Help / Re: Port forwarding hassle - just not working at all.
« on: November 25, 2011, 03:54:23 PM »
Don't set a static IP like that through your router, that's for the IP that your ISP assigns to you.
It's the IP that your router assigns your computer that you want, which you did through IPV4 properties in the other screenshot.

Set the first screenshot back to DHCP (or whatever setting you're supposed to use)
Post a screenshot of the command prompt after running 'ipconfig /all', and the port forwarding page on your router

General Discussion / Re: About Fullscreen options...

Some monitors have a problem where not all pixels are in sync, which results in an awkward effect where (for ex.) half of an object is discentered/cut off.

Vsync fixes this.
It has nothing to do with the monitor having a problem, nor individual pixels being out of sync
If the video card is rendering frames faster than the monitor can display them, then you have two different frames being displayed at the same time, resulting in a 'tearing' effect.
Vsync makes the video card wait until the monitor is completely done displaying a frame to send it the next one.

@Headcrab Zombie P.S. All you did was take my code and change it a little -_-
If by 'change it a little' you mean 'fix it', then yeah.
It's not like there's very many ways to do this

Try this

Code: [Select]
//Script_chasecam

   $remapDivision[$remapCount] = "Chasecam-Mod";
   $remapName[$remapCount] = "Toggle Chasecam";
   $remapCmd[$remapCount] = "ToggleChasecam";
   $remapCount++;

function ToggleChasecam(%down)
{
if(%down)
{
if($ChaseCam::isOn == 1)
{
$ChaseCam::isOn = 0;
$Serverconnection.chasecam(0);
}

else if($ChaseCam::isOn == 0)
{
$ChaseCam::isOn = 1;
$Serverconnection.chasecam(99999);
}
}
}

By the way, I think you'll find that 99999 is far too high of a number to use for this.

$prev.chasecam(Access Granted);
$(Client) = 1;
Neither of these are valid syntax.
I have no idea what you're trying to do in the first one, but change the second one to $ChaseCam::isOn = 1;
And do the same thing to the second set of them

also do i need a server.cs in there or is client.cs just fine?
server.cs for a serverside add-on, client.cs for a clientside addon. This is a client-side addon, so just a client.cs

Modification Help / Re: Deleting all of an object.
« on: November 23, 2011, 05:14:35 PM »
%a = isObject("Object");, will not return a true or false, it will give a syntax error.
Actually, it will return false, unless he has an object named Object in which case it will return true.
Used in the loop, it will do nothing, unless he has an object named Object in which case it will run until Object no longer exists

So basically it's an odd way of doing it, but it will work correctly.
You could get rid of the '%a =' part of the condition and just have 'isObject("Object");' as the condition, or you could do what Amade posted, and you'd have to manually increment a variable in each iteration if you want to keep track of how many objects were deleted

You just made them walk in a straight line and destroyed any bricks in the way.

My cat shreds toilet paper. We have to keep it hidden and out of his reach or he'll shred entire rolls all over the floor. He also likes to eat plastic and ends up throwing it up on the floor.

My other cat (before he died >: ) would always stuff in the bathtub and we'd have to clean it up.

Help / Re: What just happened? -Server problem-
« on: November 22, 2011, 09:02:09 PM »
no one can join back.
What message do people get when they try to join?

Two people can be on the same key at the same time from way different locations.
Not without authentication errors.

The only thing that happens to them is Badspot revokes their key after he finds out.
Only if the sharing becomes a problem.

It's supposed to post to the master server immediately once it's done loading.

I still do that in Cata because the tanks are stuff.
How well does that work? I only see it doable for a few normal bosses.

But yeah, the first time I did it, it was because the first thing the tank did when he joined is say "Kick me.  I'm not going to do anything or leave so kick me" but no one could kick him so I just had my pet tank. After that, seeing how well it worked, my friend and I starting queuing up to do it like that - resto druid queued as tank, shadow priest queued as heals, and I queued as DPS of course, and it worked far better than most of the tanks we got before.

If you want to run a file hosting service, you need, at a bare minimum, a webserver, and a php script that handles file uploads, with checks for file type so people can't upload malicious things, and file size limits.

Additionally, not required, but so highly recommended that it almost is required, account management to allow people to delete/modify/view their own uploads.

Basically, things that you never hope to understand if you can't even understand my previous posts.

Well you don't read my updated information...
No, I read what you posted, though I don't think the same can be said about you reading what I've posted.
Or at least you're not understanding it. At all.

You're not understanding anything I'm saying.
Look at any existing and well run upload service. How do you download a file from it? Someone sends you a link, you click it, and the server sends it over. It takes like 2 seconds.
How do you download a file from yours? You have to download and install a program, learn how to use it, follow your very lacking instructions, find the file in the server, and download it. This could take anywhere from a few minutes, to an hour or more, depending on how tech-savvy the person trying to download the file is.

What part of user-friendly do you not understand?

Not to mention the whole FTP upload thing is a huge security risk. What's to prevent someone from, say, downloading an add-on, adding a backdoor to it, and reuploading?
Oh wait, I know the answer to that: nothing!

oh yes you can! Double click the file then it lets you download!
Where? Through FTP? That's not user friendly at all. No one wants to install and learn a program just to download a file.
