I went to a quarry in Birmingham, Al for two days to finish my course. I logged 6 dives, went 58 feet deep (the water temperature went from 75 to 55 at 41 feet. It's literally that sudden of a change), and now have a handy little card with my name on it.

Awwwwwwww yeeeeeaaaaaah.

Off Topic / I just spent $360 on scuba classes

I have quite a bit of studying to do (it involves books), some tests to take, and a five hour video to watch. My actual class days are September 10th, 11th, 17th, and 18th. I'll undergo lots of classtime, six confined (pool) dives, and one open water dive. After this, I'll be a certified diver.

Off Topic / I'm swearing into the Air Force next Tuesday

I'll be going to MEPS (Medical Entrance Processing Station) on Monday to take my ASVAB, staying the night in a five star hotel, and getting my physical, background check, eye check, drug test, etc the next morning. I'll then pick my jobs and swear in.

stuff's getting real.

Off Topic / I'm about to purchase the snorkeling/scuba essentials.

I'll be going to Florida next week and I have a reservation to go scuba diving in open water (my second dive). I'm also planning to take the PADI open water certification course soon.

Anyway, I'm about to purchase my goggles, snorkel, and fins. If anyone has any experience with this, any advice is appreciated.

Aqua lung Infinity Mask. I tried this on at my local dive shop and it seals perfectly and has a great field of vision. Here's where I'm looking to order from.

I'm still undecided about the fins.
