Drama / Re: Oh stuff

I don't think it's hard for Badspot to figure out what your other keys are in most, if not all normal cases.

Off Topic / Re: Do you read the book or watch the movie?
« on: August 01, 2013, 06:19:09 PM »
Depends. If the movie was adapted from the book, generally the movie may have cut out bits, but this isn't necessarily an issue. I don't generally find time to read books, though. Movies are less of an 'investment', so to speak.

I will say that I liked the Lord of the Rings better as a book. Could not stand to watch the movies, don't know why.

Add-Ons / Disable Item Dropping
« on: August 01, 2013, 06:13:14 PM »
Suggested by alex dude in this topic

Download (hostr.co)

Can be toggled through RTB prefs or /toggleDropping. Additional preferences for showing messages are also in RTB. The 'error message' is when a player attempts to drop an item when the feature is disabled. The 'admin message' is when a player changes dropping through RTB or the /toggleDropping command.

guys, I doubt the OP was asking for lego-sized measurements
Then there is absolutely no point to this thread because there is no concrete "meters" measurement in the game.

Misunderstood you.

Suggestions & Requests / Re: Stop players dropping items

Yes. I believe it would be fairly simple to make.

this just goes to show that it doesn't matter what new thing youtube adds: people will complain.
People bandwagon.

People also bandwagon to hate the people that are bandwagon-ing. Fun. I guess it is a fairly trivial thing to complain about, but it's also fairly justified.

what's the big deal, they're just scrollbars
They make it feel more clunky and awkward to browse comments.

Yours are better though, I'd be able to tolerate it more if they looked like that for me.

Games / Re: What's you're opinion on Steampipe?

Wow, a full two things for the average player!  Performance benefits are a real big change!
Your post implied that nothing can be said about it unless the person had developed a game using it. Stop changing your arguments.

Zone bricks never caused any problems for me over the years so why am I not allowed to say that they don't cause lag?
Zone bricks--or maybe Zone events, I don't remember--have been having some issues since some update. It was either v21 or post-v21, but it causes massive console spam. Supposedly the triggers stick around after zone bricks are removed, which seems to cause multiple issues. I've never experienced lag myself though.

Development / Re: 2012/09/12 - Steam Greenlight

How long was Broforce on Greenlight compared to Blockland? That also makes a difference.

The best way to do this is to either consider the engine's 'Torque unit' a meter, or establish some kind of scale that makes sense.

A 'meter' can't be realistically determined in any virtual world unless it's specifically made to scale with real-world units. And even then it's technically abstract.

The best way to mathematically figure a scale is from comparing to real life Lego. A Lego stud is 8mm long and 3.2mm tall. A Blockland stud is 0.5TU long and 0.2TU tall.

The conversion from TU to millimeters in this case would be 1:16. This makes a good amount of sense and is very easy to remember. One stud is 0.008m.

Better yet, what exactly is your issue with iTunes?
iTunes is the software incarnation of Satan, Voldemort, Saddam Hussein, and Big Bird all combined. I don't see how anyone could stand to use it for anything except to access their fancy Apple mobile devices, and even that is hard sometimes.

I use Winamp.

I don't get all the hate. Yeah I don't like the content of his videos, but he doesn't seem like a bad person. His videos not being to your taste hardly seems like a good reason to boycott the guy.
His viewers sour the situation up a bit more than you'd think.

What a joke. I'm sure he's a nice guy most of the time and all, but it's hard to find him amusing past the first three weeks of watching him. It gets stale fast. Most of the annoyance is from the scum wallowing around in the lower parts of his fanbase, though. Of course, I haven't heard much from them as of late.

I guess if he manages to entertain some, he's done his job though. Whether he's good at that job is debatable.

Way past cool.

Not actually bad art.
