the COE has a tremendous power over marketing. What he does is going to have significantly more weight than some other random employee

4967
Well, do you think socialism is a great idea either?
depends on the topic
socialized healthcare would be great, but obviously due to congress being dumb thats not happening any time soon so theyre doing the next best thing, its not companies such as hobby lobby will be financially hurt because of this lol (not sure about small businesses, id have to look more into that)
I thoguht we were talking about contraceptives here, not condoms.

In which case if you can't afford a damn condom for yourself then you have bigger issues than love.
condom = birth control = contraception
and about affording it, thats a completely different issue

4968
the bad decision to not use protection...
as if a couple is going to have love or not based off whether they have a condom
It should still be the company's choice to follow their "best interest" in this case, and not be forced by government regulation to do so.
arent you the same guy from the police shooting thread? lol

do you really think that allowing companies more freedoms would be in the best interest of the people?

4969
did you have to not use protection?  Are you going to make the company responsible for your bad decision?
what bad decision? to have love? wtf

its in the companies best interest to provide it
a few million condoms a year is cheaper than providing healthcare for a workers newly formed family

What else would I have meant.
you're acting as if the ceo is paying out of pocket for this
the ceo has personal beliefs, and thats fine, but his beliefs are effecting other people that work in his company
it is the law that this company provides healthcare for its workers and i really do think contraception falls under the category of it

4971
Of course people should use protection.
Doesn't mean someone else should have to pay for it?
"someone else"
you mean the company? lol

4972
thats a funny way to state things

don't all people want certain things passed because of their own beliefs about things?
i kinda worded that weird
his personal beliefs are affecting other people, therefor they arent personal anymore

gay marriage is good example of how some things arent about personal beliefs:
legalizing gay marriage allows those who believe in non-catholic (kinda sterotype) ideals to do non-catholic things
the law isnt saying that the catholics have to do these things, however

The problem is that contraceptives aren't necessary for you to live.  If you get sick or are injured or something then yes they should, and will pay for it but if you can't use a damn condom and decide to get pregnant anyways the company shouldn't be placed into responsibility.
thats not the point
last time i checked he isnt paying for these out of pocket, the company is
and the company in itself is not religious and a good portion of his workers probably arent either
he's using his personal beliefs as a political tool
However contraception shouldn't be provided. That's just absurd. You don't need it. That's like saying plastic surgery should be provided by health insurance companies.
i think its better to avoid a wrong turn then go down the wrong turn just to turn around later on (kinda stuffty brown townogy but w/e)

Also, shouldn't people be boycotting the use of Javascript since Eich was the direct creator of it? That would make more sense.
that would be rather difficult to do

4975
Same deal with Hobby Lobby.  The owners of the Hobby Lobby company are Christian and don't support same love marriages and everyone is getting all pissy with them, but last time I checked we live in a free republic where people are allowed to practice their religious beliefs as long as it doesn't cause anyone else harm.
except it kinda does?
the ceo thinks he shouldn't have to provide contraception coverage because of his religious beliefs

4976
what if the ceo beliefs are effecting how the company operates?

I don't think Subpixel had any right to reveal Pacnet's personal information. All he did was a small troll action on a web site.
Did Pacnet hack or DoS or do anything illegal? No. IP addresses and real names and locations should only be revealed on the forums, when the person has committed a crime.
GET THE loving INTERNET POLICE
if you dont want people having access to info like that get off the internet, simple as that
