Modification Help / Re: Pirate RPG
« on: January 09, 2012, 07:10:20 AM »
Hello my name is Hoogle, I am a poor orphan boy, my name is hoogle in the videogame blockland though so hi if you know me.

I was wondering what the prices of bricks are? I want to start building but I want to know how much a stud is worth ect. is this information out there?

off topic

Also I'm curious about the edge of the map, I have been following the edge of the game world for a while and I'm starting to wonder what shape it is, at first I thought it was a square but I am suspecting it is a circle. This is really not important or anything but I'm curious about it.

Well I just edited it like it says and yet when I open up BL and go to the Terraformer part and go to bitmap it is still going to the common/... directory. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, probably an obvious mistake.

I read that but I feel I may have an different version of Mission Editor or I am just misunderstanding but line 1985 of my EditorGui.cs says

Code: [Select]
            new GuiControl() {
IGNORE THIS

I was looking at the .gui file :3

I'll give this a go, hoping it'll work

The issue I am having with them right now is I can't even import one.

When I got to bitmap in the terraform part the default directory is /common/editor/heightscripts/untitled-1.png

(I assume it's (Blockland/common.. ect)

In Mission editor I can't search any other folder just that. So I created that directory, and added a heightmap with the name untitled-1.png but that didn't work.

Am I right in saying a 256x265 .png is the right format?

From reading around am I right in saying heightmaps no longer work? I can't seem to import one.

Okay this is a rather dumb question and I fear the answer is really quite obvious.. but I got to ask. Is it possible to have more than 6 terrain textures?

If it is and you tell me how I will love you forever.

If not.. I'll still love you :)

Can Blockland support a large number of shapes in maps. For example if you were making a forest would it not be advised to place lots of trees?

Not just The Slopes, I was making a map yesterday (starting off in flat lands) and the red tint was present there too.

It also doesn't have a minigame system that respawns after round ends, a winner brick that kills/respawns player and he hasn't disabled building/wand/paint.

Lalam didn't break a rule he just happened to speak to a very insecure admin who can't deal with anyone disagreeing with him.

I'm talking about Sleven, who you're defending. hmm bad interpretation sweetie

"HOWEVER, You're a MOVIE MAKER, in a MOVIE COMPETITION."

Okay I didn't realise this was directed at Sleven.

Yo sleven you're a movie maker in a movie competition! Hope you win the movie competition!

I'm not in any competition.. lol ?
You're right about your interpretation skills. I was simply using Roger Ebert as an example. Brian Sewell is a qualified art critic and motorbike enthusiast. He reviews paintings and motorbikes great. But is he an engineer or a painter? No. But he still makes very good critiques. I'm going to stop talking to you because you misunderstand a lot of what is being said.

Cya honey!

I'm not saying Sleven doesn't deserve credit for his building skills, I'm saying that Sleven should stop letting it go to his head. Just because some people think he's great at building doesn't mean he can rate so poorly on other people.

Sorry you aren't thinking rationally here. I don't subscribe to the old "I'd like to see you do better" argument when it comes to criticism. What should it matter what people think of Sleven's building skills when it comes to his reviews of others. Roger Ebert is a great film reviewer, is he a film-maker? No. Do you see the film industry saying to him "Well we'd like to see you do better before we can take your opinions seriously"

A terrible builder might review a build badly, they might not be able to do better but they still know what's good and bad. Stop getting so hot headed Custard. I thought you were capable of rational thought. I didn't realise you used schoolboy arguments. No one is saying their opinion is superior over an other, I don't understand where you are getting this from.

I find its humour and ironic that you also say "Criticism is OPINION based" despite shooting down our opinions.

Chill out babes x
