Except the generations before thought the top of the chart music was terrible. It's the same trend every generation. The previous generation hates the music from the next.
I wasn't saying anything to the contrary.
Someone said, that they had crappy artists then but no one knows about them now. And they have good artists now, but no one knows about them. They listed some "good artists". I was telling them that the difference between now and then is that back then the "good artists" (according to his theory) were at the top of the charts and the "good artists" now are not, or less frequently. Which suggests that people are moving away from good music, but that is only if his definitions of good artists are correct.
My statement was essentially, "What you are saying contradicts your point."
