Real solution would be turning off power stations, but I don't think it would be good idea.

I thought about this when my science teacher was telling us about Earth Hour. I realized that while this would kind of solve a problem, it would be a colossal disaster and a really stupid thing.

Plus it would kind of miss the point that this thing is trying to get across. It's not to save energy, but more to raise awareness about the fact that we need to do something about climate change.

On top of that, people don't choose to have the power plants turned off, this is kind of about making a personal choice to do something about what's going on in the world in a small way

Not to explicitly state this, but the power plants at least in America and Canada function on a grid, where a single power plant doesn't supply power for a block of houses and businesses, but puts the energy into a larger power grid. Because of this, it would be astronomically inconvenient for everyone in the country, but it would also probably be rather costly as well, both in the very act of turning off all the power plants and not breaking something, and the displaced costs of everything screwed up by losing power.

Woah- that's uncanny. You just seemed to almost exactly say what makers of bad clans say when they get called out.

There's no guidelines so anyone can make a clan, and back to subjective interpretations of what a Clan is.

If anyone's being circular and weird in logic, it's probably you at this point. Are you challenging the very definition of a clan?

And yes, unfortunately, now we have two clan guidelines.

Anyway, on Saturday March 28, 2009, turn of your lights from 8:30-9:30, wherever you live. So it's 8:30 EST, GMT, PST, etc.

There (contrary to Bushido's post) are no guidelines for Clan Discussion. All views of Clans are subjective.

But the predominance of clans are subjectively bad.

On-topic: Clans aren't a part of the game you need, so I don't see why he is a problem.

While clans aren't a part of the game you need, the clan section is so cluttered. I seriously doubt anything besides a new clan system is going to fix that, but I doubt limp is helping the situation with a template that people can copy.

And with building, what's the point of someone teaching you how to build good? That's something you gather yourself. It's part of what makes this game so good- people being able to express themselves architecturally.

Side note: Building isn't a part of the game you need either.

He's eccentric but he's done nothing bad. If anything he doesn't act his age, something a lot of people here don't follow.

Did you read the two major chunks of the first post about the clan guidelines and the building guide?

Building and making clans are like the two things that can't be taught, or at least taught to be done well. Theirs a difference between learning to technically play the guitar, and learning to play the guitar with passion, drive, and talent.

It pisses me off that Limp feels like he can teach the latter set of skills.
