Metropolis DM's

I go for realism. This way one gets the full effect of fighting in a massive city with all the fun of snipers and heavy weapons. I have hosted these, and for some reason no one ever gets on, so I felt like letting everyone know what I have been up to!

for starters:
Dead End DM
A deathmatch set in a dead end street. How fitting!





Underneath DM
The only view of the city is from the bottom of a crater.





Shelved DM
Fight in a warehouse stocked with the latest weaponry!





Brink DM
Jump at the wrong time, and plunge to your death!





Ledge DM
One main floor of a high rise.





And last but not least: Metropolis TDM
I made all of the DM's and ran out of ideas, so I decided to make one TDM. This is set in the middle of a large city. The biggest one of them all, it includes 4 city blocks along with spawns for DM's and TDM's.

Modification Help / help needed on raycasts

i want to fix the problem of no good flashlights, but i need to know how to use the raycasting script.

all I want to do is create a light at the first collision in a direct line from the flashlight, but i was thinking of using the raycast script with a projectile with light that doesn't hurt people. Obviously any work arounds would be appreciated as well as a simple explanation of either how raycasting works or how the script which was developed works.

Help / Why is my server dead to random people at random times?

My windows 7 nonport-forwarded laptop has the strangest habit of not letting people on. It wont time out the join server box, but stays there. Also it happens at random times. Iv had people on for several days now, but yesterday it stopped working, and still doesn't. This has been going on since last summer when i purchased the laptop.

Modification Help / Vehicle Questions

I have an average model of a space fighter and I wanted to put the thing in BL, but i need some help in certain areas.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

1: wheels. my space fighter wont have any. is the hovering effect created by invisible wheels or is there a better way to do this.
2: script. Right now i am planning to look at some plane scripts i have, but i was wondering if it is possible to counteract gravity to give the vehicle a lovely maneuverable nonatmospheric feel.
3: particles. i could not find a tutorial which had a particle node description. it would be nice to know if there is a required way of creating or naming particle emitter bones.

anyways, i am using Blender, and thanks for your help.

Help / Space Guy's "TDM" random glitch

I hope this forum includes asking about add-ons.

I start a tdm. I have the trench wars mod enabled. After playing for a few hours with the team death match minigame set up with capture points, the capture point part of tdm "dies." Laying new points does not help, I tried resetting the minigame, even reloading the bricks. Nothing helps.

Help / Harassing on BL

I am complaining directly to Badspot as well as any other leaders of BL.

Robo_noob got on my server. I have a no cursing rule. All fine and good.
He starts cursing, I ban him. All fine and good.
Turns out he has 14 id's just so he can harass blocklanders. NOT all fine and good.

If robo_noob can get on my server 14 times to harass me, and gets away clean, I have a problem with the way blockland is run.
I am not saying we need a better ban system or that a no cursing rule should be installed. Not even am I asking for pity or saying that he is dumb.

Having 14 id's is fine. Having 14 id's to harass people on blockland is not fine. If I'm right, which I hope I am, Badspot agrees. Robo_noob needs morals, or needs to be shut down.

Feel free to discard this topic, or flame me for suggesting it. I will not be posting any more on this thread.
I just couldn't let him go to harass more people without letting the world know what he is doing.

For the time being, all 14 id's can sit nicely in the bottom of my ban list till further notice.

Help / server dead to certain people

on my new windows 7 laptop, many of my admins randomly can not get on my server anymore. also, once in a while, they randomly can! I was wondering if port forwarding would help, or if it is a problem with my computer and can not be fixed.

Help / windows 7 recurring BL error

this happened to me twice. Getting back into blockland, windows said that there was an error with BL and closed BL. full screen enabled.

just letting Badspot know in case BL has a problem with the Windows 7 operating system.

Problems:


1: how do you make multiple animations on one model? I tried and all of my animated meshes followed one bone. (using blender)

2: I am having problems getting a variable to effect changes in the state system. Is this even possible? Is there a boolean comand (if true / false) for the state system?

3: What is the [if then / else] syntax for torque? examples?

4: Is it possible to manipulate things like the muzzle velocity var within the state system to have a weapon that changes (pressure/speed and grav of bullet) in response to a variable or a state.

5: Is it possible to have a weapon use several different types of bullets that are predefined? How would one add another projectile, and have a separate firing command?

6: is it possible to make a clear modle, like a ballon that is slightly see through? would your texture have to be clear, or would my modle have to be coded? (using blender)

7: Is it possible to have more than 0 - 9 states in the state system?


Lots of these are just questions about torque which I expect never to be answered, but the syntax ones are easy and simple to answer if common knowlege. I am stalled waiting for answeres, so any of these answered would help. If you dont know, dont post please. The last topic got so cluttered that it dropped like a rock.
anyways, if anyone can help, it would be appreciated.

Help / where is my music enable checkbox?

There is no spot in the rtb addon enable list for music. i cant use any music but defaults, cause they are the only ones that show up...

Problems:

2: I can not figure out how to stop my projectile from bouncing. i am editing bow script, and cant figure out why taking all of the "bounce" commands out isnt helping :C self fix

3: Is it possible to have all of the guns in a pack use the same projectile (same emitters/explosion/dts) without makind it all over again in each script? Solved

4: How do you make a non reusable object which still has a firing sound? I tried editing a grenade script and cant change the default item pick up sound... SOLVED ON ANOTHER THREAD

5: I am having problems getting a variable to affect changes in the state system. Is this even possible?


anyways, if you can help, it would be appreciated. for the time being, i hate torque.

i almost have the script working, i just cant play the firing sound when i fire. it just plays the "item pick up" sound. is there any way to get around this?

Modification Help / weapon not showing up in 3rd person

its me again... with 3rd person dificultys...

title says it all. it was a throwable item, thus i made no parenting and let blender set it up for me (with detail 1 so that the projectile showed up when fired) and now, NO 3RD PERSON!?
