Mix baking soda with water and use it as mouth wash,
Or just mix salt with water, it will kill the germs and the infected area.
But I recomend anticeptic mouthwash.

I had classes in elementary, middle school and, beggining in high.
Plus I was born in the Ukrain had to learn it's language plus russian, then we moved to Bulgaria.

Spend some time with him, go for walks and take photos for the sweat memorys, and tell him that you love him... You know? Spend time together, if he is in a hospital then visit him often.

 and don't be sad, you will see him again after a while.
But if he survives then still hang out with him.
