To even begin the process of owning one you have to apply to be a class 3 machine gun owner, basically sign over your rights to have the ATF come in your house at any time to inspect the rifle(s) for any criminal activity, plus pay $10,000+ for the rifle itself.Also, the rifle is very useful, and the ammo is cheap!
