oooor you could just refuse the search and avoid the legal hoops if something happens
if you're able to prove you didnt consent (which should be easy from the video of the encounter you should be taking) the police is liable
they arent, but i dont think anyone can say that everything they own is completely clean of anything embarrassing or something they wouldnt want someone else to find

and the people who you associate with arent the only ones that could leave something in your car
you're covering your own ass by not consenting to a search

so you would tell people to stop looking at your things... why? because it hurts your feelings?

first off, "flex your rights" sounds handicapped for starters, because that's just a stupid mindset
the video only presents two reasons which are easily solvable: ask the police to be careful. don't associate with morons. unless you live in Detroit or something the officer is a decent

as long as you respect police theyll most likely respect you, and you can respect them while STILL not consenting to a search
im not gonna hope that the officer is nice enough to not forget my stuff up, and who i hang out with really isnt relevant. id much rather have something that has a legal bounding on my side

no i'm not? of course that's a thing you can do; the likelihood of it is low though. the only people that will refuse a search either have something to hide, are in a very big hurry, or are the kind of morons shown in this video. of all those things, only being in an urgent rush is really a decent reason to refuse the search, and probably to even get a bit snippy; chances are, if you quickly explain this to the officer, you'll be fine.

there are plenty of legitimate reasons for refusing a police search besides the ones you listed above, while still being respectful
the morons shouldnt even be included because they fall into the same category of people that carry assault rifles in target, the guy in the video is just being plain disrespectful
