Off Topic / Stereograms
« on: December 19, 2009, 05:37:30 PM »
Specifically cross eyed stereograms. Two images (or videos) are shot from angles that mimic a human's binocular vision. When these images are side by side, they can be superimposed on each other by crossing your eyes. Together they show a true 3d image with depth perception. Just line them up so that you have a third image between the two.

And a video:

Holy stuff. It was amazing. It had the perfect balance of  "oooohhh stuff" and "bawww."

Seriously though...  amazing story, amazing effects, and perfect use of 3d.

Off Topic / I will not use the word "ain't"
« on: December 09, 2009, 01:32:30 AM »
How dare this word be added to dictionaries. It's a pain to hear. Contractions combine words while removing a letter. For example, "has not" becomes "hasn't." It it clearly "has" and "not" combined with the "o" replaced with an apostrophe. What does "ain't" mean in a technical standpoint?
It is a "word" that is used in place of "am not", "is not", "are not", "has not", or "have not." This does not make sense.

Off Topic / forget the general public

I swear, it's like those starfishs go out of their way to push the shopping carts away from the store. I've found them on the side of the road, and we have a big parking lot. They also leave full shopping carts of refrigerated items in a dark place where they're not found for hours. By the time we find it, we have $50-$100 in damages.

They take items from here and set them over there. They choose to explode their bowels in our humble facilities. I'll never understand why someone comes to Dollar General to take a mondo stuff. I kid you not, we had stuff four feet up on the wall once. They throw a kajillion coupons at us and get pissy when one of them doesn't scan. Of course, we have to call a manager to get an override for 10ยข off a can of green beans. They ask us the whereabouts of some obvious item and expect us to drop our handful of 500 boxes to fetch it for them. When we retrieve the item, they want more and in a different color. We, of course, go back to get it while they do not follow.

They look at my Dollar General nametag and say something like, "'Scuse me young man, do you work here?"  They stand in the entrance of the store conversing while I'm standing outside in the freezing rain trying to push 15 metal shopping carts inside. They always pick the one item we're our of and make us go on a quest to find more "in the back." When we come back ten minutes later sweating and out of breath to tell them we're really out, they refuse to believe it and command that we keep looking. They knock a fifty pound jar of pickles off an eight feet shelf and walk away.

The old women piss in the floor which means I get to mop it up. The kids puke in the floor which means I get to push puke around with a mop because it's too thick to mop up. They push milk off the back of the shelf which means I get to freeze my balls off mopping up milk in a cramped 35 degree labyrinth of a freezer.

I'll think of more.

Off Topic / I might become a Youtube Partner!
« on: December 05, 2009, 01:14:52 AM »
This isn't much, but it's an easy way to bring in a bit of cash without even thinking about it. One of my videos has been noticed by Youtube and they have offered to do revenue sharing. I got badspot's permission and am now waiting on finalization.

Pretty much, I get paid per view. I believe the minimum payment is 1/3 cent per view. This doesn't sound like much, but if this video doubles from 50,000 views to 100,000 views, I'll earn $165. They can do this by placing google ads on my video.

Hell yeah?

Yup. It has been one year since I've gulped, lapped, slurped, or guzzled anything fizzy.

I think I'll celebrate by dropping fast food, candy, and snack cakes.

:D

Edit: Nor have I swilled.

« on: November 20, 2009, 03:54:46 AM »
I'll be going to see them tomorrow in Birmingham. It's so strange for my friend's band and BTBAM to be playing together. It should be fun though...  going backstage and whatnot.

Wewt. Also, he plays in Nations.

Mosh pits. :D

Off Topic / Smoking
« on: November 13, 2009, 11:24:52 AM »
Consider this a rant thread. I'm sick of the way cigarettes smell. I'm sick of the way they make people smell. I'm sick of being forced to choke on smoke in tight public places. I'm sick of seeing close friends take up smoking and then losing money and falling ill. I'm sick of smoker's excuses for not quitting. I'm sick of seeing people lose their lifes from smoking.

Seriously. They claim that it "calms their nerves", but would it calm anything if they weren't addicted already and needed the nicotine? Cigarettes suck down your money, coat your lungs with tar/fiberglass, make you short of breath, lead to lifelong respiratory illness, and makes you repulsive to any non-smoker.

This is bullstuff.

Edit: How could I have forgotten cancer?

Off Topic / My hair needs your help
« on: November 11, 2009, 12:46:12 AM »
From a combination of a stuffty straightener and over straightening, it's all fried and whatnot. I'm buying a better straightener, but I would like to "repair" my hair without having to start over. Any tips for saving it and keeping it healthy? It's being soaked with olive oil right now.
