I have like 25 pages of A3 filled with planning, sketches and other things I needed to include and this is what came of it,
The task for our class was to create a 'point of sale display' which is a display which advertises and contains a certain project, and I chose no man's sky. I started this project in like may or june and worked on it slowly.
It's mostly made of 6mm MDF I laser cut. I also used one of the 6 3d printers we have for the spaceship. The stickers are made from adhesive backed vinyl, used some model trees, sand, some wavy plastic with paint underneath for the water, and some flock powder for the top. I used 2mm MDF for the shelf area and it's all stuck together with copydex, hot glue and the finger joints. Oh and I used modelling board cut with a band saw, primer'd and painted for the Atlas. The logo is adhesive backed vinyl stuck onto laser cut white acrylic held up with some brass rods I sawed into 3 pieces and glued in with adhesive backed vinyl. It's hollow, so I used some blue foam to make it stronger.
I also 3D modelled it, but made some last minute changes since.
I would've painted or at least treated the wood had I known we were given a 3 week extension on the build.
For the xbox 360 boxes, I just got old xbox 360 game boxes I had and printed a custom no man's sky sleeve to slip in the sleeve area.
On the opposite side to where you can see the playstation logo, there is a steam logo sticker
For scale, the distance from the back (where the logo is stuck) to the front bit where the games are is 30cm
