What's your opinion on Sycra's lightning bolt and coil method for limbs? I've never been to good with human forms, but I feel that helps a bit.
haven't heard of it

aw man don't close this down, this is one of my favorite threads.

EDIT: don't mean to make this about me, but you ever seen my work Hawf?
No I haven't seen your work yet, a link would be nice :)

also I've been in college for almost a year now, I feel like it's ready for a good clean sweep of the old stuff and start over with round 2, I'll probably close down that thread once I graduate or something
in the mean time, this is where I get off

i feel like that, but i think it's hard to deny that in some cases there is an innate ability

but yeah even prodigies practice 24/7, that's why they're prodigies.
some people are more creatively motivated than others
keep a log of "favourites" and when ever you need some motivation take a browse through that and maybe you'll find some inspiration to get you going

if you want you can look though mine

Also if you need some reference, whether it be "How to draw this particular thing" or "I need ideas for character design"
than look no further than THIS

this also covers vehicles and landscapes

I might close this thread down and start a new thread that could also document advice and resources for budding artists here on BL

because he does it every day. to me, for most artists, it's 20% talent 80% practice
correction, art has and always will be 100% practice
art isn't a talent, it's a skill
and any skill you are willing to study, learn, and practice is achievable through time and effort

Tommy not sure if it's been asked before or I missed it somewhere but how did you get so good at drawing? Were you self taught or did you take classes? I really want to make stuff as good as yours someday.
I studied art styles and wireframes for a good long while, plus I took any art courses I could get in school
I also attend an animation college in halifax
