Okay phenom it is, phenom will last a long time too since most games still can't even use 4 cores so it will grow as companies take advantage of them. Now I need to determine if I want like dual 9800s or a 200 series, I am a pro at ATI cards, never dealed with Nvidia but like I said I wanna dual boot linux and ati barely works on linux and sometimes doesn't.

How does this look? http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=15429&Sku=B52-0262%20PROMO

It stands for day.

Yes, that means it's Day-day.

At least that's what I was told, although after a quick Google it seems it could stand for nothing.

He is actually right, it is day-day.

Usually when a laptop is overheating in 30 minutes no matter what you are doing something inside is broken, could be fans, could be your CPU not throttling. If your laptop is just being pushed too hard, like it is old and you are trying to play super games with 5 FPS, it can be kept cool with some simple and obvious tricks: Keep your room cold, buy a house-hold fan and point it at your laptop, and get a laptop fan that your laptop sits on.

So I turned in those Saving Bonds I was talking about and now have $1900 in the bank, and I need a new computer bad I am using a 4 year old laptop after my old desktop busted, I am willing to spend 800-900 for it, although most of you know I am pretty good at building my own computer, and can probably do it myself, usually when I post things on other people's "build a computer" threads and other people offer other solutions I research them and realize they were right, so lets hear your guy's ideas.

My current thoughts: Biggest issue is the CPU, for an 800 comp do I want an i5 over a phenom, a phenom quad is about 40 bucks less than an i5, or do I want to shell out for an i7 and lose money for the graphics.

I want an Nvidia card or cards, because I am a linux fan and ATI does not have much support for linux. I was wondering if I should go old school and get dual 9800s or look into the 200 series of cards.

Things I do not need much help on: Mobo, I will prob get a dual slot mobo that will support sli just for future upgrades, I will get windows 7 since I am using vista atm, and I will be getting just the cheapest ram that will take advantage of my mobo and CPUs capabilities.

Please use Tigerdirect.com for your suggestions, although I prefer Newegg Tigerdirect does not tax me in California and will save me a good penny to use it.

Your "insane honesty" tends to lean towards the negative side of the balance consistently. I'm saying you're not looking at the positive side I explained above. We both know you'll happily argue this to your grave so I'll leave it here.
The positive side would require me to assume and belief something just for the sake of finding good in humanity, I usually just stick to what the evidence and instinct tells me is the most likely.

You're descending into troll territory again. The positive route is that people who feel unappreciated or undervalued by themselves and their parents would really value someone who loves them and does appreciate them. I think that can do a lot of good for someone. Try not to let your blind lust for drama obscure your ability to make impartial judgements.
Duh that was trolling, I already made my view on him clear, and it wasn't for any reasons you tried to state. So I mock your attempt at trying to find absurd reasons why my logical view was illogical. If I say abused, emo chick, the first thing you think of isn't an easy lay? That is why I say what I say, not because I am jealous or want to start a fight, I just am insanely honest.

you're a virgin, and will always be one since no girl will ever put up with your know it all attitude towards everything.
Stop bitching. And even if I am a know-it-all on a forum it doesn't mean anything about who I am in RL. Just because I make fun of you on a forum doesn't point towards virginity and being a know-it-all, I just like to point out how I see things and I don't spare any emotions. I mean try to point out 1 single time I just insulted someone without any reasoning behind it.

Yeah, I did. You should make it clear that it's just verbal abuse because people will assume it is abuse of a different nature if you don't specify. I'm sure you wouldn't want to give false weight to your "argument".

It's reasonably obvious that you're just here for nefarious purposes so your argument loses all impartiality on that front too. It's something you can argue either way and you've just opted for the negative point of view.
K let me go for the positive route my bad. YEAAA warren boy woot, got that unstable bitch and forgeted her brains out while she was confused and young? Hell yea that's my boy!!! Them girls that cut themselves are an easy lay no? :) That's how us gangstas do! We appreciate you telling us all about it too, forget being respectful to your bitch tell everybody you tore that stuff up!!!

you've obviously never been with a girl since you don't understand at all how they work. you're treating the situation as if girls don't get horny, and don't have loveual needs. SHE LIKES love. SHE WANTS IT. SHE DOESNT WANT IT TO KEEP ME WITH HER. SHE WANTS IT BECAUSE IT FEELS GOOD.

jesus you're such an idiot, and clearly a virgin.
Is the caps to convince yourself it's true?

I think she'd laugh at all the blatant virgins calling her a man out of spite. :cookieMonster:
Someone didn't read everything. I doubt she will laugh that he told us about how she is abused by her parents and emotionally unstable and cuts herself. Also to have love with a freshman in high school that cuts herself and is emotionally unstable and abused is probably the most forgeted up thing you can do, and then you go and brag about it. I mean... I am not gonna explain it all again just go back and read it.
