Off Topic / post sad or heartwarming songs here
« on: August 30, 2018, 10:59:30 PM »
post some songs that moved you emotionally whether its because of the lyrics or because of the story behind why the song was written. please include the title of the artist and song in your post, nobody likes seeing just a bare link and no information before clicking. like this:
Sufjan Stevens - Casimir Pulaski Day

here's a couple more i'm listening to right now:
Sufjan Stevens - Drawn To The Blood
Kanye West - Hey mama
This one just warms my heart but it's also sad to think that kanye wrote it just 2 years before his mom died because it shows how much he loved her
Sufjan Stevens - Fourth of July
another sufjan stevens song. this song is a conversation between him and his dying mother.

why are you shopping way out of your affordable range while broke???? if anything you should be saving up or working to get a better job that pays more so you dont keep being in this kind of situation...
this is the only question that really needs to be answered.

thanks guys! if i make it into a full song i'll post it here.
damn this stuff goes hard af son. Also, how's that dr-202 in the background working out for you? The second drum machine I bought was that same model but its sort of fallen by the wayside ever since one of the prongs from its stuffty aftermarket power adapter got ripped out and lodged in a power strip socket.thanks i almost missed it
I love the dr202. I've had it for a few years now and it is my go-to for banging out some drum patterns because it's so readily available. A lot of tracks I make also use hi-hats from it.

Finally figured out how to get clean sidechain ducking out of my compressor without actually compressing the input signal at all. am daft punk now.

(you better believe im making all the no-hardware brothers jealous of my ability to create horribly mediocre and outdated-sounding house music with a bunch of equipment that can easily be emulated and operated more conveniently with free software)
dude that's sick, I didn't know it had side-chaining capabilities. I almost got a 3630 a long time ago when I was searching for an ac adapter for my alesis nanoverb, but I have yet to get any rack-mounted hardware because I can't fathom where I would fit it in my apartment room along with all of my legos and other gear lol.

i'm getting back into photography. recently bought a fujifilm xt-20 to treat myself for my birthday so I've been breaking it in. these are all with the kit 16-50 lens

couldn't decide which of the last two i liked more. it was incredibly windy and I don't have a very heavy tripod so the long exposures are pretty blurry.
i'm 100% open to constructive criticism. here's my flickr if anyone wants to see higher res https://www.flickr.com/photos/ghostbrick/

I was thinking of picking up the fujifilm 23mm f1.4 or f2 lens but now i'm not sure because i love the compression the zoom in these pictures gives

building a pedal board. after $500 including utility pedals and cables and a power supply and the board itself (i already owned the DS-1 and flashback) i don't have anything that changed my sound. but it's so nice to have my pedals in one place.

here's my routing plan:

the board i purchased is slightly smaller than what i planned for but i'm pretty sure all of the pedals that i currently want should fit on there in a nice compact way. btw the pedal in the top right of the plan is the moon canyon pedal. it's so freaking cool and i can't wait for mine to ship. the different effects on it light up different phases of the moon in the center. also, I'm using the LS-2 to blend a clean signal with a chain of effects in case anyone was wondering what it's doing there.

I've already spent way too much money on this for me to even think about buying the infinite jets pedal any time soon but it's also a really sweet pedal.

what pedals ya'll got?
