If it's an extreme graphics card, you would think it has the graphics for it. But I think if it's newer technology and Minecraft is older technology, it won't work properly.

Lol'd

Sounds interesting.

If only I had a set of legos that wasn't missing 95% of it's pieces D:

All I got was the big buckets of legos when they were on sale at wal-mart for under $10, sucked to be poor ): But I did like the big buckets, just they usually had no baseplates or unique bricks.

Minecraft doesn't have bad graphics. It has an 8-bit art theme which fits with the 3D blocky world. While the players are surely under-developed, pursuing an 8-bit retro theme is not "bad graphics". Coupled with other types of rendering, vignetting, dynamic lighting, minecraft looks great.

WoW doesn't have bad graphics, It is one of the most detailed games I have ever played, and it also has a unique art style that is very fitting. People can raid with 24 other people with integrated graphics and not lag, yet the bosses are scary looking and there is a wide variety of different looking armor. I can't fathom how anyone could possibly dislike WoW's graphics but I guess to each his own. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GQ12VD2OUM0 this video shows pretty well how superior Blizzard was at designing pretty and non-bland or boring areas.

I never did any of those? I might have done raiding, idk what you mean by that.

You're telling me in that 1 hour it took you to get level 10 you didn't do all that?

Well at level 10 you've experienced all of the features WoW has to offer, if you haven't liked it after all the raiding you did at level 8, all the 40vs40 PVP you did at level 5, and flying around azeroth on an epic dragon at level 9, you will probably never like it.

5 cans of energy drinks mixed together probably doesn't increase how powerful it is, it just gives you 5x as much to drink.

And it's not like I'm trying to start any drama in the first place, so there's no need to elevate this. This forum doesn't need any more.

Never forgive! Never forget!

Visage, what's your problem? People are allowed to dislike the games that you like.

Someone didn't read the topic.

A. I was not aware that the game was designed to be almost entirely PVP. Nothing said that, nothing made me aware of that, everything went AGAINST that concept (quests, NPC's, etc).
B. Guilds/Clans are supposed to be optional, something you join to be a part of a large team, not something that is required to survive.

This still boils down to "poor game design".

Now you're just trying to make up stuff. "The game had quests and NPCs how was I to know there would be PVP!" Also clans are optional, and are to be part of a large team, and they are not required to survive. So clans in this game are exactly what you expect in a game.

So I was supposed to rely on game concepts that weren't taught in the tutorial or inferred by anyone at all

Sounds rock-solid to me

WoW doesn't tell you to join a guild at the beginning, yet you can join a guild and they will give you some gold usually and maybe help you do dungeons. They can't assume you don't know anything, they assume every player has a bit of common sense. When I first started I knew a clan was going to be a big deal in a FFA PVP game, so it was the first thing I did was join one.

Darkfall was started in 2001 and released in 2009, you were waiting for a game that was started only 2 years after EQ1. Also I am not ignoring that you get owned by pros all day. I mean the game is centered around hardcore PVP, people like it, Ultima Online had an even more hardcore PVP system and it was never hurting with subscribers, it is unappealing to you but it isn't to a lot of people. Also getting murdered is avoidable if you know how to play, you just have to be smart about it, you can't make a lot of noise and stand near a busy road in the most popular goblin spot and not expect risks. Grind isn't repetitive to me, If I feel like shooting stuff with a bow, I grab my bow, go to a camp, and shoot stuff with a bow, when I get bored I do what I want to do next. As long as you grind in a way you find fun it is not a problem. Also you kind of went at it the wrong way from the beginning, the game world is huge and you could have joined one of the many of clans, like 50, that are designed to help low levels, they would have given you endless gear, brought you to a city with not much traffic, and taught you the basics. You chose to just rage in silence and not use the best aspect of MMO games: You have hundreds of people to help you.

You can make a game and run a successful business, don't bullstuff me with the whole "they go for fun not money" argument, because there's no such thing. See: Valve. Valve makes great quality games, lots of fun, and is still one of the most profitable businesses out there. Same with indie developers making great games that can appeal to a wide variety of people, see: Mojang. At this point, the darkfall devs aren't an indie company anymore, they are running a business, they are trying to put out a good game and make profit so they can keep working on the game. You can make it accessible by all skill levels and still appeal to the hardcore gamers, that argument is nonexistent as well (WoW Neutral/PVP worlds are a good example, allowing all types of players to play the same game in the manner they want). Alienating people is not an excuse for poor game design. You're arguing for poor game design and arrogance. Idiots like you are enablers for idiot developers.Go ahead, I'm not discouraging anyone from trying the game. If you like it, play it, and I hope you have fun. This thread was me sharing my experience and exposing poor choices in game development for what could be the best MMO out there.

Can't really compare valve games to MMO games. No one quits an FPS game because it has too much grind, or they didn't like the raiding, a good FPS game is appealing to every FPS player, and a bad one is unappealing to every FPS player. An MMO has way too many aspects that are fun to some and not fun to others. Some people hate grind, I love to grind, I can grind all day everyday. Some people love the open loot PVP on Darkfall, some people hate it. Some people love a game that is so challenging, some would call it plain frustrating. They have made the game much easier actually, but they still want to keep it true to what it is trying to be, a hard game with hardcore PVP. For example they have increased how fast you gain skills by 400%, they added an alignment system so people go red if they kill too many innocent people and they are working on a prestige system so people can be better with only a small set of skills instead of needing to max them all. What they aren't going to do is make it so you can run in at the very beginning and kill 20 goblins in 1 swing.

Although that's true, if you think someone is stupid, chances are you aren't your to talk like them.

Yea when someone is stupid I usually are you aren't your to talk like them, but this time I did you are your to talk like them. Also I wasn't talking like you, I was mocking you, which is very common to do to someone stupid.
