can be damn near literally pant stuffting, especially if you play them at night.

You started a riot because your teacher got mad at you for a perfectly acceptable reason?

You're an idiot.

But oh wait, this story is fake.

I was entirely composed by bad decisions by the characters and irritated me that they couldn't be rational and do things right.
So your complaint was that the movie perfectly depicted reality?

The "your left index finger is now a gun" one was the only interesting one to me.
That one was brilliant. All the other ones are lame ripoffs.

Tell your mom respectfully that you think that you're old enough to be making your own decisions, and that being this protective isn't going to be beneficial to you when you move out of the house in two years. Convince her that you're mature enough to make your own decisions about what is right or wrong, and that these more or less will line up with her own sense of morality. This is ultimately what a parent wants, methinks, and you're never going to get there if you're caddy, whiny, or generally act childish. Approach her with maturity, conviction, good reasons, and most importantly respect. Finally, no matter what the outcome, give her a hug and tell you that you love her.
