My friend has insane drop luck recently.
2 days ago he found a hat
then yesterday morning he found another soldier hat and in the afternoon while I was playing with him he found the Teufort Tooth Kickers and right after finding that he finds the Le Party Phantom
then after witnessing that I find a crate.
yay.

Finding hats isn't as exciting for me as it used to be unless it's something I actually want to use, mostly because finding a hat used to mean you just got half a key for free and could trade it for pretty much anything, now it's like finding a nickel instead of a penny

people don't do that anyway?

Apparently, I've been naming every Pokemon I use for at least the last 10 years

Professional Killstreak Strange Haunted Unusual Genuine Australium One-of-a-Kind Valve Community Force-a-nature

I believe if the appropriate chemistry sets were added to the game a Strange Professional Killstreak Collector's Australium weapon would be possible

It would be ludicrously difficult to obtain, but possible

Games / Re: so i just got steam
« on: May 02, 2014, 04:52:48 AM »
also what games should i get?

Scanning my Steam Library I can make a few recommendations in no particular order:

Team Fortress 2
   - Free to play, exclusively multiplayer FPS, weapons and cosmetics galore

Risk of Rain
   - Roguelike-like? 2D platformer, different characters, loads of item pickups, has online co-op

Spelunky
   - Roguelike-like 2D platformer

Teleglitch: Die More Edition
   - Retro roguelike-like, top-down shooter, classic insane difficulty

Bastion
   - Story-rich isometric action game, greatest narrator of all time, incredible music

Quantum Conundrum
   - Physics puzzle platformer, second greatest narrator of all time

Super Meat Boy
   - Fast-paced platformer, relatively difficult

The Elder Scrolls series (packs containing them all tend to pop up around Quakecon)
   - Medieval RPGs

The Half-Life series
   - FPSs

Hotline Miami
   - Top-down shooter/beat-em-up, fast-paced, excellent music

Anodyne
   - Top-down surreal adventure game, comparable to SNES/GB-era Zelda, great music

The Binding of Isaac/The Binding of Isaac: Wrath of the Lamb DLC
   - Roguelike-like top-down shooter, totally bizarre content, moderate difficulty

The Cave
   - Sidescrolling adventure game, multiple characters with unique stories

Secret of the Magic Crystals
   - :champ:

Dust: And Elysian Tale
   - Action "metroidvania" platformer, somewhat "deviantARTy"

Jamestown
   - Top-down scrolling shooter

Psychonauts
   - Action-adventure platformer, story-rich, great writing

Rogue Legacy
   - Roguelike-like action platformer with persistent upgrades, incredible music

Terraria
   - Randomly-generated adventure/sandbox game, play alone or online

Thomas Was Alone
   - Story-rich minimalistic 2D platformer

VVVVVV
   - 2D platformer, great music

Fallout 3/Fallout: New Vegas
   - Post-apocalyptic RPGs

Tabletop Simulator
   - Fully customizable board/card/tabletop/etc. game sandbox, play alone or online, still in development

But do yourself a favor and try to wait until July for the Steam Summer Sale before buying anything unless you don't mind spending extra money, you'll generally end up paying 33-75% less for everything during the sale

Damn, sounds hardcore. I should try that some time.

Nicknaming all of the Pokemon you catch is another rule that most people do

It gets you more attached to them so you really won't want to lose any

3651

my favorite part about strange killstreak weapons is their names are such a mouthful

3652
I don't know what a nuzlocke is; I was just doing some leveling up for him while he was away.

The Nuzlocke Challenge is a set of rules for a more difficult playthrough experience, there are many variants and the rules are completely up to the player but the basic ones are generally

1. If a Pokemon faints, they are dead and can no longer be used
2. You can only catch the first Pokemon you see when you enter a new area, nothing else

3653
Do killstreaks do anything in particular?

killstreak weapons just let everyone know how many kills you're getting in one life

specialized killstreak weapons do that and have a colored shine that gets more intense as you build up kills

professional killstreak weapons do both and give you a particle effect on your character's eyes when you hit 5 kills and intensifies at 10

3654
some "pokemon pro" friend of a friend had only two pokeman in his party.

is there some (dis)advantage to having a smaller party?

Less type coverage

3655
it hasn't got 10k kills

well stuff man I just got it and every server I've been on has loads of people that can do the simple task of countering W (+ A + D) + M1, people complain about W + M1 so much more than anything else which I find funny because it's one of the easiest things to counter

there was this ONE server, though...

I think I killed 6 people in the span of about 10 seconds at one point, I've been wearing the Infernal Imp set on any server that supports it because I am literally pure evil

also this happened

I just realized that Strangified items keep their crafting properties, I didn't check to see if they're there in the game itself or if backpack.tf is just picking up hidden data though

I wonder if low craft numbers still appear in-game

3658
oh well I use my Scottish resistance for hiding traps most of the time in doorways or passways

It was stock stickies actually, which made it even more surprising

Good on ya, though

3659
was it me

Unlikely

What do you guys think of this? Pretend there's yellow lightning all over my head and that the Medic's arm isn't disturbingly tiny

I know it kinda clips around the chin but eh

3660
tbh i actually like it when a pyro uses the man melter and BB/PG combo, atleast they actually take risks.

Coincidentally I unboxed a Phlog Strangifier today and was using that/Backburner with the Man Melter for the sole purpose of extinguishing teammates

ALSO, OH, I SAW A DEMOMAN LAYING STICKY TRAPS TODAY

LIKE, ACTUAL STICKY TRAPS THAT WERE HIDDEN INSIDE MULTIPLE DOORWAYS AND stuff, I WANTED TO HUG HIM
