i switch out the charge'n'targe for the splendid screen actually
claidheamh mor feels useless to me, i've used it and it's just not fun. persian persuader is nice and the scotsman's skullcutter is good for medieval, but the eyelander is my go-to
I personally prefer the Targe because I don't find any real value in shield bash damage (I mean sure, 85 damage at any range is nothing to shake a stick at, but I'm not rushing down enemies at full health so I rarely need that much damage and I find the extra resistances much better, especially with reduced base health) and it completes the set where Pyros get blown the forget out
Properly timed cannonballs can't be effectively reflected and will still deal damage, the afterburn immunity almost completely nullifies the effectiveness of the Flare Gun/Detonator, and the fire resistance keeps you alive long enough to cleave the offender with the extra range of the Eyelander even if they're burning you the whole time
I also very much enjoy the Eyelander because every terrible Dead Ringer Spy is a free head, two if you manage to follow them well enough
