I've tried isObject(%client.light) and if(%client.light $= "") with no luck. =/

Modification Help / New way to hide player names?

So I was thinking after seeing that raycasting blocks hide player names...

Is it possible to create a "raycasting" zone around the player to hide the name? And if a projectile hits/enters the zone, it just passes by? I asked Mr. Wallet and he said it'd be messy but may be possible.

So I used trace(1); to check out how something is done when your avatar changes and I noticed 7902 as the very first number in the parentheses. Using .getClassName(); I figured out that it was the GameConnection number. So, when I go to use that serverCmd I found, what should be in the parentheses? It contains a bunch of values that I have figured out what they are for but I need to know what to put as the first number in the parentheses.

Is there any way to easily find out what variables are used in a parent? Such as ::onFire(variables)?

Off Topic / BSoDs and sluggish performance... computer dying?

So, recently my computer has been doing things it normally would not have done 2 months ago. It has began to BSoD me on very simple tasks, run sluggishly on games, and my programs freeze up on me from time to time. I've updated all my drivers with no luck so far, I've defragmented my HDD at least 5 times now with no avail, and I've reformatted my HD to see if it was a problem with core Windows files missing and no luck. What's going on with my computer?

Computer Specs:
  • Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
  • AMD Phenom II x4 955 Processor (4 CPUs), ~3.2GHz
  • 4GB RAM
  • ATI Radeon HD 5700 Series, 2.8GB Memory
  • 1980x1080 and 1280x1024 monitors

I've BSoD's when:
  • I had 5 programs running with next to 0 CPU usage with about half my RAM being used (which is normal for me).
  • Alt-Tabbed out of Magicka and alt-tabbed back in.
  • Hosted a Terraria server with Terraria running.
  • Run 2 other programs with a game.

Computer runs sluggishly when:
  • Running Blockland windowed.
  • Running Firefox with another game open.
  • Hosting a server and playing the game without my cores set.
  • Running any graphic intensive game with medium settings (my computer was able to run these about a month ago).

I believe it's also worth noting my computer does like to freeze up periodically when my computer begins to run sluggishly.

I've asked my dad (whose really tech savvy) and he just shrugs it off saying "Defragment your hard drive." and when I tell him I have he just says "I don't know."

So, now I've come to ask the tech-savvy people here what in the world is going on with my computer.

Help / Blockland running sluggishly recently?

I've noticed that my Blockland has been running sluggishly recently. When I host, my blockland freezes about every 3 seconds and when emitters are spawned. When I play on someone's server, my blockland runs slow and the FPS drops dramatically. I've tried reducing the settings and it doesn't help. I've tried installing a clean version and that has not helped. I've done a virus scan and everything I could think of and nothing has come up.

What's going on?

Modification Help / Using variables from VCE?

I'm trying to make a few scripts to make my life easier instead of eventing them.
The problem is, I can't figure out how to pull variables from VCE into my script. I've looked at scripts that deal with it and they use %client.var[%var] but I've had no luck with that. I've changed my variable test through the console and had it display the variable to me via events and it comes back as null.

So, how would you use variables from VCE in a script?

Alright, so one of my summer projects was to make a Gun Game. It was also my first actual scripting project. Finally, after about 2 months of procrastination, and tons of Coding Help topics, it's done. It used T+T for it's weapons. This Gun Game is heavily based on CS:S's Gun Game. For those of you who don't know what a Gun Game is.

A gun game is a game where everyone starts off with the same gun(a pistol in this case) and a knife. When someone gets two kills, they advance a gun tier. If you knife a player, the player loses a tier and you gain a tier. The higher the tier, the better the gun. Eventually, the person will reach the grenade stage. The player uses the grenade and gets it back after a short amount of time, while they wait, they must resort to a knife. You must get 4 kills with the grenade/knife combo and you win the game.



ORDER OF THE GUNS:

1. Pistol

2. Pistol Akimbo

3. Machine Pistol

4. Pepperbox

5. Magnum

7. Pump Shotgun

6. Combat Shotgun

8. Hunting Shotgun

9. Micro SMG

10. Submachine Gun

11. Battle Rifle

12. Bullpup

13. Military Sniper

14. Crossbow

15. RPG

16. Conc' Grenade

Secondary Inventory: Combat Knife

First person to  reach 35 points wins the game. Every 2 kills you increase a weapon tier.

Copied directly from my server topic. I'm releasing the early version of my Gun Game script, for I have no use for it right now. Everything should be working fine, although if there are any bugs please post them in the topic. You are unable to change the guns unless you edit it in the script (functionality for that in game should be coming later). Because of this, you need T+T 1, 1A, 2, 2A, Skin_Sniper, Skin_SMG, Melee, and Explosives 1 and 2. Also, I recommend Space Guy's TDM script for TDM Gun Game. When setting up your weapons, the first slot should have your beginning weapon. The second slot is your secondary weapon.

SETUP:
1. Enabled T+T Package(1, 1A, 2, 2A) as well as Skin_Sniper, Skin_SMG, MeleeExtended, and Explosives 1 and 2.

2. Set yours scores up so they player gets 1 point for killing someone.

3. Set the first slot weapon as the beginning weapon you start with.

4. Set the second slot to your secondary weapon(does not get changed).

5. Start minigame.

6. Type /togglegungame to start the gun game.

7. Enjoy.

TDM Setup:
1. Create teams.

2. Set scores as shown above.

3. Follow step 3 and 4 for team inventories.

4. Start minigame.

6. Type /togglegungame to start the gun game.

6. Enjoy.

ADMIN COMMANDS:
/setplayerscore [playername] [amount]
/togglegungame
/resetplayer [player]
