Add-Ons / Re: BlockOS 5 - Desktop inception

Excellent UI mod. The icons are made well, everything is easy to use, it's got a lot of features. Only thing is... it seems like it updates a lot.

I'd love to upload some of my better stuff, but my mouse stopped working in Gmod, so I'll give you what I have.

Remaking of a classic.

not even I'm sure...

These were made on my new MacBook Pro. Just testing out gaming capability. I give it 9/10. Screen is great, performance is very fast, especially compared to the load times of my other computers. Sandy Bridge helps out a lot :)

I totally forgot to finish the 2011 AoB app. Oh well, a new year means a new app. Soon.

General Discussion / Re: v21, you're either with or against it.

Personally, I haven't used Bedroom, Kitchen, or The Slopes in a very long time, so nothing to lose in my case. I use Slate edits and just build everything. Being a building game, I'd imagine this is the logical evolution. Maps are just a throwback to the old days of Blockland. I might miss a couple of the maps just because of nostalgia (GSF maps, for instance), but I welcome something new after seventeen-odd full versions.

I'm not sure what everybody's trying to figure out. Why not:

Have the new shader'd Blockland without interiors automatically start when you load one of the new maps
have a window/tab that shows "legacy" BL maps that loads without the new fancy shaders and things like that.

If Kompressor can completely rewrite the shaders in Torque Game Engine Advanced, of all things, then I'm sure there's a way to switch between two shader models. This coming from a guy who has experience with TGEA and T3D.

this seems very... familiar... but that might be just me. Excellent work.

Skyrim is my choice for GOTY, mostly because it's only "real" competition, Skyward Sword, has crappy Wii controls and looks like a last-gen game.

Also, PC users, go into the Bard's college, spawn as many cheese wheels as your hardware allows, and cast an explosion spell at them. It is one of the most amazing things to ever happen to PC gaming.

Games / Re: did everybody forget about Witcher 2?
« on: December 10, 2011, 07:33:20 AM »
people talk about Oblivion even when they've done everything to do because it's a hilarious game to glitch out.

I would imagine the real reason nobody talks about it is that there's about three hours at the very beginning which moves very slowly, and it makes a lot of new players quit before the game hits it's stride, so there are very few new fans of the series.

Games / did everybody forget about Witcher 2?
« on: December 09, 2011, 10:34:53 PM »
After the release of The Witcher 2, there was a lot of buzz about it for a few months, then I didn't hear anything else about it.
Who still plays Witcher 2, and who thinks this is a game you really have to play to understand?

I loving hate wasps, and if this were my forum, if you posted a picture of a wasp from anywhere closer than ten feet away, you would be banned for a day. Repeat offenders would be permabanned, and so help me, if you were to put but a single picture of any other bug, you would be banned on sight!  RRRRRRRRAAAAAGGEEE! ASDSFSD WASPS ARE THE MOST USELESS AND PAINFUL THING ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH

I... I think I need a nap.

AND I WILL NOT COME BACK IN THIS THREAD TO EDIT THIS POST. BUT YES, I AGREE.

Games / Re: I got GTA4 and GFWL keeps crashing it
« on: March 25, 2011, 11:50:21 AM »
Well, everybody. I thought I had it fixed, but now it doesn't even get to the copyright screens. I thought I would have to reinstall the game, but then I opened minecraft, and now it's crashing randomly. And Arkham Asylum won't even open! I know GTA4 and AA are GFWL games, but Minecraft shouldn't be acting like this too. I guess I'll try a game that doesn't have Games For Windows Live from my Steam library.

I don't think so, because this is just me opening and closing it trying to get it to work.

After I update my drivers (which is probably not going to work) I think I'll try reinstalling. At this point, it's the only thing I could try that isn't reinstalling Windows which I've already done twice on this computer.

Can you even run it?
This computer has an i7 920 at 3.4GHz with a GTX 480 and a GTS 250 for PhysX. So yes.

The game opens and plays correctly one out of about seven times I try. And there's no pattern for it opening, except that it seems to work only when the GFWL pane starts to open a second after the second copyright slide comes up. Otherwise it opens during the first one or really late. I reinstalled GFWL again, and it worked the first time I opened it after that, but then it stopped working again.
