General Discussion / Re: What should the final three Slate Edits be?
« on: March 26, 2009, 08:13:44 PM »
I think you should change slate flipped to the actual slate map, but flipped upside down.

Also, as for your three new edits, it would be nice to get a slate fog, slate underwater, and slate prairie.

i agree with you 90%, but when making an argument towards a subject as such, avoid preaching and emotion words.

and also to be a proper arguer, are you telling the creator of this thread to not complain or are you telling the rest of the forums not to bombshell on someone who is complaining?

if it is neither of those then please tell me what the argument behind that rant was, because i dont see it.
I was basically stating that everyone who complains about stuff needs to realize one of two things: One, there are greater injustices in the world. Two, most of the reason people don't accept them is because they don't put forth effort to respect others and themselves.

Now, again, I'm not trying to say that there aren't bad things that happen in this world. Horrible horrible people to horrible things to others, and that sucks. It shouldn't be there and shouldn't be happening. However, there were so many people say 'emo' so I dropped my little emo speech.

And something I didn't really work into the first preachy. Have you ever gone outside? Take a hike through the Rockies sometime. This is a beautiful world, and whether or not you choose to believe in intelligent design, something I've thought about and decided to accept, you have to admit that this is a planet of shocking beauty.

And pictures do not count.

If it hasn't already been stated in this thread.

Horrible.

Horrible.

HORRIBLE.

Noob abuse.

And, also:

Code: [Select]
datablock PlayerData(PlayernomoveArmor : PlayerStandardArmor)
{
   runForce = 0 * 0;
   runEnergyDrain = 0;
   minRunEnergy = 0;
   maxForwardSpeed = 0;
   maxBackwardSpeed = 0;
   maxSideSpeed = 0;

   maxForwardCrouchSpeed = 0;
   maxBackwardCrouchSpeed = 0;
   maxSideCrouchSpeed = 0;

   jumpForce = 0 * 00; //8.3 * 90;
   jumpEnergyDrain = 0;
   minJumpEnergy = 0;
   jumpDelay = 0;

minJetEnergy = 0;
jetEnergyDrain = 0;
canJet = 0;

uiName = "No Move Player Player";
showEnergyBar = false;

   runSurfaceAngle  = 0;
   jumpSurfaceAngle = 0;
};

Come on. I could probably do that. I think you took everything and just set it to zero.

This is very similar to clan guidelines, and I'm kind of offended WBS didn't get in there for formatting.

You know a build is bad when you can efficiently count the bricks used to make it.

This probably took you less than 10 minutes.

What cheese/meat/bread did you use?

The picture looks like white bread with ham and swiss cheese. Or American cheese with holes in it.

Ahhh 2nd page.

We have our clan build idea. We're going to do a hanging city from the top of bedrooms. It starts this Friday morning, and should be running until Sunday evening.

It saddens me to see people living in basically the most privileged, rich countries in the world and they can still find something to complain about. I find a lot of the times people complain about 'society' and 'the man' and how it hates people like them, I find that they really have no reason to complain. They're just lazy, in a way. If you want society to accept you as an individual, that can be done without conforming.
My faith is radical in the way that it calls of me to live without certain indulgences of the world like hate and being self-centered. While our society seems to love these practices, that does not mean that I have to conform to them to fit in.
Why I am not wholly rejected is a matter of respect, I think. I would not be abandoning my beliefs if I lived by myself, and I'm not abandoning my beliefs because I respect what others are trying to do.
It's a matter of respect, of the Golden Rule. The second part of the greatest commandment (the first being love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, strength and mind) is love your neighbor as yourself. Despite the fact that your neighbor might hate you. It's matter of showing love to your enemies. Doing without 'an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth'. It's more of a, 'when your enemy hits your left cheek, present him with your right.'
Back on topic, the reason people that feel the need to complain about their country and society in general is that they don't put enough energy forth to present themselves well, have a positive attitude and respect others. It's kind of convoluted that people think they are so entitled that people are going to show them respect with nothing put out from them.
So, even though their are some terrible terrible thing going on in this world, that doesn't mean that everything is happening to you. Someone called you a name? Somebody's son probably just died from malnutrition. Or AIDS. Or a bomb shell.
And what's even more shocking is the fact that people seem to think that not fitting into society is the norm. It's just something people do. I really fear for this generation (I don't know if it's hypocritical- seeing as I'm 14). But really- consumerism seems to encourage people to try to get as far away from society as possible, and encourages the behavior. But where does that get us?

Okay, that's my speech, rant, whatever. I'm 14, Christian, and a Social Conservative if you haven't picked it up.

Don't post the brick count like it's some accomplishment, we all know it's because of that floor.
