I hate to be that guy, but you people do realize that if you keep taking Tony's bait he's not going to stop right? This drama has almost run its course. We just have to wait for badspot to ban these forgeters. There's no reason for further argument.

I don't want to be dismissive here but the only solution here is to ban them, they're not going to be decent and kindly forget off no matter how much you yell at them and this drama topic has proven that's the case

or at least i'm pretty sure

if you wave around a christmas light it'll leave a trail of images but no motion blur

so yeah

if the christmas lights are DC (which most christmas lights are) and well rectified, they won't flicker

however a filament light or light connected to AC mains would flicker faster than the eye could see but long exposure/fast shutter speeds pick it up
