Hell yes! It's awesome because I started college two days before graduation.

Anyway. I'm finished with an advanced technical diploma in hand. It feels food.

Off Topic / Guitar puts me to sleep.
« on: May 18, 2009, 06:58:39 PM »
Well, I love playing guitar more than most other things. It's rewarding and relaxing...  maybe too relaxing. Every once and a while, I'll be practicing alone for something important (usually a gig) and I need the time to practice. I start off strong, and although I don't lose my will or motivation, I end up falling asleep. I've woken up many times with my guitar in my lap feeling like a failure. Am I alone here?

tl;dr: zzzzzzz

I just bought a Vizio 1080p 37" and I planned on using my laptop to watch Blu-Ray discs via HDMI (Also with 5.1 surround, rawr). They seem to play fine in the laptop's screen, but are a bit jumpy through the TV. What's the problem here?

Edit: I'm playing the disc in Media Direct.

One day, dude, I'm just gonna get off the bus and I'm gonna run in the woods and never come back, and when I come back, I'm gonna be the knife master.

Off Topic / I hate the word "got."
« on: April 26, 2009, 09:57:27 PM »
This is a nation-wide thing, and is quite standard. Sometimes it's the only grammatical solution to a sentence, but the way most people use it drives me insane. It's still technically correct in these situations (sometimes), but it's quite annoying. Here are some examples with suggested corrections:

I've got (I have got) a bad feeling.      (I have a bad feeling)
He's got (he has got) a lot of them.      (He has a lot of them)
I('ve) got this, [let me handle it].     (I have this)
It's got (It has got) a problem.      (It has a problem)

Ghrgghag...

This past Saturday I was given an antique record player/stereo. It was built by my late grandfather (who died before my time) in the mid-sixties. Surprisingly, it still performs perfectly, but the only records I got along with it were Johnny Cash and the Star Wars soundtrack.

Today I stopped by a local antique store and dug through a bunch of old records, and found two things of interest: Norman Greenbaum's "Spirit In The Sky", and "I Don't Want To Set The World On Fire."

This last song is pretty much the theme song for Fallout 3, and I consider it a gem. It's a bit scratchy, but It still sounds beautiful...  and haunting. Also, it was 25¢.

"I Don't Want To Set The World On Fire"

Drama / Damn. I'm sorry.

After reading over some old posts of mine (some older, some recent), I've realized that I "have a stick up my ass." This isn't only here, as I occasionally snap at people I actually know. After looking at the way I've behaved recently, it's easy to see why it's so easy to "troll" me. I take things too seriously and get worked up over nothing. I guess it's just how I am. I think I've been doing a good bit better in the past week or so, but I apologize for acting this way. I've been making a conscious effort to overlook things and I think it's helped.

Drama / People don't seem to build much anymore.
« on: March 23, 2009, 04:49:24 PM »
I'll start off by saying; I'm not trying to elevate myself in any way, and this has nothing to do with me.

There are three kinds of Blockland servers I see. RPG's, freebuilds, and deathmatches. These aren't so bad, but when it never changes, they can be rather dull. I miss the days when people would strive to build something worthwhile instead of slapping a city together and playing life. I want to join a server and see someone building something that's a major challenge...  maybe a space shuttle or Mount Rushmore...  I don't know. I'm just seeing so much wasted potential going into building the same thing time after time.

Build something nice, people.

They are two vertical 4x12's (according to seller, however, I'm almost positive they're 2x12's). I need to find them somwhere in the interwebs. The faster the better.
